Monday night, things could have changed forever, had it not been for the intervening of skill, heroism, and luck. A bombing had been planned at the very subway station -- and nearby -- which lies only a few hundred yards from my school. I dare not think of the possible consequences. It puts matters into perspective hearing of such things. There is only so much time, and it only goes forward. And I intent to fully live through that time. And yet here we are, a lot of us, complaining about colored plastic bricks. I hereby make a vow: Be grateful for what you have, and take nothing for granted. Rain and thunder and lightning outside, slamming against the roof and walls and windows. I thought I saw a salmon swim by a minute ago.
