I like the base theme in general. Has a hopeful theme going with it.
Same here, I'm juggling lots of anime and manga right now, along with video games, and no schoolwork XD. I think that the writer of Haruhi struck a goldmine of a character and doesn't know what to do with it/her. Pretty disappointing.
