  1. Maybe if you'd delete all the inactive users there could be a proper count of age ratio.

(and by inactive I mean any member with zero posts that's been here for more than, say, three or four years. because, despite how much the staff like to argue otherwise, there's not a huge chance of them posting after three or four years, especially if they never posted even once)

  2. Well-played Smeag.

Cags, if you think we have no sense of humor and behave like robots all the time you're obviously not looking hard enough. I try to make fairly regular blog posts where I tend to be laid back (in the non-Weekly Updates moreso), and if you read the news you'll see we throw things in from time to time.

When I'm posting on the forums it's generally down to business, in part for reasons like what Lady Kopaka said above and in part because I only have so much time to dedicate to BZP. If you had to worry about approving accounts, moderating posts, dealing with problem members, etc, it would tire you out and turn you off to posting for fun too.

As the people who talk to me via PM and IM and have met me in person know, I do have a sense of humor and like to not take things seriously. The problem is that doesn't work well when you're trying to run a website.

So while Smeag went for the ironic route to show you that we have a sense of humor, I'm going for the serious route because it really annoys me every time you complain about the staff (I think you tend to fall under that 'problem member' group above {zing!}). If people just played by the rules we wouldn't have to crack down so much and be so serious, so I should blame you all for making me a robot.

    There.

Guh. It is a very bad idea for me to make entries late at night. when I'm cranky. Sorry.

I suppose it hasn't occurred to you that what you find funny (lame internet fads and memes), others find juvenile, lacking in intellectual value, and therefore lacking in humour?

Not to mention this whole 'rebellious teen who is so much smarter and better than everyone else' schtick is wearing pretty thin. Oh look, you're edgy! And sarcastic! And you like to rock the boat! Way to be [like everyone else]!

Andrew Six is a hilarious person, and he really enjoys good humour, much like most of the rest of the staff (there are some who are too serious, but that's life). But the stuff you think is hilarious and get upset about us removing or looking down on just isn't funny.

Of course it's occurred to me. And I resent your characterization of my sense of humour. How long has it been since I've made an entry specifically about a meme or similar? Memes have been relegated to the "things I laugh at when I'm really sleepy and bored" category.

  3. No, there's no way. Since comments aren't considered posts by the forum software they are not tracked.

You'd think the blog addon would be able to do it somehow, though. I mean, all the data for the comment is already in the system, along with member names and such. 's gotta be some way for it to collate that information.
