  1. Thanks for looking into it. Can you look at the bottom of each canister and tell me what types of patterns you see? Is it just one type of pattern and does it differ from the pattern on Visorak canisters?
  2. Hi, I've reconsidered selling the whole lot. I'll be making the store public soon so you'll be able to pick whatever you like.
  3. Well it looks like that mystery is solved then. DragonMaster2050, I'm not sure I follow which CD you have? You have American releases of the Toa Metru, correct?
  4. Sup. I've got a beaut to sell on my BrickLink store: a nearly complete Toa Mata Nui, golden Kanohi Ignika obviously included. I rescued and washed this set yesterday; it's currently drying under the sweet sweet spring air (no direct sunlight). The mask has been thoroughly inspected and appears to be flawless. The set's missing a few pieces but nothing you can't part out for 10-15 euro, shipping included. Both instruction booklet are present with some issues: booklet #1 has a torn-off page (still whole but hanging separately) and a partially missing back cover; booklet #2's missing the first (and last) several pages. But don't let that distract you from the fact that the instructions are THERE for a change. I've listed this set for 100 euro as I think that's fair based on recent BrickLink activity but y'all are welcome to offer any other price that suits you. I'm open to negotiate. Cheers.
  5. So I was looking at my canisters and noticed yet ANOTHER discrepancy, lmao (2005 was insane). As it turns out early US Toa Hordika canisters (both light gray and metallic gunmetal) have a distinct pattern on the bottom as compared to EU releases of the Toa Hordika and Toa Hagah. I have no idea what pattern the US Toa Hagah or late US Toa Hordika have (the release where the instructions advertise the other 2005 sets instead of 2004 sets).
  6. JSYK the Copper Komau is also either opaque or translucent. Good luck.
  7. Can you tell me what the inventory number of your copy reads, Planetperson?
  8. Okay, I have another conundrum. Can anybody in the US (lol) tell me why some of the Toa Hordika appear to have light gray canisters (much like the ones in Europe), while others have darker, more metallic-looking canisters (similar to gunmetal), which stand about a millimeter higher than the other type? Are the darker variants an earlier production run or is this a matter of different locales? I don't really know if any canisters were produced in the US in 2005. Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the reply, Peri! Can you tell me if the copy you have has this inventory number: 4229983? Because if so, we can safely assume only one version exists of the Toa Metru booklet. Speaking of which, I only found out about it recently as well; as it turns out, it came in canisters without a CD (while mine all had one). I'll go ahead and scan it sometime, although I'm 99% sure the "comic" part is identical; the only difference is the six pages displaying the Toa Metru sets instead of the Matoran.
  10. I'm trying to figure a few things out about the early 2004 sets as they came out in the US. Am I missing something or did none of Toa Metru come with mini CDs at all? Did they all just have Kanoka Club cards? And did any of them come with a mini booklet similar to the ones included in previous sets like the Rahkshi? From what I can tell, these types of booklets generally came in two versions: an international one without captions and a North American one with captions. I am 100% sure this applies to the following booklets, judging by what's listed on BrickLink as well as things I've personally seen: Early Bohrok booklet (with "LEGO Technic" printed on the cover) Regular Bohrok booklet Toa Nuva booklet Bohrok-Kal booklet Rahkshi booklet And now 2004 is when things get weird, as there are two international versions of the Metru Nui booklet (meaning without captions): one focusing on the Matoran sets and the other focusing on the Toa Metru sets. Of these two, only the former appears to be listed on BrickLink, while the other listed entry has an entirely different inventory number, implying that it's the North American edition of either the Matoran or Toa Metru booklet. What I'm trying to figure out is if there were in fact two North American booklets: one for the Matoran and one for the Toa Metru. I saw US eBay listings of Matoran, most of which come with a Rahkshi booklet, and fewer with a Metru Nui booklet. As for the Toa Metru, I haven't seen one with a booklet at all.
  11. I'm looking to get an original copy of #4877 Rahaga Norik's instructions/poster as it was produced in the United States. Meaning the poster measures 196 mm by 276 mm (7.72 inches by 10.87 inches) and looks like this. Note the prototype names for the Rahaga—Lahka, Nuukor, Tahkon, Kuuls, Gaaki and Puks. I need this poster since the other 5 I have are the proper US size while my Norik poster is a bigger, European edition. This most likely means only (former) US residents would have the copy I need. I'm offering cash or anything that might interest you from my BrickLink store. The password is "letmesee." Just ask.
  12. Has anybody else had their Bohrok-Kal canisters and instructions suffer severe fading from UV exposure over the years? Back in the day I used to display some of my canisters on shelves where the sunlight would hit them directly for years on end; thankfully this is something I stopped doing after a certain point, but unfortunately some damage has already been done, specifically to my Bohrok-Kal canisters. Curiously enough, my Bohrok canisters were displayed right next to my Bohrok-Kal canisters and their labels look as well as they did on the day they were purchased, whereas the damage on the Bohrok-Kal is so severe that even the instructions inside them have faded around the edges where the labels hadn't covered them, and Kohrak-Kal's lid in particular has begun to deteriorate and smell like old/burned plastic. Has anybody else had this happen to them? I'm curious whether US releases may have been of better quality than the European ones?
  13. I've got a big lot of sets, pieces, instructions, boxes and other stuff to sell. Here's my BrickLink store; the bypass password is "letmesee." Every item is described in detail and has been priced accordingly. The entire lot amounts to €222.93 but you can name any price that you find reasonable for a bulk purchase. Really, any price you like, and we'll negotiate. I've set the minimum buy to €250 so no one's tempted to purchase individual items. *cough* Sorry.
  14. I don't have any myself, but I think a Google search could show you what I'm talking about.
  15. Hello, everyone. Up until recently I was under the impression that the Voya Nui Matoran sets all came with pearl light gray weapons instead of flat silver ones, but after looking closely at my own sets and sets my friends have owned, the colors appear to be a bit irregular. For one thing, one Balta set has flat silver weapons and one Garan set appears to have come with one weapon in each color. Can anyone (preferably in Europe) check their original sets to see if there are any such irregularities? Thanks!
  16. I'm offering a full set of a Toa Metru, including instructions and canisters. I'm looking to get €40 or $45 for the entire lot. PM me for details if you're interested.
  17. Hey everyone, I'm looking for a bunch of instructions that I hope shouldn't be too hard to come by: 8539 Manas—just the instructions for the yellow crab with #4162043 8540 Turaga Vakama (#4159407), 8542 Turaga Onewa (#4159409) and 8543 Turaga Nokama (#4159410)—would rather buy these as a bundle 8811 Toa Lhikan & Kikanalo—with #4267275 I already have all of them but they all have various problems so I'm looking to replace them with better kept copies. I'd rather buy within Europe. Thanks.
  18. Thanks a lot for the info, you guys. I used a similar axle solution to separate the pieces in 2012 and they looked just fine. Someone on Facebook once mentioned that a "stub" of sorts inevitably gets broken when separating the two pieces and I never found out what they were talking about.
  19. I once read that removing the eye piece from a Mata head causes damage somehow? Can anyone tell me if that's true and which of the two parts gets damaged in the process? I've done this to at least 18 heads (all Toa Mata, all Turaga and 6 additional pieces); when I inspected them, they appeared to be intact but I can't be sure.
  20. It looks like there's also an official PDF of the later release here. Would still like a European BZPer to confirm they have a 4267275.
  21. Hey everyone. I need a quick reference. Can anyone who has a European edition of Toa Lhikan (meaning the box looked like this and not like this) check the inventory number of their instructions for the set? So far I've seen two versions of the instructions: 4288710 (you can see them here and here; note the black 1x11 liftarms on pages 17 and 22) and 4267275 (I can't find it online but I have a physical copy and pages 17 and 22 show black 1x9 liftarms instead). Apparently there's been a change in the pieces and instructions sometime during production (as mentioned here), but I'm trying to figure out if this was a general or a regional thing. My Toa Lhikan set came with two 1x9 liftarms but I later ordered the instructions from a US seller. Basically my questions is: can anyone in Europe tell me if their original Toa Lhikan instructions say "4267275" on the back cover? Thanks.
  22. I can vouch for Bionicle Universe, a.k.a. Cas. It's been a misunderstanding with a buyer and hopefully the store will be back up soon.
  23. My very first topic (or post, for that matter) on BZP was in BIONICLE-Based Creations and featured... an MOC with a very vague description and literally no photos, as I hadn't yet heard of Brickshelf. The MOC was called the "Ko-Defender." On a seemingly unrelated note, I had no idea about the distinction between "light gray" and "light bluish gray" until yesterday; I only knew about "dark gray" and "dark bluish gray" as the pieces in those two colors tend to be bigger. So obviously, I had to go through my entire list of sets to figure out which ones may have incorrect gray pieces. The answer was easy: all of the second-hand sets I'd bought from 2013 till now and all of my own sets from before and after the color transition in 2004 that I'd personally mashed up. And it turns out the last sets I'd EVER mashed up in my life were the sets I used for that cringy-looking ice-based MOC in 2005. So I opened up my Kopaka Mata, Kopaka Nuva, Kurahk and Toa Nuju to check if any of the light gray pieces were mixed up, and—of course—they were. And now they're all in their proper places. I literally can't believe how satisfying it was to trace and redistribute these pieces after almost 14 years.
  24. Can anyone tell me if there was just one variation of the copper Komau and if it was translucent? Because this photo seem to suggest it was. I always thought the UK (European) Huna was opaque and the US Huna was translucent, but these two supposedly came from a Swedish Legoland bundle. So is there an opaque copper Komau or not?
