  1. In the Halo 4 Pre-release Terminal. You can view it on Waypoint. Seems it's a character that appears in "The Thursday War".
  2. Oh, has it? The only part that I'm aware that was confirmed was the fact that the Didact would be an antagonist at a point in the story. Likewise, Frankie stated that the Didact is a "Heroic, noble character" and that it's "Complicated". I think this "Ancient Evil" of Halo 4 and this "Insane Evil" that the Didact (Yes, that guy who supposedly is the ancient evil in Halo 4) fights against in Silentium are one and the same. Also, it's been stated that the ancient evil has not been revealed yet, and yet the Didact was revealed, though it could be merely referring to the fact he hasn't been shown yet. I just don't buy that either Didact would just start randomly attacking humans. The first disliked, and then respected, humans, and the second, the Ur-Didact, was friends with them.As for the book....Silentium:In the last years of the Forerunner empire, chaos rules. The Flood—a horrifying shape-changing parasite—has arrived in force, aided by unexpected allies. Internal strife within the ecumene has desperately weakened Forerunner defenses.Too little, too late, the legal rate of Juridicals is only now investigating possible crimes by the Master Builder and others. Evidence-gathering agents known collectively as Catalog have been dispatched to collect testimony from the Librarian and both Didacts: the Ur-Didact, treacherously abandoned in a Flood-infested system, and the Bornstellar Didact, who accompanies the Librarian as she preserves specimens against the dire possibility of Halo extermination.Facing the imminent collapse of their civilization, the Librarian and the Ur-Didact reveal what they know about the relationship between the long-vanished Precursors and the Flood. The Precursors created many technological species, including humanity and the Forerunners. But the roots of the Flood may be found in an act of enormous barbarity, carried out beyond our galaxy ten million years before...Because of that barbarism, a greater evil looms. Only the Ur-Didact and the Librarian--husband and wife pushed into desperate conflict--hold the keys to a solution.Facing the consequences of a mythic tragedy, one of them must now commit the greatest atrocity of all time—to prevent an insane evil from dominating the entire universe.I've highlighted the relevant points, and I also noticed something else: The Evil in Halo 4 is stated to be a universal threat, and the evil in Silentium is described identically. I think it's not coincidence. Overall, It's apparent that something bad is outside of our galaxy, and I'm curious if the Forerunners only managed to bury it and delay the inevitable Of note: The Primordial does state that 100,000 years hence (stated prior to Halo Activation) that humanity will be tested by the Precursors again. Before the Didact Finally, Halo has rarely been straightforward. I played Halo 1 years ago expecting the main enemy to be the
  3. What the Forerunners did to humanity pales to what the Precursors may have done to entire Galaxies. Not to mention, I'm curious what this "Insane evil" that apparently exists outside of the Galaxy really is...Silentium can't come soon enough. I bet it's the same evil that's in mentioned in the description of Halo 4.
  4. Do we know the status of Tom Lasky's father?
  5. Supposedly, it's a memory issue... If I've heard correctly, PS3 has had many issues with cross console games.
  6. Which Audio are you referring to? In the beginning, about all they say in the background is essentially "Signal isolated, running trace. Locked on! CHIEF! 117!" Also, it appears that the Infinity has a Male AI... is it Black Box?
  7. Thankfully, his attitude changes. Still, I noticed some Easter eggs... When they march past the statue on the campus, the ODST poster in the background is a re-textured version of one of the Halo ODST concept art pictures. Also, I thought it was odd that part of the Campus motto is "Forward unto Dawn"... I wonder if the ship itself has any connection to the events that later take place, ie, was it named in memory of the University? Finally, I realize that the flash at the end that messes with one of the computers was actually
  8. I play Battlefield 3, Skyrim, and Halo: Reach.
  9. That's the problem... there's no sign of flood Biomass. Remember, on flood worlds, even the vegetation is absorbed.I wonder if it's a new enemy; I always wondered if the Precursors might create a new servant race or something....Also, saw Episode 1 of Forward unto Dawn. I have to admit, I got chills from the opening sequence.
  10. I was looking at the map descriptions for "Abandon", and it appears we might have an interesting side story. , "On the remote world of Erebus VII, at the very edge of human-occupied space, an ONI research facility which was once teaming with researchers now lies eerily vacant. Although the hostility of this world had been initially considered by its team leaders, it is tragically clear that a great many ‘things’ had simply not been taken into account." Also: "From the start, the theme for this map was constructed around the story of an ONI research team that mysteriously disappeared. We wanted to leave some story breadcrumbs that helped to imply that something dramatic occurred in this location."What do you guys think? Could this relate to the main plot?
  11. Some Decepticon?(No, it's not a Sea lion...but it lives in water)
  12. Best part? You can theoretically kill a dragon with that wooden sword like a boss.
  13. If you are into Alchemy, get it. You can grow a horrendous amount of plants in a short time; one crop spot can give you [3] or [4] of an item. And with a Greenhouse, you can grow even more.
  14. Tie Fighter was such an amazing game... and what's funny is that the main character of the game actually appears again, I think during the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. "Marek Steele", I think.
  15. Did anyone here ever play Tie Fighter, X-wing, X-Wing Alliance, or X-wing vs Tie Fighter?
  16. Because they were bored of the franchise, and Activision bought them out? Anyway, with 343, we still have Frankie. I've been honestly impressed by the new direction Halo's going, and how it seems to be a much more cohesive story (as of right now) than Bungie's convoluted tale. The sheer level of Retcons bungie dropped was quite impressive, and it made it difficult to connect the games with the books. With 343, both the Kilo-5 trilogy and the Forerunner trilogy seem to be directly connected to events in the game.
  17. The last set I remember was Takanuva's dark form in Winter 2008.
  18. A Sea Otter has over 500,000 hairs per square inch on it's pelt.It takes 5-8 minutes for Sunlight to reach the earth.
  19. I finally watched the Mantis reveal... I was impressed. Still, I wonder if we'll have to fight
  20. Seeing as the Precursors predate the flood by billions of years, I'm not sure that's possible. It's heavily implied they are the actual source of the flood. Silentium's description states the flood was "created" 10 million years ago outside of our Galaxy.
  21. "I am the last Precursor, and our answer is at hand" -Primordial. According to the creature, it IS a Precursor. Remember, we know incredibly little about them. For all we know, Precursors could be advanced Graveminds. It's also possible that the Didact is in denial about the true nature of the Precursors, especially as it's implied he's never actually seen any other "Precursor". A transentient being might be interesting... I just hope if we run into one that it's sympathetic.
  22. The last set I bought was actually Onua's 2008 form.
  23. I personally regret getting some of the Voya Matoran. They had little functionality or use, compared to previous matoran forms.
