Wow, it's been pretty long since the first announcement (I reported on it). I was almost afraid they'd abandoned it.
-
I think I downloaded all the files (three years ago, judging by the file change dates). That is, I know for sure I have files sitting here on my PC and I think they are all except for the PHP files needed for the saving, getstate etc. You can't download those so what I wanted to try is replicating the function of PHP files (they just return text so it shouldn't be too hard) but I never got around to it. I can give you the files if you need.

I feel like this is drifting off into a place where it shouldn't.
Yes, we all know the loss of many lives were unfortunately the result of American foreign policy. However, putting all the blame on the US for things that happened is not fair either. I also fail to see how the deaths of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam etc. stand in direct relation to those of 9/11, which is what this topic is about. Nobody is denying those deaths or those that happened in direct or indirect consequence of 9/11 by honoring those who died on that day. It's natural that, this being an American site and all, the deaths of people in the own country has a greater emotional weight than those elsewhere. And again, nobody as far as I can see is denying the latter any respect by respecting the victims of 9/11, even if I do not find it inappropriate to point those out and to make a call for tolerance and mutual respect, regardless of religion or culture. What's more, I think it's necessary if true respect is to be paid to the victims of that day. We must not allow the deaths of so many innocents to be abused.
Lastly, political discussion is not allowed on this site and whether you agree with that or not, it's something you need to respect if you want to participate on this site.

Well, he does have a point. This story isn't going to be posted over and over, is it? I mean, there is always a point where one must move on. On the other hand of course, the story shouldn't do any harm and since I'm not American, I probably don't have too much of a say here. I don't feel disturbed by this story but if I were the admin of this site I'd probably have stopped in 2011. Just my two cents, though. I don't want to offend anyone.stop doing this every year
Or you could have some respect for the 3000 people who lost their lives. If remembering this tragedy offends you, then don't pay attention to it. Some of us wish to remember it, let us do so.
I'll never forget 9/11. I was in school, and despite being 6, I knew a horrible thing had been done...I did not know why at the time, I just knew it was bad. The rest of the day and the following days were solemn and awkward...walking outside and not hearing any aircraft was just...eerie. It's amazing that 14 years have gone by...thankful nothing like this has happened again. If there was anything that came out of it, it was the unity following the attacks. Race, religion, political affiliation, none of that mattered...we were all just Americans. Not even nationality mattered that day. I wish that same unity would come back, but I just pray it doesn't take another tragedy to bring humanity together again.
There are many other things that have come out of it and many of them aren't good. Middle East and even Europe are experiencing some very long-term implications right now. I'm not a historian but it's probably safe to say that 9/11 was one of the most influential events in recent history, if not the most. However, I try to be an optimist and think that everything is going to work out eventually. There are always rougher times and better times, you can't have one without the other, after all.
I do wish so much unity would come and spread over the whole world, too. I wonder if that's one of the things that unites us all (ironically)? The problem is that there are too many different views of what the world should look like.

These are going to sell like hotcakes.

I would have, too, if the picture wasn't just 1080p and had awful compression artifacts. :/I liked it so much that I saved it to use as my desktop wallpaper in the future.
Agreed, that's just what I thought when I saw this. After so many years of seeing Vezok's Friend share his amazing artwork on BZP, it's amazing to see it shared on Lego's official social media channels.

My minimum price has been met. Ruhnow wins the auction at 171$ and will be contacted via Personal Messager. Congratulations to you and thanks to all for participating.

Since my minimum price has not been met and some of you seemed to be interested in keeping bidding, I am extending the auction until 10th August, 2015 at 22:00 EST.

Great find! Nice to see names are back. It's very intriguing that Kopaka (and Melum) get special treatment, that's really unusual.Just to be clear, there are some "Product Not Available" listings on shop.LEGO.com that confirm the official names (not just translations like the ones in this news article). You can tell they're the official names because if you enter an unofficial name (like "ketar stone animal" instead of "ketar creature of stone") into the URL in the same format, you get a "Page Not Found" page instead of a "Product Not Available" page.

1x red
1x green
1x brown
1x white
Ruru:
1x blue
1x red
1x green
1x brown
1x white
Kaukau:

1x transparent light blue
Rules:
General:
- The auction starts on 31st July, 2015 at 20:00 UTC and ends on 7th August, 2015 at 20:00 UTC.
EDIT: Since several people showed interest in a prolonged auction and my minimum price was not met, I am extending the auction until 10th August, 2015 at 22:00 EST.
- Bidding starts at 70$.
- The deal will only take place if my minimum price is met (minimum price will not be disclosed before the end of the auction).
If the minimum price is not met, the product will be offered to the highest-bidding member for the minimum price. If the bidder declines the offer, the set will be offered to the member with the next highest bid at minimum price, and so forth. - With my posting the name of the buyer, the auctioning process will be concluded.
- I only accept payments via PayPal.
- The shipping costs (see below) will be added to the cost at which the buyer acquires the set of masks. The sum has to be transferred to my PayPal for the payment to be considered complete. For maximum convenience, I encourage the buyer to send the total sum in one transaction.
- I will ship as soon as the payment has entered my PayPal account. I will provide the buyer with a tracking number to track the shipping progress.
- By default, I will ship internationally in a padded letter or small box via DHL for 15,79 EUR (or 8,79 EUR, if you are a EU resident). If for whatever reason you desire the shipment to take place with a different shipping service, I will be glad to send you the set with a service of your choice.
- The auction starts on 31st July, 2015 at 20:00 UTC and ends on 7th August, 2015 at 20:00 UTC.
-
Bye money, it was nice having you.

It's a "Tahu mask" in both red and blue. The red and blue is because those are the colors we've always chosen and the Tahu mask is because Haus are awesome.

He's easily one of the most adorable things I've seen in a while.

They may have been updated at the same time but I didn't notice any of them.Huh, I'm now noticing that the Ninjago, Elves, Friends, and Ultra Agents product cards were also updated for the summer sets. I wonder if they were updated at the same time, and if so, why they weren't reported on. If we're going to make ourselves out to be a LEGO site we can't report on every teeny tiny bit of BIONICLE news while neglecting to mention other similar news that could have been covered with just one extra sentence ("Lots of other themes have also had their product cards updated for the summer").
-
That's what many people thought about The LEGO Movie, too. How is a building toy getting a feature film?I care less about the fact that LEGO's making Angry Birds sets (hardly the most pointless IP they've ever done) and more about the fact that a game about throwing birds at pigs is getting a feature film.

Yeah, that was probably it.I actually sent a message with some links to rule and reference topics to every new member for some time, in 2007, I think. Not sure when I stopped and why, though.
I can imagine that probably got rather tedious.
I actually started doing it before I became a Forum Mentor and I stopped not too long after I became one...not sure how long but a few months, I think. Nah, I was probably the longest-serving FM because Black Six didn't know what else to do with me.
No wonder you were the longest-serving Forum Mentor. =PI actually sent a message with some links to rule and reference topics to every new member for some time, in 2007, I think. Not sure when I stopped and why, though.

It is and only one of them is Adrian (that's me, hi there) but the other guy isn't really active on this site anymore (he's on others). Either way, it's me posting all the news stories and doing the staff duties.Isn't Gatanui one account for two brothers? Or are you both named Adrian?

The birds set, the Research Institute with the female scientists and the Exo-Suit make three.I think literally all but one of the Lego Ideas creations that have passed the evaluation have been licensed properties.

Wow, Wind wasn't gone for very long. Which is great, of course.
Congrats Eyru and goodbye Emzee! It's been many years. I guess I'm the only Adrian on the staff now.

MNOG has some fantastic cutscenes but Lewa vs Onua, the Manas scenes and the confrontation with Makuta are some of the best animations I've ever seen anywhere. But overall the entire game is really atmospheric.
As far as MNOG II is concerned, I really love the crystal temples and their mysterious aura surrounding them (particularly the purity, prosperity, creation and peace temples) so I'd say those are probably my favorite parts of the game.

Happy 5th anniversary, Hero Factory! :)
in Hero Factory Discussion
Posted
The premise of Hero Factory held so much potential that was simply wasted, unfortunately, especially in its later years. I feel LEGO could have done so much more with it but alas, it never came to be. It's not all bad, though, after all, we've got BIONICLE back. Of course, HF will most likely be remembered for introducing CCBS, which I think is a very good system for figures and much better than the old BIONICLE system.
