  1. IC: (Loadstone)As Loadstone flew down the corridor, he saw Sluice walking toward him. He slowed the magnaboard to a halt beside her. "Sluice?" he said, concern in his voice. He held a hand out to help her up onto his board. "Are you okay?" IC: (Aquarius)Oh my god, she makes me miss Loadstone, Aquarius thought with a grimace. "All right, if it'll shut you up, I'll help you commandere a ship," he said. And if something happens to her along the way, and I take full credit for the entire haul, this might actually be worth the trouble. "I'm on the outskirts of New York City...or what's left of it. If you want to meet me at the Hudson River, we can find a ship and be on our way. Where are you heading, anyway?" ~Lord Rahl~
  2. OOC: Bharadimir - If it helps, there's going to be a timeskip of about a month after the invasion wraps up. Everyone'll be starting new plots at that point, so you'll have lots of opportunity to join up with other characters then. IC: (Loadstone)Loadstone wasn't really the sentimental type; he'd gotten on numerous Heroes' bad sides by cracking jokes at the wrong time. Even so, he knew now was not the time to make fun of the circumstances. "I can think of a dozen cracks to make right now, but I'll keep it simple," he said. "Good luck, Silver. If you need us, we'll be here." IC: (Aquarius)"I'm merely trying to be realistic about this," Aquarius said in an annoyed but offhanded tone. "If you'd rather drive for a week across the sea floor, or float your 'junk' for several months on an iceberg, then you're more than entitled to. You'll just have to find another aquakinetic to do it for you." ~Lord Rahl~
  3. OOC: My appologies for not posting before, but I wanted to be sure of my character count and went through the entirety of my posts in the archived RPG before I started namedropping people. As it turns out, I have, officially, 99 characters in this game, both PC and NPC, which means that, if I debut my super-special 100th character now, I can finally have the freedom to introduce new characters as I see fit. Without further ado, allow me to introduce Le Gardien! IC: (NPC-Le Gardien)Amid the wreckage of downtown Paris, an armored figure chopped down the last of a battalion of Skeletal Drones, pulling his oversized greatsword from the sparking robot and sheathing it on his back. He surveyed the area, and, having determined that there were no more drones in his immediate vicinity, stalked off through the rubble. The SuperHero known as Le Gardien was an imposing figure, both in appearance and legend. He wore a suit of knight's armor, polished silver with blue accents, that seemed to have been progressively upgraded over the years. The visor of the helmet was polished black glass, most likely containing a HUD; computerized controls were grafted to the back of the gauntlets; thick platforms were built into the base of the boots to encase rocket boosters; and several connective parts of the suit were missing, revealing a padded suit of black kevlar body armor underneath. He carried an enormous sword that noone without augmented strength would have been able to even lift, let alone use with proficiency, a blue cross inlaid in its circular pommel. The Heroes he passed gave him a courteous nod, or else completely ignored him. Le Gardien was known to be reclusive and antisocial, and they knew better than to try to engage him in conversation. Those few civilians who chanced being out amidst the remnants of the invasion pointed and whispered as he walked by. Le Gardien was legendary, both in France and the SuperHuman community, for having defended France for the past 183 years. It was commonly disputed among historians, but it was believed that Le Gardien was actually the first SuperHuman to ever become a "SuperHero" - a SuperHuman who donned a costume and personna to fight crime, leading a double life to protect both his identity and the country. Whether or not he was indeed the first SuperHero, Le Gardien carried an enormous amount of respect for his years of service to the nation of France. Over recent years that respect had begun to falter, however, as he clashed time and again with the League of Salvation. Refusing to join a worldwide network of Heroes he was convinced would only get in his way, Le Gardien brought forth a harsh sense of justice, maiming Villains as often as he captured them. People were beginning to view him as outdated, an archaic version of heroism long overdue for retirement. If only they had the nerve to say it to his face.... OOC: Ta-dah! He'll play a larger role in future plots, but I wanted to make sure that the first SuperHero ever was my 100th character. Now, had I gotten to it sooner, I would have had Loadstone hurl that piece of metal at the window and seal it before Shard and GX had been sucked out. Now I'm not sure what to do with him; he came in all dramatic only to do nothing and head out... IC: (Loadstone)The sudden vacuum had forced Loadstone to abandon his metallic sphere and focus his sole attention on keeping his boots magnetized to the floor - and keeping his glasses on his face. He straightened himself up as the hull shields activated, cursing his lack of action. Upon receiving the call from Silver, he snapped his fingers and summoned his magnaboard, which he had left in the hallway behind him. "Anyone need a lift?" he asked, stepping up onto the hovering metallic surfboard. IC: (Aquarius)Aquarius's delayed response had been a byproduct of trying to recall who Hivemind was, and how he knew her. It finally dawned on him that she was a fellow genetic scientist, one he had worked with once but had never actually liked. Just by listening to her absurd conversation now he remembered why - she was easily distracted, none too eloquent, and had little care for her fellow Coalition members, including the other scientists that they employed. He much preferred working with G-Nome or Contagion; at least they viewed their work with a more serious attitude. Not to mention she clearly didn't know what a distress signal was for. "Whether I could actually do as you suggest or not, I would advise against it," Aquarius said. "The League has an entire aquatic division of Atlanteans that they could use to capture us both, and confiscate your cargo. With the invasion dieing down, aerial transport seems to be your best option, but I'm no pilot, and I don't have a tiltrotor on hand, either." He paused for a moment, then added, "The best substitute I have would be to call in Apparition and see if he could either teleport your cargo to wherever it is you're headed, or if not to acquire transportation for you." EDIT: TPTI, to fix the spacing in the first post, delete the spacing you have already and hit Enter from the line above it. That usually works for me. ~Lord Rahl~
  4. OOC: @TPTI - That's brilliant, thanks. I know exactly who I want as my fourth character, but as I'm trying to manipulate my character count at the moment, I'll wait until after the invasion to post him. (I have no use for him until then, anyway.) @Trans - I'd say skip to post-invasion, but A. I'd be outnumbered and B. I'd be lieing. I desperately want to see how this plays out; I've said numerous times, amidst my constant grumbling (which I apologize for), that this plot was really fantastic, just drawn out a bit. We can't stop now, this is one of those situation that we wait entire plots for - Doctor Danger's grand scheme unveiled, fighting Ikusen Sakeme to keep him from enslaving the world. We're in one of Earth's darkest hours now, we have to save the world! That's why we're all here, isn't it? I'm going to use one of KN's time ripple/warp effects to explain why Loadstone didn't show up with Scorchmark and the others. Which means I can make a dramatic new RPG entrance... IC: (Loadstone)With a ear-splitting shriek, the twisted fragments of the doorway to the Armada Mothership's bridge ripped from the walls, forming a metallic sphere that hovered in midair, a purple aura swirling around it like mist. The metallic soles of his purple boots clicking against the metal floor, Loadstone strode into the room. His silver suit was covered in scorch marks and soot, and his normally sly expression was replaced by a murderous glare. "All right, play time is over," he snarled, readying to lob his makeshift projectile at the first robot (or cyborg) that he saw... OOC: Who in this room is magnetic? IC: (Aquarius)The Battle of Central Park was slowly coming to an end as the League began methodically erradiacting the last few waves of robots. With the Armada Mothership no longer casting its imposing shadow over Earth, the defenders of the planet had been given a small bit of hope that the onslaught was at its end. The closer the battle came to an end, the farther into the outskirts of New York City Aquarius moved. While, in the face of extinction, the League was willing to overlook anyone's past crimes if they were helping to defend the world, he wasn't about to take any chances when they weren't busy fighting hordes of alien androids. A sudden beeping caught his attention, and he pulled out his Coalition Communicator. One of the last remnants of Doctor Danger's forty-year reign of the Coalition, the communicator was a marvelous piece of technology. It consisted of a long, Y-shaped base, padded grips along the sides, and a large circular digital screen at its top. Even with the amount of long-range communications in use in the modern world, the Coalition Communicators still operated on a secure network - they recorded audio and fractured it over a number of different radio frequencies, incomprehensible save to other communicators, which then reassembled the message in near perfect condition. The beeping signified a distress signal, localized or it wouldn't have continued for so long. Aquarius quickly opened a channel to the communicator that was eminating the signal. "This is Aquarius, answering your SOS," he said, holding the device like a walkie-talkie. "I need your name and location. What's up?" OOC: That's Hivemind's signal, for the record. I figured that she'd have made it to NYC sooner or later, and time in TSTW doesn't run like in the real world. An image of the Coalition Communicators, for those wondering. ~Lord Rahl~
  5. Hey! I just noticed I'm not in your friends list! *pouts*

  6. I was just wondering, with the new PM system in place (which I'm a huuuge fan of, by the way), is it possible to have multiple people participate in a message? For example, in the top left-hand corner, it lists "participants." Is it possible to have three participants to a message? I ask because I'm planning a story with two of my fellow members, and I've been forwarding what one said to the other, and vice versa. It would be really cool if all three of us could have access to the same message, as it would allow us to coordinate our ideas much more easily. Thanks. ~Lord Rahl~
  7. Glad to be back on BZP!

  8. OOC: So everybody gets their character upgrades over the allotted characters? Does that mean I get four, as I was two over the limit before? I is so confused... I'm going to have to go back through the archive, becase I can't even remember where I left Loadstone... ~Lord Rahl~
  9. OOC: TSTW! is back up! My life is whole once again! I believe that there is only one way to properly express my happiness: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:Now I know that in the first post it says that you can only have two characters, but I had a third one granted to me in the old RPG, so I'm reposting his profile as well. If I can't have all three, then I'll simply make Aquarius an NPC again...Real Name: Mike O'ConnellAlias: LoadstoneAppearance: Spiky blond hair, bright blue eyes, 5' 11" tall, usually wears a T-shirt and jeans. Super-suit is metallic silver, with purple gloves and boots with yellow lightning bolts on them. Has an insignia on chest of a horseshoe magnet with a lightning bolt between the tips. Wears sunglasses designed to shield from light-based attacks due to his sensitive sight. Carries a metallic surfboard called a "Magnaboard" which he uses to fly.Power: Electromagnetic powers, and has slightly enhanced sight and hearing. Basically -Ferrokinetics (magnetism): Basically like Magneto - force fields, flying, control metal, etc.Electrokinetics: The cells of his body are capable of creating and launching electric charges and absorbing them as well, and can manipulate electricity.Allegiance: League of SalvationArea: NYC, New YorkBio: A cocky superhero in his early twenties, Mike is a robotic genius, and was hired at the age of sixteen for a robotics company because of it. He first discovered his powers when he was eighteen by creating a ball of magnetised paper clips in frustration after being given a large design project from his boss. He and his brother, Aquarius, a promising genetic scientist who also began exhibiting powers, began a team of superheroes with acquaintances from each of their professions - Mechanic and Spectral. After two years worth of superhero work, Aquarius broke off and pursued villainy, eventually joining the Coalition. Spectral moved to France, and Loadstone and Mechanic joined the League of Salvation. While helping fellow heroes Fade and Omega try to stop the villain Thrasher from stealing a regenerative formula from a pharmaceutical company, Loadstone was exposed to numerous chemicals, the combination of which slightly changed the makeup of his cells, and by extension, his Omega Radiation signiture. By altering his cells, it allowed electricity to pass through him harmlessly, and by changing his Radiation signiture he became sensitive to electricity as well as magnetism.Real Name: Jason O'ConnellAlias: AquariusAppearance: Spiky blond hair, dark brown eyes, 5' 11" tall. Super-suit is navy blue, with a blue cape as an accent. Has an insignia on its chest of a snowflake, half of which appears melted. Wears bright green goggles.Power: AquakinesisAllegiance: Coalition of CorruptionArea: New York CityBio: The older twin brother of Loadstone, Aquarius is a skilled geneticist and former doctor. Unlike his brother, Aquarius was never much of a heroic figure, gathering most of his information from informants on the black market. He became increasingly darker and more evil, until finally he broke away from his team and pursued villainy. Within months he was found and recruited by Animator, a member of the Coalition of Corruption. With the Coaition's funding and a newly found lack of moral guidelines, Aquarius began experimenting with genetics, and soon became one of the Coalition's leading scientific minds. His creations were so impressive, Doctor Danger had one of his genetic hybrids, the Lupine, standardized as the Coalition's henchmen. When Midnight took over the Coalition, Aquarius was named his second-in-command, for reasons as of yet unknown. After Midnight's demise, however, Aquarius has resumed his role as a Coalition geneticist, letting other members squabble for power. Character replaced.Real Name: Jonas BradleyAlias: SoundlessAppearance: A tall, athletic man with unkempt black hair and blue eyes. Wears a sleeveless brown vest over a thin white shirt, and loose black pants with black boots. Wears a blue bandana over his nose and mouth to conceal his identity. Has two scimitar sheathed on his back.Power: Emits a field around himself, roughly ten feet in any direction, that suppresses all sound.Allegiance: Solo VillainArea: Chicago, IllinoisBio: Soundless is an ex-Hero and former member of the League of Salvation. Though he excelled in tracking down criminals, his homocidal tendencies kept him at odds with his fellow League members, and he eventually quit the organization after becoming disillusioned with their rigorous moral code.He pursued a shot-lived career as an antihero, though after assassinating nearly a dozen Villains the line between Hero and Villain began to blur for him. The League sent agents out to find him and try to suppress his killing spree, but Soundless made choices he would regret for the rest of his life and, after killing a League member who otherwise would have arrested him, he fled Chicago, never to return. In the time since leaving the Chicago, Soundless hired himself out to various crime lords for a living, specializing in assassinations and covert operations. Several years of this have honed his skills, and he is now an experienced assassin.Soundless is in possession of two matching scimitar, curved blades that he often puts more value in than human life. He is extremely attached to the swords, and his skill with them is exceptional.~Lord Rahl~
  10. You know, pretty much since I joined the CoT TBRPG bandwagon, I've wanted to do an Alagaesia RPG. There was one ages back (the first RPG I ever joined), and I loved it, but it really wasn't executed properly. Anyway, I always told myself I'd wait until the Inheritance Cycle was completed before I started designing one, and with Inheritance coming out next month, I'm contemplating starting work on it. (Assuming I can actually handle one, as I've proven on numerous occasions not to be able to post regularly/balance multiple RPGs.) Before I go and waste my time, I was wondering how much of a draw an Alagaesia RPG would have. It'd be set back during the height of the Dragon Rider's power, and would cover such plotlines as the Ra'zac War. ~Lord Rahl~
  11. Richard Rahl, definitely. :D

  12. Richard Rahl, definitely. He's infinitely cooler on so many levels. :P

  13. Wow! Congratulations! ~Lord Rahl~
  14. An encouraging thought... Okay, I think this'll help. I do have a few questions, though: 1. How do you make pinholes? 2. How do you make an object symmetrical? 3. Are there any in-depth tutorials that you know of that could really help? Well, if you go to the Blender site, they have a section of tutorials. I recommend the wikibook; that's how I'm learning. And Devak, as far as pinholes go, I would say they look really out of place on a Makuta, who is supposed to be one solid piece of armor. I always imagined that when they had their armor lined by the Nynrah Ghosts, they had all those holes blocked so that their antidermis wouldn't fall out. After all, it would be hard to keep a gas in armor that looked like swiss cheese. ~Lord Rahl~
  15. Rumpelstiltskin

    Relax ...

...and reading this just (1) stopped me from sending you a PM, and (2) suggesting the poll idea. I need to get with the program. ~Lord Rahl~
  16. Awsome, Greg. I noticed that a lot of the EL interaction ended up in Riddle of the Great Beings, but it would have been great to have seen them. Especially the Plant Lord's face watching them walk off. Purely epic! Also, you must, must, MUST keep the dino bit. It made the whole thing, besides the ELs. Bionicle Dinosaurs would be AWESOME! ~Lord Rahl~
  17. Sounds like fun; I'll see what I can do. Also, Kyn's link is about one page off. ~Lord Rahl~
  18. Rumpelstiltskin

    Bs01

I was actually going to question the validity of that myself, and I too thought the Hagah Spears would be mentioned. Though, now that you mention that, if Greg has a BS01 account, that brings up the question of why exactly he hasn't added the info himself, if it's canon... Any thoughts on that, Greg?
  19. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «The Matoran Universe is the Domes Universe, which lies inside Mata Nui. It was originally believed that the Matoran Universe was simply underground on the planet, but apparently it was in Mata Nui. So, he is rising from the ocean on the surface of the planet, which is the only thing covering the planet.
  20. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «1. I picked up on that when you threw that number out randomly before. 2. At this point, that's almost common knowlegde. 3. Now that is something new and interesting. I never would have guessed that in a million years. 4. I just asked you that question, actually. I love the answer. 5. Interesting. 6-9. Nothing special. Nice info.
  21. I hope whoever gets appointed to those positions has lots of online-time, Kraggh, or simply can keep good tabs on the RPG. As for roles in RPGs, I find that I love creating villains. I have an easier time connecting with them for some reason. Examples are in both of the only two RPGs I can stay active in - To Save the World! and Reality. I think the better example is in the first, however. Drink up, me hearties, yo ho!
  22. BTW, check out my page on BS01. I think I can run it from there.

  23. Oh, yeah, what is it? We need an Official Loose Ends Topic. ;)

  24. Yeah, it was. I wonder...*snaps*

I think I have an idea!
