  1. This is just as disappointing as it was in 2010... I feel even though I didn't really follow the line as much as G1 that same sense of loss. Maybe it's just because I felt they at least did an excellent jobs with the sets they released if nothing else. They were generally entertaining to put together and a fair challenge.
  2. I considered getting her and Pohatu but seeing how both look overall, I don't think I'll get either.
  3. Honestly I think this is the only set I really like the look of of the first wave of 2016 so I'll get this along with Lewa (since I think it looks closer to original Lewa than the 2015 set). Got every single set of the 2015 wave except the protectors.
  4. He reminds me more of Inika Jaller (just with a much better looking mask).
  5. Being honest, I have to say 2015 because the building experience and general experience is just so much better. Of generation 1, 2007 without a doubt is my favorite of the years, good canister sets, great titans, unique in general, etc.
  6. Nostalgic enough that I was influenced to buy the new sets.
  7. So the 4 sets I got arrived today and I built all 4. I botched Skull Warrior's bow design, so instead modified him to have a slightly longer spear to make up for it. He has the skeletal and tattered look they were going for and overall he's rather interesting looking. Shorter than I expected, but whatever. Skull Slicer who I decided to get after all because of the four arms is also shorter than I expected and less armored overall. However I like his gladiator-like look he has with the mixed armor pieces and the mask catcher (which reminds me of a net). Skull Basher was by far the most interesting of the Gen 2 sets so far for me to build, his arms aren't attached to a gearbox, they're kind of their own thing. I modified him slightly to have slightly longer axes to compliment his bulkiness, overall I am a fan of his minotaur look. Mask Maker vs Skull Grinder I was somewhat surprised by. Mostly by the Mask Maker as I hadn't gotten any of the protectors, he was surprisingly more complex to build than I thought which was welcome. Skull Grinder has an interesting look to him and I like that he stands taller than the other villains. That leaves only the Lord of Skull Spiders and Skull Scorpio for the medium sets I have not gotten, I'm unlikely to get the protectors, but I might get these two as that would have it be 6 heroes and 6 villains.
  8. The crazies, who unfortunately exist in every single fandom.
  9. I'm debating on actually ordering the three sets I put in my cart on Amazon. Mask Maker vs Skull Grinder (As thankfully I was wrong about it being 40 bucks), Skull Basher, and Skull Warrior.
  10. Brutaka, my original namesake (Master Brutaka), everything is great about the set, nice design, nice colors, nice weapon, nice mask. I also liked Icarax and Maxilos.
  11. Looks like this would be one of the sets to get if I decide to get any of the summer sets.
  12. This and Warrior are probably the only Summer sets I'd get, not too fond of the price of the two sets together (I believe is Skull Grinder and Mask Creator). Slicer looks underwhelming and I'm not fond of the look of Scorpio.
  13. Tahu Mata, Lewa Mata, and Turaga Vakama (got all 3 the same day).
  14. I'd personally recommend Gali as her build isn't as odd as Onua and she also comes with a larger weapon, she is the best 15 dollar set you can get.
  15. Update: Still stuck together, did not use said pieces for arm connections. I hated building Onua the most of the Toa so far, so much so I've decided to save the others I have to build until tomorrow. Total unused pieces, 7. 3 spare pieces. Connectors stuck together = 2 The right arm connection with the ball joint attacher = 2 (ironically I used a 2001 mata gear to substitute the ball joint). First modifications of any of the 2015 sets. Oh well, at least I'll have a more straightforward build with the rest I have to build, even if the directions are as unclear as some of the instructions for Onua were. I got some of those stuck together due to an MoC, got them apart by using gloves. I'd say anything that gives you stronger grip should help you pry them apart. Good luck! Also, out of curiosity, what parts of Onua did you find difficult with the instructions? The shoulder type construction that the arms attach to, particularly the right arm which is the part I resdeisgned on my own to actually work with the gear system as the way I built it according to how I interpreted the instructions to be caused the gear to get stuck and not work. The coloring in general in the instructions I felt was inaccurate and the way things attached was often ambiguous.

  17. Ok I really need some help, was building Onua and accidentally attached 2 of those connector pieces (the ones that attach to the legs and torso) and cannot get them apart, is there anyway to get those two short pieces apart? All of my attempts have only ended in failure and rage.
  18. It would be cool if one or two maybe had a design resembling something from Dark Souls.
  19. The last of the sets I got should be arriving tomorrow for me.
  20. Building Tahu and Kopaka influenced me to buy other sets. It reminded me just how much I enjoyed building Bionicle sets.
  21. I ordered from lego.com and they arrived about 5-7 days after I placed the order, so not terribly long.
  22. Good thing I bought a book I needed for a class along with the last of the sets I'd be getting, free shipping is always nice (especially for books that don't always qualify for free shipping).
  23. Pohatu and Onua were generally the oddly proportioned sets which seems like it remains the case even in the 2015 sets. Onua being incredibly bulky and Pohatu being a bit short.
