  1. Or we can do this the violent way, with a villager putting on the Mask of Creation and his body exploding in a Big Bang, creating a pocket dimension of worlds without end from the displaced material of his scattered body...

New connection theory; the G1 universe is the remnants of the last Protector to wear the Mask of Creation!

  2. Didn't we have similar sorts of debate regards the ultimately debunked G1-G2 connection? Someone proposing the link, everyone pointing out how it doesn't work, then someone starts making diagrams in Paint and leaps of thought and then tries to claim that the burden of proof is on everyone else to prove them wrong, despite sitting on a pile of evidence so shaky that a mistimed hiccup could knock it all over?

But the main thing is, whether deliberately or accidentally, it isn't the same design as the prototype Vahi (or any other prototype Vahi I can find on Google images). This depiction has four horizontal "bars" on the mouth area, while all the prototypes (and finalised G1 version) have five.

By the same logic, Lhikan didn't wear a Hau, because that had way more differences to the other hau we saw than that MoT has to the Vahi.
When did I say it wasn't the Vahi? I think you misread my post - I was explaining why it is a new drawing of the Vahi, rather than something reused.

Hence it isn't a placeholder image, and (that half of) the G2 Mask of Time really does look like the G1 Vahi.

You're claiming that it's the G2 Mask of Time, which must have a new design to fit onto the new head piece. But that reproduction of the G1 Vahi must be different because there are four horizontal bars instead of five. I'm pointing out that the number of bars doesn't matter; that's still the Vahi. The Vahi is a mask without a forehead. How can it be the top half of the MoT the Protectors are said to possess?

The disc doesn't specify anything about Lewa or Pohatu

Pohatu's weakness was "can't swim" and Lewa's 'weakness' was "too many jokes", so they weren't all strictly tied to elements (see Onua and vision)
Lewa never had a weakness, it was just bad luck that got him possessed by Makuta, Krana or Trem Krom.

Poor charisma/force of personality. He got possessed/mentally dominated easily.

  6. I seem to recall the turaga putting their spare Kanohi in inconvenient places precisely to help the Toa adapt; Gali had to climb trees and Lewa dive into an underwater cave, for example. Not opposite environments, but unfamiliar ones. This would certainly have had a hand in making sure that their discomfort was minimized below story level.

  7. Unlike last year, the set reviews are making me less enthused about the new sets. Umarak seems about the only one worth getting for the character, though I do want the MoCo. Other than that, I'll just be buying parts packs if I buy any other one, like my PoJ and PoS. (Though they did turn into a pretty cool Ekimu's guardsman after I took the parts I needed.)

  8. Which, for example; I feel like there might be a hidden island located nearby that they'll head to eventually; not under, but nearby.

Perhaps a more in-depth version of Mahri Nui, perhaps? Oh mata nui that was horrible, don't hurt me.

  9. The most delicious irony would be if Makuta made the mask of time this time, and actually intended for it to be used. That looks like a placeholder graphic for the MoT, since it doesn't seem to gel with the rest of the picture. Conspicuous CG, in other words.

Just picture Ekimu and Makuta deciding that Makuta would make the MoT, Ekimu the Golden Masks. When the protectors saw Ekimu coming out with six masks where Makuta only had one, they hail Ekimu as the better mask maker, without realising that the MoT is the greater achievement. And from there, the story goes...

  10. For most of the differently powered Matoran, we can write it off as a) Early-Instalment Weirdness and b) individual talents. Matau certainly had an ability to find the nearest solid surface when traveling over a certain speed, usually by smacking into it. Kapura is a different kettle of fish. Without knowing what he's doing, we can't say if it is or isn't related to a mask power. Sure, there's a Kualsi, but Kapura doesn't seem to need to see where he's going, and Vakama's visions are enhanced by staring into a fire for hours.

  11. i think if a villager wears a mask the mask become corrupt like with the skeleton guys and starts making them become more and more evil

    Welcome back.

I like the fwoom theory, but elementally aligned. The Mask of Fire makes them go *fwoosh*, but the Mask of Ice freezes them from the inside, and the Mask of Stone petrifies them.

I'm very curious about one thing with the new waist articulation. Is there anyone who has a lego brick like 2001 pohatu brown rock or any variation of it and can you test if the new vaist articulation can be used in any form to have pohatu kick the stone.

Sure he may not have a fast kick like 2001 but if he can kick it then his kohlii legacy lives on in G2

That wouldn't work. The gear turns the upper body, not the lower.
I mean, you could hold the upper body and turn the gear with the lower half, but overall it's probably only about as effective as just swinging the full set around to make it "kick" the rock.

You'd be turning the mechanism, which kinda defeats its purpose. BUT I do think this torso might be better for the kicking pohatu mocs than the 2015 one.
