  1. 23 pistons that seem to be only useful for flexing the toa's pecs.

Lewa: Hey, check this out! *Pec flex*

Tahu: This is how a real To a does it *Macho pec flex*

Onua: Hah! Watch this! *Tectonic Pec Flex*

Kopaka and Pohatu: Nope, can't beat that.

    *Everyone looks at Gali*

    Gali: Oh, no.

I've been wondering what's with all the anti-greeble sentiment with fans. Are you guys just used to smooth CCBS pieces or something? I personally disliked the lack of detail on a lot of sets. Plus, greebles are a major part of BIONICLE's aesthetic.

The new torso plate has upwards of 20 pistons on it, all crammed in a small area and not even seeming like functional pistons. Even at its height of pointless patterning, G1 Bionicle didn't have that level of overdetail in the form of pistons alone.

A decent amount of greeble can work as an accent, or visual interest. But greeble for the sake of greeble, just completely smothering a set in detail? Not only does it seriously detract from the versatility of a piece, and make it difficult to build cohesive MOCs, it's just plain ugly.

I like that word. Greeble. Sounds like a Pokémon. Greeble.

What I don't like is the overabundance of it (greeble) on this years sets. The old torsos were busy too, but that was texture and connection points in addition to pistons. Greeble. I don't want this to be the first warning sign that G2 is going to fall into the design trap of 'like the first but more', like video game sequels and the l Star Wars prequel trilogy.

  3. New headcanon; Ekimu forged new elemental masks for the protectors as well as the Masters; the drained elemental masks that were handed down through the years are now worn by the Protectors' heirs, who use them to practice for the day they take over from their parents/mentors.

  4. There was a series (Twisted Metal & Blood and Iron) by Tony Ballantyne that had reproducing robots. Essentially; the child's body is built beforehand, and the mother goes around thinking of what she'd like to incorporate into the child's mind. The father robot is capable of producing the 'brain wire', but the mother is the one who knows how to twist and sculpt it into a living brain. The brain is put into the child-bot body, and the child is essentially 'born' at the level of a 5-year-old. The child then completes their mental development by sleeping and dreaming, while growing up by having parts added. By the time the robot is an adult, it's stopped dreaming and is equivalent to a human adult in sapience and size.

my head canon is that some random villager will find the mask of ultimate power and of course become a toa

i like it but if that did happen since the mask of ultimate power has a mind and probably will make it just as evil as mukuta was

Maybe the MoUP read Makuta's mind and became evil as a result.

Perhaps makuta's jealousy permanently tainted the MoUP's intelligence.

sorry when i said mask makers I ment the type of gold mask maker makuta and ekimus are and btw i think the okoto inhabits are like the agori since the protector of fire has a SON in the animations

    Sorry, I don't understand.

makuta and eikumu have gold armor and gold mask i think only mask makers of the highest order can make gold mask

Please, punctuation! This isn't 2008 anymore. We can type properly from mobile devices now.

That still doesn't prove or dispove anything.

    Lewa is a transgender female

    Is this a joke?

    My own headcanons:

Korgot is a dude. He's black, not blue.

Protector of Water is a girl. She is blue.

Great Spirit Robot is still around somewhere.

The little Fire villager is Takua.

    Romance exists.

    There's an actual in-depth story/plot/fleshed-out lore somewhere.

Skull spiders are some kind of joke. Like, they're just spiders. I just can't imagine them being a serious threat, even in huge numbers.

So this is G1 again in CCBS is basically your headcanon.

Have you ever tried to hit a spider? They're fast enough to dodge you. If a swarm of spiders was really determined to kill you, they could swarm over you without you killing more than a fraction of their numbers. Army ants in the amazon are dangerous enough that monkeys more than a thousand times an individual ant's size get out of their way when they raid. Now imagine the spiders are the size of your head. It's terrifying.

Also, the GSR crashed because of Teridax' actions, not a Matoran rebellion. BS01 is your friend.

It got weakened and sick because of a Matoran rebellion, though. :shrugs: It's something easily confused.

im talking about what if g2 is an alternate past to g1

Could be a nice headcanon; Okoto is on Spherus Magna pre-Core War, and was governed by the Mask Makers in place of the great beings. Doesn't fit into canon, though.

Umarak is a living descendant of Kulta.

i like the idea and it would be cool but there’s just no evidence but then again they do appear to be the same species

Headcanon thread. It doesn't matter, like how Two-kua's idolizing Tahu is mostly headcanon. Though I do like the idea that there's a Gavla-2 in the village. Perhaps PoW's daughter, destined to be married to Two-kua to seal an alliance between the Fire and Water tribes?

  10. Okay, you have a valid point about the shape-shifting thing, but I think it's obvious that only mask makers can make golden masks or everyone would have one. I believe the mask of control can control rahi and other lower form of bio-mechanical life.

Mask Makers are the only villagers who make masks, yes. But who said that Kulta or Umarak's kin are bound by the same rules? Nothing stopping Kulta from making a mask, especially if he's receiving instructions from Makuta.

You 'believe'? Unfortunately, belief does not prove. The Mask of Skull Spiders might very well be the only way to directly control skull spiders and turn them into a horde.

Can someone point out to me if we've had a solid yes or no on whether the Okoto creatures are biomechanical or organic with armour?

  11. I personally think that everyone should get a year of BIONICLE focusing on aesthetics that they like. 2015 gave fans of a sleek futuristic look what they wanted, and 2016 gave fans of a more robotic detailed look what they wanted. It's all fine. That's the way it should be. No one's aesthetic preferences should be held above or favored over another's.

Heck, maybe next we can get even more interesting and different aesthetic changes in the form of shells and add-ons. I'd be all for wavy grooved armor.

Who knows, maybe I end up liking the new look closer to the time. I'm just iffy about it now.

  12. Personally, I think the Mask of Ultimate Power is doing all of this, but they blame it on Makuta because they don’t know that the mask is sentient. Also, I think the Lord of Skull Spiders is Makuta, because he has a gold mask that only a professional mask maker like Makuta could make. Plus it allows him to control the skull spiders, like Makuta's Mask of Control. I wouldn’t be surprised if the golden skull spider mask is a prototype of the Mask of Control.

    Edited for legibility.

Firstly, we have no evidence anyone can shapeshift in G2, let alone Makuta.

Who said only a Mask Maker could make golden masks? Mask Making seems to be a ceremonial or specialized task, but it's possible Ekimu or a past Mask Maker created the MoSS. Even then, Kulta had access to the Mask Makers' Forge for centuries. He could've made the MoSS for LoSS.

We actually have no clue what the Mask of Control does. It could be mind control, it could be metal control, it could be telekinesis or shaping. The specific utility of the MoSS is to control the scuttly little things. Perhaps Tue Mask of Control couldn't even affect the spiders...
