  1. Is there a way to get larger images? A lot of the finer detail seems to be missing because I cannot zoom in to appreciate it, especially in the back. I like what I can make out of the leg build and the torso up into the shoulders.
  2. Thanks. I rarely have a chance to snap off photos that don't turn out dirt poor so I don't have much practice getting anything more snazzy. And yeah that's one of the old collectors, I've had it in my sig for years now. Thank you Edited in some fresh pictures taken in good sunlight today! Hopefully that helps some.
  3. Agnien is the leader of the Toa Terid, the squadron assigned to defending Purified Makuta Teridax in a parallel universe. Unlike most of the Toa Terid, her transformation resulted in a more mechanized hybrid state. Her powers stem from the En Kal emblem attached to her back, through which tubing channels energy into her shoulders and down into the rest of her rebuilt body. The three-prong lance she carries is capable of storing surplus flame to unleash in a devastating barrage. 4. Hey there guys. Long time no post. I made reference to these MOCs in my Renegade of the Light post last year and just never got around to posting them, so here they are. Mono Silver These fleet machines cruise the city ensuring absolute order is retained. While lacking in power they make up for it with decreased bulk and better agility than their counterparts. 5. In an far away city, anarchry reigns supreme among the populace. Matoran are hunted down by soulless machines for the slightest crime, would-be Toa within the province are murdered by jury-rigged Toa Stones, and outside aide is kept back by the great psycho-kinetic barrier walls. But all is not lost; Ashua, wounded Matoran of Light, leads the underground rebellion against the Monoelm Sentries and the true overlord responsible for the misery and death. 7. Thanks! By the time I built the Matoran, I had gone through a few different leg styles with other MOC's, in addition to the standard parts from the sets, so I wanted to pick something that would allow a new style without much hassle. The Toa heads worked great for that, since I generally had a good few stockpiled. They function pretty fairly as shoulders as well as ankles. The Mata Nui sword is made of the following pieces(1x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=60917, 2x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=60923, 1x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=57572, 4x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4459, 4x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6538b, 1x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32039, 1x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=57585, 2x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53585, 1x http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=11841&colorID=11, 1x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4519, 3x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3705, 1x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3708 or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3737, and 1x http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4265c. The last section, the four silver-tubes, were cut up from one longer one. I'm not sure of its part number and I can not find it at the moment). The Rahkshi plates at the hips were a late addition. I thought it looked a little plain without something more, but I didn't know what to use from my inventory. Ultimately I saw the one at the back fo the head and decided that it might work again below, but eh. Hehe. Thank you I noticed that as well recently, but I'm thinking of just removing them altogether and trying something new in their place. Thanks. I'll see if I can whip up something right quick without images; Take http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=60917 and turn it upright, so the double-holes are toward the top. Place four of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4459 into those holes from the front/outside, then attach two of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=60923 using the bottom-most holes in them. You'll get some overlap at the top of the blades, but it should be fine. Take one of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6538b and attach it to the bottom of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=57572 and set aside for now. Take one http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3737/3708(its either 10 or 12 long, can not recall) and slide it through the main opening at the bottom of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=60917 until it is at least halfway through. At the bottom of the axle attach each of the remaining three http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6538b, using one of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3705 inbetween and finishing with one of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4519 or another of 3705 if you want. Take the 10/12-length axle(3737/3708) and at the top of it try to fit one http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=57585 on, so that the base of the y-shaped piece is inside and the two edges are facing the air. Above that add one http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53585, and add one 4-length axle(3705) to the opening, and then one of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4265c toward the middle of the 4-length axle. Place the other http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53585 at the opposite end of the 4-length axle to complete the handle/arm aspect. From there, carefully push the 10/12-length axle the rest of the way through http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=60917, so that it emerges at the top with just enough axle left for the 6538b and http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=57572 piece from earlier can fit atop it. Lastly, attach one http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=11841&colorID=11 to the first http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53585 that you placed above http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=57585. These pieces help to cement the position of the 10-length axle as I recall, but they also served for the combo with the shield. (Should be nineteen days since the last post if my calendar is correct.)
  8. Thank you! I agree the Hau is a little small by comparison, but I couldn't afford the Tower of Toa set at the time and I didn't want to pull the same trick others were doing to get a gold Kraahkan free from lego. And using Lhikan's mask or the Hagah mask wouldn't really fit any better, so I went with what was available. I think this is probably the most complex MOC I've constructed over the years, so I'm glad to hear some good feedback for it. (Today should, if my calander is correct, be the twentieth day - still fair game for bumping I assume?)
  9. This is one of those designs that I can just sit and stare at for a couple of hours, and still find something that I love about it. The custom work blends together fantastically, and I honestly can say that in several years of time on the site, I haven't seen anything like the torso construction before. I'm always thrilled to see different takes on creating fingers and these are another good example of that pulled off very well. The Midak is another great custom creation. Funnily enough, I don't care for the modified Konohi Ignika, though. You did a fair job on the paint work and showing what it must have gone through in the Pit, but it just looks... I hestiate to say 'ugly', because you clearly put a lot of thought into what the details would come out as when you were done. But I think an untarnished Ignika with the same paint job, perhaps glossed instead of so flat, would really add the final touch to an otherwise amazing MOC.
  10. Ignika - life. From a simple mask, it became a number of forms upon the journey to save the Great Spirit. I was running pretty low on spare parts to work with by the time I built him - the Matoran and Mata Nui-renditions had been done for a good while by that point - but I still wanted to get it done. I tried to show a progression through the forms here, where certain aspects were added-upon as the Mask carried on - this is mostly in the spear, the hips and legs, and the shoulders. Thanks for viewing.
  11. Way back when there was a contest to build the AU Teridax, I started work on this guy. He was never finished in time and I've gradually changed a little here and there over the years, most recently rebuilding his warhammer into something a little more unique. The overall structure is pretty stiff, especially the legs and forearms, but he has some pretty neat shoulder-joints if I do say so myself, which give a decent degree of flexibility. He can also move his head around and his middle arms On to the images! 12. Just a what-if moc from several years ago; what if Teridax had won against the Toa Metru and been exiled to the Pit afterwards for his crimes? Now days I realize that everyone is kind of in danger if he somehow breaks it, but it still looks cool ;D
  13. What happens when you dip an insane Piraka into a vat of protodermis? Sometimes it dies. Others, it just gets a little more psychotic than it already was. 14. Way back when Takanuva was corrupted by a shadow leach, I wanted to make my own rendition of his newly half-and-half form. I spent some time fiddling around with different concepts until I hit on my current go-to Toa design for the chest and arms. After that things fell into place pretty easily, for the most part. I've bulked up the torso/stomach a little in the last few months, as well as the back of the neck, but that's about it. So, without further ado, Takanuva - Toa of Twilight! 15. Very beautiful work here. I can't find any real faults with it, and I think you rendered it/constructed it fantastically.

  17. Oh, this is just fantastic. I'm only passingly familiar with the Halo series, be it games or books, but I know enough to say that this MOC has so many different aspects blend together to give a real impression of the armor from the series that I'm almost blown away by it. Coupled with the poses you got out of the design, I don't know what you could expand upon to make it much better. Really great work here.
  18. Thank you very much, I definitely appreciate the response. The shoulders were probably the one part of the design that slowed me down the longest. I don't have as many free pieces available anymore compared to a few years ago, and after a while I settled on the Av-Matoran arm(or was it leg?) joints as the main piece and then had to work out how to make that look less bland. He's definitely skinnier than the official set though, and there isn't really much I can do short of buying a lot more sets to suppliment my supplies right now in order to bulk him out - I can see a good few points where more armor would make sense, or at least varied armor, such as the hips, but still. Again, thanks!
  19. 21. Curiously enough, all I see within that group is a strange Makuta and Mata Nui design linked. How mystifying, mm? Thank you! I just measured the design, and it actually comes out to about 9' 3/4'' tall, with the legs at 4 and 9/10th inchs from the bottom to the hip.

For the longest time I've been wanting to recreate Teridax, but the main stickler from his original set was his legs- I've long since lost the joints allowing them to rotate around easily.Without those, I finally gave up on it and decided to just rebuild him from scratch earlier this year.A little creativity later, and here we are;Standard posehttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ToaMiracles/VarsaiNui/Makuta/oldteridax1.jpgThe backhttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ToaMiracles/VarsaiNui/Makuta/oldteridax2.jpgUpclose and shoulder build displayedhttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ToaMiracles/VarsaiNui/Makuta/oldteridax3.jpgUpclose on lower bodyhttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ToaMiracles/VarsaiNui/Makuta/oldteridax4.jpgThanks for your time.

I am decidedly torn- it looks like BrickFair is close enough that I could ship my entry to it(circa 132 miles or thereabouts), but I have no idea how to go about that process, even if I could get a clear and crisp photo readily available for the contest(webcams are terrible cameras, oi).If I can scrounge up the cash for the roundtrip and snap off some good images in time, I'll report back, but I do have one actual question in all of this-What is the limit of the definition for 'fire' based entries? Does an entry have to be solely of that element, or would a character that utilizes the element of plasma also be qualified as a similar focus?
