It's time for some more Bio-Cup 2022 MOC features. Round One finished up last week and the remaining builders are already working on their next batch. So to fill some of the time, we're taking a look back at the various builds based on the Kaiju theme. Read on to check out these MOCs. -

No new LEGO game demos have come out in the past week, so that means we're finally making our way back to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga! Come on by the BZPower Twitch Channel at around 7:30 PM Eastern to watch us play! I'm looking forward to heading back to the galaxy far, far away!

Earlier today, fellow Administrator Tufi Piyufi announced Official BBC Contest #80: Death and Rebirth! After missing a couple of years thanks to a pandemic or something, final voting for this contest will take place at BrickFair Virginia, which runs from August 3rd through 7th. If you can't attend in person, you can send your MOC on the BZPower Convention Circuit, where you'll be guaranteed a free set as a thank-you for shipping your creation. If you'll be there, you have until that Friday to enter your MOC, allowing for ultimate procrastination. We'll have more details for the entry form and prizes soon, but for now, you can get building!

Our coverage of the Bio-Cup 2022 Preliminary Round continues, with a handful of other cool MOCs to feature. All based off the simple theme of Nature, these are some of the many fine builds that got entered into the contest. -
After our surprise stream of LEGO Brawls for last week's Twitch Tuesday, it's time to get back to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sage. OR IS IT? In the lead up to last weekend's LEGO CON, the developers at ClockStone and Thunderful Publishing released a demo of LEGO Bricktales on Steam, which is only going to be around for a limited time. So that means at 7:30 PM Eastern tonight we'll be playing it over on the BZPower Twitch channel to check out yet another upcoming brick game. I'm excited to do some building and puzzle solving!

Bio-Cup 2022 may be close to the end of the first round, but there are still a lot of MOCs to cover from the Preliminary Round. As such, we'll continue with ten more cool MOCs; read on to see the cool things people built. -
If you're at Brickworld Chicago this week or this weekend, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the Bionicle: Masks of Power fan game! As they shared on Twitter yesterday, they're set up at the convention allowing people to play the current build of the game. They're planning to release it on Steam later this year, but who wouldn't want an early look at this awesome tribute to our favorite LEGO theme?

We're going to be taking a break from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga tonight in our weekly Twitch stream. Recently Red Games released a demo for LEGO Brawls, which is coming to Steam later this year, so we're going to give that a spin! Come by the BZPower Twitch channel starting around 7:30 PM Eastern to see what it's like. I have no idea how much content is in the demo, so it may be a shorter or longer stream than usual - we'll all be in for a surprise!

Here's some interesting news from the making of 2014's The LEGO Movie. Although it was a big hit, apparently there were some major budget concerns while it was being made. According to Dan Lin, the film's producer, they almost cut the live action sequences with Will Ferrell and Jadon Sand, turning it into a purely animated movie, all because the live action sequences would've been costly to film. Of course, that didn't happen and the reveal was one of the more moving parts of the narrative, but we didn't realize how close that it came to being cut. It is an interesting bit of movie trivia.

News on LEGO Bricktales has been quiet since it's announcement back in March, but recently developer ClockStone Studios sponsored a YouTube video with content creator Drae to give us a closer look at the game. Go watch Becoming the Greatest LEGO Engineer in LEGO Bricktales to get a glimpse at some of the early puzzles, which definitely seem to leverage the studio's experience from their Bridge Constructor series. I'm definitely excited for when this comes out and can't wait to stream it during future Twitch Tuesdays!

Go watch the LEGO Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3 Designer Video to hear from LEGO Senior Designer Aurelien Rouffiange, LEGO Senior Designer Uwe Wabra, and Design Manager - Element Lead Daniel Sri Sudarsono on how they created a model of the supercar before it was even released. Bio-Cup 2022 has begun, and people are currently entering their MOCs into the Preliminary Round with the theme of Nature. Many builders like to wait until the last minute to enter, to give them more time to perfect their model and to also keep each other in suspense. But luckily for us, a good number of people have already submitted their models, so it's time for us to take a first look at the contest entries. Read on to see a selection of some of the MOCs, and let us know which ones are your favorites. -

It's the first day of June, and that means all the LEGO Summer sets are now available... in Europe and the rest of the world. North America, of course, has to wait until August for a lot of those sets, per usual. Still, on this side of the Atlantic, there are some products available like 75325 The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter, 10302 Optimus Prime and 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3, in addition to Friends, Minecraft, Marvel, and more. Meanwhile, Europe and beyond get to buy all the new Creator, Monkie Kid, Disney, and Ninjago sets, plus bigger sets like 21058 The Great Pyramid of Giza and 31206 The Rolling Stones. Lucky them. The LEGO AFOL Engagement Team shared the following message on the LEGO Ambassador Network earlier today:From June 1st, 2022, we will be uniting many of our adult focused LEGO sets under the name LEGO Icons to help our adult consumers easily to find new, immersive builds or models that link to their interests and passions, particularly when shopping or browsing online. The name LEGO Icons will span all of our sets designed for older builders that are not already part of an existing LEGO theme such as LEGO Technic, LEGO Ideas or LEGO Architecture.
It's been a while since The LEGO Group retired the 'Creator Expert' moniker, and I'm definitely glad to see these sets grouped under a new heading. What do you think of the new name? Let us know in the Talkback! -

Start up your engines and get ready to build, because the Bio-Cup 2022 is almost here! The preliminary round starts tomorrow, May 23rd, and will continue until only one builder remains! This event always brings out some of the best builds in the community, and I can't wait to see all the entries this year.
