  5. I'm playing a bit of catch-up here, but there's been some cool developments in the Bionicle Heroes modding community over the past months. BZPower member Toa_Kralich has been sharing the work that they, Hexadecimal Mantis, and others have been doing to both improve and alter the way the classic videogame can be played. Here are their recent efforts:

  8. Over the past four months we've been doing a lot of work under the hood of BZPower, updating our forum software, performing database maintenance, freeing up server space, and more. This coming week, we're planning to move the forums from their location at bzpower.com/board to bzpower.com, so the first thing you see when you come to the website will be our community. Once we do so, we plan to put a redirect in place so that old links to the forums still work. The changes will hopefully not take very long, but there's always a chance that something unforeseen might come up. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to work on BZPower and try to keep our home in tip-top shape!

It's been a while since we featured any artwork here on the front page, and low-and-behold, I checked this week and Arcee had posted a new topic. Go give Matoran Guy a gander to go meet Ludwig, a Gen 2-style Matoran with a very cool mask. I love the color scheme and art style that's reminiscent of the comics and animation in the Bionicle reboot. People should post more artwork so we can share that here as well!

It's been a while since Christian Faber updated his Faber Files blog, but on Friday he made a new post: Chroniclers journey - 2022 Bionicle Community tribute poster. Take what you will away from his message, but the artwork is certainly gorgeous and leans into Faber's strength as a creator of imagery and ideas. The lone explorer juxtaposed with the massive robot is rather awe-inspiring and I'd love to have a print of it to hang on my wall!

  11. In case you missed it, I thought it would be a good idea to share our current raffles with everyone that are benefiting a great cause. Go check out the BZP for Ukraine 2009 Movie Style Guide Raffle and BZP for Ukraine Bionicle Prototype Raffle to see if you'd like to donate for a chance to win some rare Bionicle memorabilia. All of the proceeds will be donated to a non-profit group supporting The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and I will be matching up to $500 worth of donations in each raffle. Please consider helping out the millions of Ukrainians displaced from their homes in the wake of the Russian invasion.

  12. Earlier today, The LEGO Group announced that The LEGO Foundation invests USD 20million to catalyze innovation supporting neurodivergent children. This takes the form of the Play for All Accelerator, a three-phased program that encourages social ventures, organizations, and social enterprises to propose plans to improve the education of children with autism, with ADHD, and with other neurodivergent diagnoses. The pool of proposals will be reduced in each phase, and ultimately The LEGO Foundation hopes to find up to five new long-term partners that will receive additional funding to implement their programs. This definitely seems like a worthy investment and one that I hope bears fruit!

  13. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has resulted in millions fleeing their country, becoming refugees throughout the world. Today we are starting two raffles to raise money to donate to The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), through a US-based non-profit, to help the many displaced citizens impacted by the conflict. Please consider participating in the 2009 Movie Style Guide Raffle and Bionicle Prototype Raffle, where we're offering some rare Bionicle memorabilia. In addition, I will be matching up to $500 of donations in each of the raffles, doubling the help you all will be providing. The winners will be selected on May 8th. Good luck and thank you all for your generosity!

  15. The new LEGO Ninjago EVO sets stirred up a lot of discussion when they were first revealed, introducing a collection of new and interesting parts that comprise the System Character and Creature Building System (SCCBS). BZPower Member and New Elementary contributor Pohaturon put together an article for the latter site with a variety of creations they built using the new pieces. Go check out LEGO NINJAGO: MOCcing with the new-for-2022 parts to see what they came up with, especially Tahu EVO and The Bully, which Bionicle fans will surely appreciate. I look forward to seeing these parts circulate more and the MOCs that end up incorporating them!
