  1. During the LEGO Bionicle VIP event at New York Comic Con, BZPower had the chance to interview Cerim Manovi, Creative Director of the Bionicle line. Cerim is very passionate about Bionicle, and it shows here. Listen to him talk about what it was like to recreate beloved characters so they could appeal to a new generation of fans and what he's really looking forward to next year. He also has a special message for the fans and the community! Go continue on to see for yourself! View the full article
  2. While at the LEGO Bionicle VIP Event during New York Comic Con, BZPower had the opportunity to talk to Zdenko Santini, the Art Director leading the line and an employee of Advance. Listen to him talk about the process of designing the new characters, creating the animations, and what he's excited for next year. You might also get some cool info about what you can expect! Continue on to watch it for yourself! View the full article
  3. During the VIP Event at the Flatiron LEGO Store, BZPower interviewed Kari Vinther Nielsen, Associate Marketing Manager for the LEGO Bionicle theme. Find out what she does, what she thinks of Bionicle, and learn absolutely nothing of what's coming next! Because we all want to be surprised, of course. Continue on to check it out! 4. The BIONICLE website was not the only one to receive updates lately, as so have the Minifigures and Friends ones. I can't really tell you what new contents the latter has to offer, but the former now highlights series 12 and the Minifigures Online game. Both offer a new layout similar to the one of the BIONICLE website and you may observe all three have a website footer different from the rest of LEGO websites. Could this mean a LEGO.com redesign is in order next year? I certainly wouldn't mind to get rid of those huge Flash elements on the main site. View the full article
  5. LEGO is giving people yet another chance to win an exclusive transparent Tahu mask by retweeting their tweet. If you don't win, don't worry, as I hear BZPower has got a bagload of them, so keep your eyes peeled for contests and raffles on the forums! -- Adrian View the full article
  6. Aanchir has found another press report at BrickJournal with more pictures and all set descriptions. I can't wait to get my hands on them! -- Adrian View the full article
  7. Over on the Bionicle Facebook page, the slides from the New York Comic Con Bionicle panel have been posted. There's a lot of great concept art and images of the upcoming sets and animations, and it's all awesome! If you consider yourself a Bionicle fan you need to drop everything and check it out right now! View the full article
  8. BZPower was fortunate enough to interview Jordan Paxton, Core Line Product Specialist, at New York Comic Con 2014. Find out what it is that Jordan does, his involvement with Bionicle, and how important the old fans were to the line's return! To see what we learned, read on! View the full article
  9. After New York Comic Con on Thursday, LEGO held a special VIP event at their new Flatiron LEGO Brand Retail Store. In addition to giving out transparent Hau masks and t-shirts, attendees got to build with a lot of the new Bionicle pieces! It was an awesome event and a great opportunity for fans to the line to talk with the creators of Bionicle, and a once in a lifetime event. I hope everyone had as much fun as BZPower did! Read on to check out what it was like! View the full article
  10. BZPower Blog Assistant Nukaya takes us on a tour of the LEGO Bionicle booth at New York Comic Con 2014. See what there was to see, including the animated teaser and a peek at the sets! Read on to check it out! View the full article
  11. BZPower was able to attend the LEGO Bionicle panel at New York Comic Con 2014. The Bionicle team of Steen Lindeberg (Marketing Director), Cerim Manovi (Creative Director), Zdenko Oliver Santini (Art Director), and Rob Johnson (US Brand Manager) talked about the process of bringing the theme back, designing the sets, and creating the animated shorts to help promote them. Continue on to watch it for yourself! View the full article
  12. The Hollywood Reporter reports that a LEGO Batman spin-off of The LEGO Movie will be coming, presumably 2017. Will Arnett will reprise his role as The Dark and Brooding Knight, Seth Grahame-Smith will write the script, Chris McKay, animation supervisor of TLM will direct and Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be producing. I just hope they don't start milking the LEGO franchise to death now - then again, I was very skeptical about TLM at its first announcement and Phil Lord and Chris Miller will have some involvement in this, so there is some hope we may be getting at least the funniest Batman movie to date, if not more. How do you feel about this? View the full article

  14. Didn't win the exclusive transparent Tahu Mask in the draft yesterday? Fear not, LEGO is giving you another chance - same rules apply, just retweet to be entered in the draft. Good luck! -- Adrian View the full article
  15. New York Comic Con started yesterday will all kinds of panels, vendors, guest appearances and show floor exhibits. BZPower was there for the invite-only panel with The LEGO Group, but beforehand we were some of the first to see TLG's booth on the show floor. That's right, Bionicle is coming back in full force and LEGO wants everyone at NYCC to know. Check out just what LEGO put on to make a good first impression to the convention-goers. 16. Another week has come and gone, meaning it's almost time for a new episode of LEGO Legends of Chima on Cartoon Network. A Very Slippery Slope will see our heroes finally go on a raid against Sir Fangar's ice fortress in an attempt to rescue his prisoners. Will Laval and his friends manage to succeed? Tune in at 7:30 AM Eastern, or check your local schedule, to watch and find out! View the full article
  17. We briefly interrupt the BIONICLE hype to bring you some other news: Cartoon Network tweets and LEGO retweets that Batman will be back in an all-new special event called "LEGO DC Comics: Batman Be-Leaguered" on Monday, October 27th 6/5c on Cartoon Network. The tweet shows what seems to be a scene from LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes but I assume there must be more to it than that - perhaps they will show a movie comprised of LEGO Batman 3 cutscenes? Tune into Cartoon Network in 17 days to find out! View the full article
  18. Reporting from New York Comic Con, Comicbook.com presents information of the new/old line presented to press by LEGO accompanied by finalized renders of all the Toa, Protectors and the Lord of the Skull Spiders sets, along with pricing, set numbers and even piece counts. The Protectors will cost USD 9.99; Lord of the Skull Spiders, Gali, Lewa and Pohatu USD 15.99 and Tahu, Kopaka and Onua USD 19.99 each. There are set descriptions as well but they are a bit messed up so we will have to wait a bit for better ones. I know you've all been waiting for this moment - so get crazy discussing those sets! 19. Missed collecting masks in 2001 and 2002? If you retweet this tweet from LEGO, you will have a chance to win an exclusive transparent Tahu mask from NYCC! Of course, the more people retweet the less likely it is you could win (and I'm actually harming myself by letting you know of course ) but this is just too good a chance for any BIONICLE fan who couldn't be there to pass. I just hope they will make more than only one available through this. View the full article
  20. A long time ago, on the mythical island of Okoto, all lived in harmony. It was a place of wonders and beautiful landscapes. From the island's elemental forces, two brothers, known as the Mask Makers, created Masks of Power. Each brother had a special mask: Makuta owned the Mask of Control and Ekimu the Mask of Creation. The brothers provided the islanders with many masks but Ekimu's were the most treasured. His brother became envious and forged an evil plan... View the full article
  21. The BIONICLE page on Facebook has yet again been updated: Meet the 6 heroic Toa from LEGO BIONICLE. It is their destiny to find their masks of power, battle evil and save the island. There are two pictures of pretty high resolution for each Toa, showing off awesome dual-function weapons and cool scenery in the background. The wait is finally over, folks - and it was worth it. Which new Toa is your favorite? View the full article
  22. The BIONICLE page on Facebook has been updated with a picture reading "A New Journey Begins" - on the picture we see a very interesting landscape and the six Toa - or Masters, as they are being called so far as well (the website calls them both). Check it out and stay tuned to @BZP_Tweets for live coverage of the NYCC event! View the full article
  23. The BIONICLE website has been updated, now sporting an awesome promotional shot with some of the characters and the villains and yes, those characters are indeed our beloved Tahu, Gali, Kopaka, Pohatu, Onua and Lewa. There are short bios for all of them, too. Check it out and stay tuned to @BZP_Tweets to follow live coverage of the NYCC event - for example it's just been confirmed that BIONICLE 2015 is a reboot. More information incoming! View the full article
  24. Allen over at The Brick Fan brings word of a new Guardians of the Galaxy polybag featuring Rocket Raccoon! The minifig is the same as the one from the San Diego Comic Con Rocket's Warbird set and includes a sapling Groot (so adorable!) and a sticker sheet (an odd choice). The packaging has a 'only at Toys 'R' Us' logo on it, so I'm sure we can expect this to appear there in the near future. View the full article
  25. Over at Eurobricks, Aanchir has made an interesting find: Someone on Flickr has been at NYCC for preview night and took some pictures of displays, including one of the BIONICLE display, showing a brick-built Mask of Creation and a big backdrop showing a lava scenery. I'm absolutely sure this is only going to be a small fraction of what LEGO has in store for NYCC and what seem to be screens above the backdrop may hint at LEGO showing a short (or not so short, who knows!) promotional movie - only one of the many reasons to look forward to the event later today. BZPower will be there and live-tweeting, so stay tuned! View the full article
