  16. American LEGO-artist Nathan Sawaya is heading to London, England, for his first exhibit in Britain this month. One of a dozen LEGO Certified Professionals worldwide, Sawaya is best known for his large statues and sculptures, including giving Stephen Colbert a life-like statue of the comedian on his show, all made from LEGO bricks. His "Art of the Brick" exhibit opens on September 26 at The Old Truman Brewery in east London. "Part of my mission is to make art accessible," Sawaya said in an interview with The Independent, knowing people will have the same brick medium at home after being inspired by his display. Having been to an amazing LCP exhibit myself for Adam Reed Tucker, I can only hope that everyone takes this chance to see Sawaya's work up close who can. View the full article
  17. Another project has reached ten thousand votes of support on LEGO Ideas. The Labyrinth Marble Maze by JKBrickworks is unlike any Ideas project that's reached its goal yet! It's an interactive game where you use two dials to move the board under a ball, causing it to roll. Navigate the ball through the maze without falling into any of the pits and you win! It's definitely a unique project, and I wish it the best of luck! View the full article

  21. The Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) recently released the results of a survey they conducted to determine the top toy brands, both around the world and in the UK specifically. Across the pond, LEGO came is as the top brand for boys and the number three brand for girls. Additionally, LEGO Friends is the number six brand for girls. The only other brand to appear on both lists is Mickey Mouse, putting our favorite bricks in good company - it's no wonder they're the world's largest toy company! View the full article
  22. Let us not forget what happened thirteen years ago today. We were here at Kanohi-Power and BionicleZone back then, and we all lived though 9/11/01 as a community. Thirteen years later, we are still here, members are still here -- and the site, the members, and the world are just a little less innocent because of that day exactly thirteen years ago. The world is now different, as is our community that has lived through a difficult time - it is important to remember all those who lost their lives. View the full article
  23. The Ninjago television Show has had some great music in the past, but there was no easy way for you to listen to it outside of the episodes. Well, that will come to an end soon, as an official soundtrack is now available for preorder on Amazon. The music by Jay Vincent and Michael Kramer will be on an audio CD and currently costs $13.98. It looks like most of the tracks are from the first season, so hopefully future albums will come out to cover the rest of the music from the show. View the full article

Unfortunately, it won't be life-sized but still impressive enough to blow your socks off. After spending over 1000 hours in creating a digital model, Thomas is now ready to construct the physical thing - if he reaches his goal of $15,500 CAD, which will be 60% of the cost; the rest he will pay himself. Backers will get a number of benefits. Check out the Kickstarter page if you want to back this impressive, 100kg/200 pound LEGO creation or if you just want to see some stats and renderings.
