  2. The trailer for the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game was released at San Diego Comic Con. With an array of characters to rival the LEGO Marvel video game, the trailer boasts heroes, villains, and all kinds of different outfits as you take to the cosmos to stop Brainiac and anyone else determined to make the world a less-than-ideal place to live (and probably steal a city for historical cultivation). Check out the trailer on Comic Book Resources, and preorder yours for an exclusive promotional item! View the full article
  3. In a reveal that didn't come from Comic Con, the full lineup of the twelfth series of Collectible Minifigures has been found. You can see the group shot on TheBrickFan's page, and figure out which ones you'll be searching for. They're set to be released in October, but will continue to sell at the higher price of $3.99. 4. Today is the last day of our anniversary week, and I think it's been a great week to celebrate thirteen years of BZPower and to start our fourteenth year! We had a lot of great announcements that I hope make everyone's experience on our site more fun! If you haven't yet, there's still time to enter our raffles where you can win some awesome sets, including some Legends of Chima constraction sets not available in North America! I'd like to take this final moment to thank everyone again for keeping BZPower going for thirteen years and for being so awesome that I look forward to logging on every morning. Let's hope we keep going for many more years to come! View the full article

  7. This review is coming to you at lightspeed, thanks to Star-Lord and his new friends in keeping the galaxy safe! Equipped with some sharp weapons and Star-Lord's Element Gun, the Guardians of the Galaxy take to the skies in the new set The Milano Spaceship Rescue. Just who or what are the Guardians rescuing? Will they survive the encounter against Ronan the Accuser and the Sakaaran? Read the review, and watch on, to find out! View the full article
  8. I think we all knew this was coming (or thought it had already happened), but now it's official. According to Toy News, LEGO will be releasing a full range of Minecraft sets in normal minifig scale. Teasers of such sets have already appeared, so hopefully we'll be seeing the final sets soon. A cool part of the deal is that LEGO has been working with Minecraft players to design the look of some of the characters, animals, and items. It's always great to see such collaboration. 9. As our anniversary week continues, today we're realizing that after thirteen years, one hundred kilobytes of space is pretty small for your avatar and signature. So starting today, avatars and signatures can take up a combined 250 kB of space. Additionally, embedded images can now go up to 750 kB before they need to be linked to instead of 500 kB. What cool things will you show off with all this space? View the full article
  10. BrickFair Virginia is less than a week away! This fun-filled fan convention hosts the largest gathering of BZPower members and staff each year, and 2014 looks to be no exception. We try to plan some things off the official schedule for us, and there's still time to join! While we reached the goal for our crowdfunding campaign, you can still sign up to reserve a spot during our laser tag and pizza party. The party will start at 7:15 PM on Saturday, August 2, a little later than anticipated, but with as little overlap as we could manage. Additionally, there's still space in our parts draft of 44021 SPLITTER Beast vs. FURNO & EVO. You can pay for both of these in person, but signing up online (even if you select that you'll be paying in cash) helps us know how many people to anticipate so we can plan accordingly. I look forward to seeing everyone there! View the full article
  11. A new LEGO game is available in the iTunes store. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril is available for USD 4.99 and features over 91 playable super hero characters in 45 action-packed missions to chase down Cosmic Bricks across the Marvel universe. If you download it on your computer and then sync, you'll need "only" 1.1 GB of space, otherwise you'll need 2.2 GB for the installation. For that price and size, make sure the game is something for you before you get it, but it looks pretty cool from the screenshots (reminiscent of the video game, as you would expect). Check it out! 12. Let's take a short break from San Diego Comic Con news, because it's time for another BZPower set review! Today BZP Reporter Xccj critiques 76014: Spider-Trike vs Electro. Is this worth slinging you way to the store for, or did they blow a fuse when they made this? Read on to find out. View the full article
  13. Seriously LEGO, MORE Comic Con reveals? Kotaku has word of 76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestro, featuring Green Lantern and his spaceship, Space Batman, Sinestro, and of course, the power ring. The set will retail for $19.99 and be released in January 2015. It looks like it's be a great little set and probably a huge seller. Alright, is that everything? Or is there more San Diego Comic Con stuff to come? View the full article
  14. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed The Hobbit: The Lonely Mountain, a set that will tie in to this winter's The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies coming to theaters December 17th. I can't say I'm a big fan of the Smaug figure, but the interior of Erebor looks pretty rad. The set will retail for $129.99, contains 866 pieces, and comes with five minifigures: Bilbo Baggins, Balin, Dwalin, Ori, and Gloin. View the full article
  15. For the past few years at least, we've been trying to add a new feature to BZPower during the anniversary. This year is no different, and today we're unwrapping the Quiz System! Are you the ultimate font of LEGO knowledge? Now you can see if you know more than everyone else! In the long term, only Premier Members will be able to make polls, but while everyone still has Premier perks, anyone can make one! Of course, all members will be able to take quizzes and compare your scores to the rest of the site. Head over there now, and you might see a couple of old favorites to help get you started. 17. I want to stop posting these stories, but I know more will probably be coming today and I don't want to get too far behind. From Bricks to Bothans has a press release from LEGO giving a good overview of the events, activities, panels, displays, and exclusives that will be at San Diego Comic Con. There's a huge amount of stuff, but the thing that stood out to me (for all of us not attending) is that if you follow @LEGO_Group on Twitter, you'll have a chance to win the exclusive minifigs! LEGO sure is pulling out all the stops this year, and the show hasn't even started yet! View the full article
  18. The official Star Wars website has a cool story up. Apparently at San Diego Comic Con there will be a massive display case showcasing every single minifigure and character from the LEGO Star Wars line over the past fifteen years - over six hundred of them! The ever-awesome Erik Varszegi designed and built the case, which is over 6.5 feet high, contains 54,404 LEGO bricks, took 500 hours to design and build, and weighs 268 pounds. What's more - many of the figures came from Erik's own collection! That is dedication to your trade. View the full article
  19. Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah - Batman! Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Caped Crusader, LEGO will be selling a set based on the Batmobile from the classic TV show at San Diego Comic Con, Complex reports. Unfortunately it's a cartoony take on the vehicle, and more unfortunately it's a convention exclusive. It's still a pretty awesome set though, and I'm sure it'll sell out fast! View the full article
  20. LEGO loves spreading the news around - this time, MTV drops the bomb on a 2015 LEGO Star Wars set, 75084 Wookiee Gunship. Based on the upcoming Star Wars Rebels TV show, it will be available in January 2015, contains 570 pieces, and will retail for $69.99. Additionally, they've revealed a sculpture of Chopper, the astromech droid from the show, made up of 11,774 bricks, taking 143 hours to design and build, standing 36 inches tall, and weighing 58 pounds. I have a feeling the LEGO booth is going to be a hot spot of excitement this weekend! View the full article
  21. The final exclusive Sand Diego Comic Con minifigure has been revealed! Over at USA Today they're showing off Zur-En-Arrh, one of the more interesting Batman variants from over the years. Along with The Collector, Bard the Bowman, and Uni-kitty, they'll be in high demand over the next few days. Which one is your favorite? Will you get them all? View the full article
  22. We know you're a fan of LEGO, but how do you feel about comic books? If you're a fan and you'll be at San Diego Comic Con this Saturday, July 26th, you're in luck! From 5 PM to 6 PM, freelance LEGO artist Paul Lee and writer Rachel Lareau will be at the LEGO booth signing and giving away an exclusive LEGO Batman comic. You can see some previews of the comic in Paul Lee's Flickr photostream. It looks like it'll be a really cool issue! View the full article
  23. I'm sure we've missed an announcement or two about San Diego Comic Con, but let's attempt to catch up. If the Guardians of the Galaxy and Hobbit statues revealed last week weren't your preferred IPs, then how about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Yesterday IGN unveiled a life-size statue of Shredder that will be on display at the con later this week. The massive construction is 7 feet tall, weighs 174 lbs, contains 35,322 LEGO bricks, and took LEGO master builders 269 hours to complete. With all these statues, will there be any room for actual LEGO sets or employees at the booth? View the full article
  24. It's day three of our anniversary week, so why don't we give out some more free sets? (Fair warning, we can only do this for so long.) Today we're starting up a new raffle for two Chima constraction sets! 70206 CHI Laval and 70207 CHI Cragger aren't available in North America, but you can win one by entering on BZPower! The raffle is open to all members at no cost, so there's no reason not to go do it right now. Good luck! View the full article
  25. Recently, for no apparent reason, we asked you about flood control. It seems a majority of you are fine with the current setting for posts, but that search flood control could use some help. So as a test, we are adding a new perk for Premier Members - no flood control for searches. Depending on how the server responds to this change, we may tweak the settings a bit more and change them for non-Premier members as well. Or we may have to turn it on again if the server buckles under the pressure. We'll have to wait and see. If you're a Premier Member though, go enjoy some new freedom with the search feature! Not a Premier Member? We have a sale right now and a new, cheaper package available. View the full article
