  1. Thanks to a couple especially generous contributions over the past couple of days, we have reached the goal, as well as the stretch goals, of our Crowdfunding Campaign! The BZPower community never ceases to amaze me - you're the reason I log on every morning and why BZP is the last site I look at every night. If you still want to attend the pizza party and laser tag, you are more than welcome to contribute and reserve your spot. Additional funds at this point will be spread around between laser tag, more pizza, more video equipment, and supporting BZPower's operating costs. Thank you to everyone who donated or spread the word, we couldn't have done this without you! View the full article
  2. There's less than a month until BrickFair Virginia kicks off at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly from July 30th until August 3rd, and BZPower will be there in force. We're less than $200 away from reaching the goal in our Laser Tag and Pizza Party Crowdfunding Campaign if you want to shoot your fellow members and eat pizza. There's still plenty of spots left in our Parts Draft of 44021 SPLITTER Beast vs. FURNO & EVO, and we're now letting you pay via cash or check instead of just PayPal. If you can't make it to the event, you can still send your MOCs on the convention circuit to get them displayed and get cool perks. You can contribute to the above crowdfunding campaign too and get free Bionicle polybags and more. BrickFair is always a blast and I look forward seeing everyone contribute! View the full article
  3. It's time for another LEGO set review, and this time we're diving into the Technic section to look at 42021 Snowmobile. BZPower Reporter Xccj looks over this set to see just how good it really is. Is it worth a trek across the frozen tundra for? Read on and find out. View the full article
  4. Over in BZPower's Flickr Group Tufi Piyufi has kicked off the BZPower Flickr Contest - July 2014. You've got until Monday, July 21st at 11:59 PM Eastern to build a sweet constraction MOC and submit it to the group. The winner gets a copy of 70209 CHI Mungus, a story about their MOC on the front page of BZPower, and their MOC will be used as the banner for the Flickr group! What are you waiting for? Get building! View the full article

  6. Making sure this Californian LEGO convention is not overshadowed by BrickFair on the opposite coast the weekend before, Bricks by the Bay is returning this year, August 7-10, in Santa Clara, CA. Registration has just opened for both full weekend attendees and Sunday visitors. Like any convention, this will be full of MOCs, AFOLs, keynote speakers, assorted panels and more for attendees. Visitors are also welcome on Sunday to check out the impressive array of MOCs from all kinds of themes. The Bricks by the Bay website has all the details for being a part of the action. 7. I looked back through the archives, and while I may have missed it, I think today is our first review of a LEGO Architecture set. It's certainly the first one I've built, and the 4000010 LEGO House is a particularly interesting place to enter the line. If you're interested in learning more about this special edition set, read and watch on! View the full article
  8. Two-hundred and thirty-eight years ago our founding fathers created the United States of America. Today we celebrate their hard work and the hard work of all those who have helped to keep us on the path towards equality and freedom for all. I hope everyone enjoys their barbecues and fireworks but make sure you take a moment to remember everything it's taken to get us where we are today. Happy Fourth of July! View the full article
  9. The LEGO Ideas team has finally revealed the long-awaited Exo Suit set by Peter Reid with a pretty awesome video animated and directed by LEGO fan Chris Salt, including green classic space minifigures. The seventh LEGO Ideas set so far will become available on LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores early August. I think it's fantastic to see such cool projects come into fruition from LEGO Ideas and I'm confident we've still got a lot of awesome projects ahead of us. Read on to watch the video! 10. Disclaimer: I'm not sure if The LEGO Group is okay with these being made and sold - I've asked but am still waiting to hear back. But if you buy one and they're taken down later, LEGO certainly isn't going to try to take the shirt back from you. Okay, that said, on the website Redbubble, an individual going by the name Drumasaurs has made some Bionicle-themed t-shirts available for sale. They're a bit pricy, but some of the designs are pretty cool. Go check them out and see if they're worth it for you to pick up! View the full article
  11. It's been a long time since I've had to do this, but here we go: for years BZPower has had a very clear policy regarding leaked and preliminary content. This policy is still in effect. Until we hear something official from LEGO, there is nothing to talk about regarding any purportedly-leaked images which may or may not be real. View the full article
  12. It's time for another BZPower Hero Factory set review. Today BZPower Reporter Xccj glances at 44026 Crystal Beast VS Bulk. Is this set a gem to be greatly values, or is it merely another dusty rock? Read on or watch the video to find out for yourself! View the full article

  14. We still haven't seen any official images of the LEGO Ideas (formerly Cuusoo) Exo Suit that passed the review last year. But the entry's designer, Peter Reid, has started posting some interesting images that might be related to the set. There's also a that helps tell this story. Perhaps we'll be seeing an official release soon; either way it seems Peter Reid will be posting more pictures so if you're interested stay tuned to his Flickr stream! View the full article
  15. If you thought we'd be done with LEGO website updates for today, you were wrong. The Marvel Super Heroes website now features a teaser for the Guardians of the Galaxy sets, counting down to July 25th, as it seems. There are product pages for three sets, including small bios for the minifigures and you may also enjoy the nice group shot of the Guardians. I wonder what they'll have in store for the 25th. Meanwhile, I'll be Hooked on a Feeling... View the full article
  16. It's time yet again for some website updates! The Legends of Chima website has been updated with a new icy design, new products, new characters and more. For some reason, the US website actually lists the ultrabuild figures in the products section, although they are not supposed to be released in the US. There is plenty to discover for Chima fans and for those of you who may suffer under warm temperatures, the new icy design of the website may even chill you down a bit, so it may be worth a visit. 17. BBC News has a story indicating that Merlin is planning on building a new LEGOLAND theme park in Nagoya, Japan. There are currently six parks open around the world, with a seventh to open in Dubai in 2016. This new one, two hours outside of Tokyo, is scheduled to open in 2017. The project is estimated to cost 32 billion yen ($317 million) and is being funded by Merlin and Kirkbi, a holding company owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family. If you're living in Japan or plan to visit in three years, definitely put it on your list! View the full article
  18. Allen over at The Brick Fan received a scan from the July/August issue of the LEGO Magazine that reveals some more of the Series 12 Collectible Minifigs. The image shows Piggy Guy, Spooky Girl, and the Prospector, all of which look like cool additions to the series (love that new teddy bear print!). I'm sure more images will keep popping up as we get closer to the series releasing! View the full article
  19. July is here! Among other things, that means that our previous New Member Raffle for the Minecraft set has ended and a new one has kicked off. If you've recently joined BZPower, or join right now, you can enter the Arctic Helicrane 2014 New Member Raffle for a chance to win a copy of 60034 Arctic Helicrane, generously provided by LEGO. The raffle runs until the end of August, but that's no reason to wait! Click the link on the top of the site and register today to join the fun on BZPower! View the full article
  20. Not content with the fact that the Thinking With Portals Cuusoo project (now Ideas) didn't make it past the review phase, BZPower member Ghosthands decided to make their own Portal-based creation. Still Alive... is an excellent take on GLaDOS that pays a lot of attention to detail and does its best to represent what you see in the game. The use of custom decals, while not purist, really helps the MOC pop and come to life. Now good luck getting Still Alive and Want You Gone out of your head for the rest of the day. 22. After announcing LEGO Fusion a couple weeks ago, LEGO has now launched a teaser site for the line. There's a quick video for each of the sets as well as some additional information about what the products are offering and how they'll work. Hopefully this is just the beginning of the marketing push to help make this a successful product launch! View the full article
  23. We're halfway there! The weekend we passed $600 raised in our BrickFair Virginia Party Crowdfunding Campaign; as promised, it means we're announcing a new activity taking place at BrickFair Virginia this summer: a parts draft! Everyone loves LEGO pieces, so who doesn't want large bunches of the same kind? We'll be getting ten copies of 44021 SPLITTER Beast vs. FURNO & EVO and ten people can buy in to participate. Cost is $20 (the cost of the set but with no tax or shipping) per person and you can buy a ticket in the store now! There's only ten spots, so if you want to help grow your constraction collection, go grab one now! View the full article
  24. Living up to his namesake, Bulk's Drill Machine is bulky - and that is a good thing! The amount of armor and muscle portrayed in this set prove he is the right Hero for the job when drilling the terrain and searching for threats from below. Today we dive into a review of just how well Bulk does his job with the tools at his disposal, and what tools LEGO has given him. Will he fight off the invasion or cause a cave-in? Read, and watch, on to find out! View the full article
  25. Today it's time to look at another summer Hero Factory set, namely 44029 QUEEN Beast vs. FURNO, EVO & STORMER. BZPower Forum Assistant Nuju Metru has taken a look at the largest Hero Factory set coming out this year and will be sharing his thoughts on it with you all. Will this queen of the invaders break through into your own home or will it lay a big fat goose egg instead? You'll have to read and watch on to find out! View the full article
