1. Word has come to us recently about a cool new app that will soon be out there for iOS. Mini Mi allows you to design your own minifigure, or shake your phone to come up with a completely random combination. The developer tells us there are 3,805,928,543,217,530,000,000 possible configurations (that's over three sextillion) and there's still more surprises to come! I know they're also working on an Android version, so fear not if you don't have an iPhone. If you do though - go check it out!View the full article
2. We asked you all to participate in a survey from LEGO back in June and today LEGO shared some results with us. They noticed a few interesting trends in our responses, which you can see when you read on. Also, if you're one of the people who doesn't know about the CEE team, I encourage you to go check their blog. Kevin, Kim, and company have a hard job supporting the fan community and deserve to have people know about all the things they do for us!View the full article
3. Today's the day I resign from the BZPower staff, as I get ready for college, and I knew for a while that I wanted to commemorate this with an opinion piece of some sort, but a topic is hard to come by. A simple retrospective of my time on BZPower seemed both uninteresting and self-centered, and any other subject I could think of seemed irrelevant to the event. I decided instead, not to write an opinion piece, but rather, a note of thanks to the online BIONICLE communities of BZPower and BS01. I have had a marvelous experience enjoying our favorite LEGO theme with you since I joined in 2006, and the experience is so full that I can't express it well enough in one editorial.View the full article
4. Normally when we shine the spotlight on creative works on BZPower, it's an individual MOC or story or piece of artwork or something. This time, however, we're highlighting an entire forum: LEGO RPG. If you like telling stories and enjoy some of the non-Bionicle themes, you should head over and check it out. You can jump into some of the existing games and become a character in universes like Ninjago and Exo-Force, or you can write your own RPG and make your own setting for others to partake in. So head on over, join in a game, and have a blast!View the full article
5. Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but this set seems like it came out of left field. Regardless, the LEGO Architecture Studio is now available from shop.lego.com and is selling for $149.99 USD. It contains over 1,200 pieces and sells with a guidebook written and endorsed by an impressive list of leading architects. If this is your area of interest, this box of bricks contains a far better variety of pieces than a classic multicolored tub.View the full article
6. It has been confirmed by LEGO that they will produce a line of LEGO Simpsons sets. The sets, scheduled to be released in early 2014, will initially start as small sets, and depending on demand, might increase in size. Read on over at the Huffington Post and leave your comments in the talkback. Discussions have been springing up on the LEGO Message Boards, and we'd love to hear what your have to say.View the full article
7. Pictures have been floating out there for a while, but this is the first official word I've seen of Series 11 of the Collectible Minifigures series. The official site has been updated with pictures and descriptions of the new wave of minifigs. There's some 'repaints' of older designs, but some new cool ones too. Keep your eyes peeled for them to appear on store shelves!View the full article
8. This one-of-a-kind mask was for sale earlier this year and now it looks like the Platinum Avohkii is up for grabs yet again. If you don't mind picking it up in Northern California and have an extra $17,500 to spare, go check it out! I think this is probably out of all of our readers' price range, but it's an interesting sighting, nonetheless.View the full article

10. The Hero Factory: Brain Attack app has recently been released for Windows mobile in addition to its iOS and Android counterparts. You can download it on tablets and computers using Windows 8/RT. It features all levels as well as summer characters, but you unfortunately cannot enter hero codes or synchronize progress with the Lego website. If your Windows device is starving for a new game, go ahead and give this one a try!View the full article

12. Finally! I am relieved and delighted to announce that the FTL: Faster Than Light CUUSOO project has reached 10,000 supporters at last. This qualifies the project for the review period beginning in September, but after that it might be a while until production. We can only hope our patience will be rewarded with some great little spaceship sets.View the full article
13. Gatanui has reported that the Hero Factory website has been updated with some new content. You can check it out right here, so head on over. 15. BrickFair VA 2013 is a few days away, and if you live within a 3 hour drive of any LEGO convention I would argue you should make the trip to visit or attend said nearby convention. Why? Because attending such an event is one of the most fun things you will do with your year! You'll make new friends, get to truly geek out, and grab some exclusive LEGO gear not found in stores. Still need a little convincing on why a day-trip or full-weekend vacation is worth your time? Read on.View the full article
16. July is almost over, and before I get completely caught up in BrickFair fun, I figured I should post the next episode of the BZPowercast. You can download it right here or pick it up via iTunes or RSS. Here's a preview of what you can expect:
Episode 49 marks four years of the BZPowercast - hoorah! This month we start off by bringing back Than the Moa to subject him to a Staff Interview. Then Windrider comes by to do a How-To BZP about all the awesome Anniversary fun. Emzee joins us after that to talk about the recently-held Brick Fiesta event in Dallas, Texas. And things close off with another dramatic comic reading from Hahli Husky and Janus. Happy Anniversary BZPower!
View the full article

18. At some point I think we've all wished we could build full-size structures out of giant LEGO blocks. Dark Roasted Blend's compilation of LEGO-themed architecture and construction projects shows us exactly what that would look like. We may have covered one or two of these in the past, but it's worth giving the entire collection a look.View the full article
19. There's less than a week until BrickFair Virginia! If you haven't already registered, there's still time, and you can at least come to the public expo on Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th from 11AM to 4PM. You can also still buy tickets to our Laser Tag and Pizza Party on Saturday evening which should be a blast. And don't forget the free concert by Nervous Pudding on Sunday at noon. Both are open to everyone whether or not you're at the full convention. I'm super-excited and can't wait to see you all there!View the full article

23. Going to BrickFair Virginia next week? Happen to live in Northern Virginia? Well it just so happens then that you're going to be in the perfect spot for an awesome concert! BZPower Members Windrider, Princess Grr, Comrade Gato, and Calles are also members of the rock band Nervous Pudding, and they're putting on a show for you all. This free concert will take place at noon on Sunday, August 4th at E.C. Lawrence Park Amphitheater. The venue's address is 5040 Walney Rd, Chantilly VA, about two miles away from BrickFair. If you don't have a car, fret not, the band is providing a shuttle service from BrickFair to the venue - just contact Princess Grr, aka Andrew (not me) in advance of the show. They're putting on this free show as a special gift for BZPower Members and BrickFair attendees (although it's open to anyone) - I hope a lot of you can make it!View the full article
