  1. White Walls - Between The Buried And Me
  2. Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've) - Buzzcocks"You make me feel like dirt, and I'm hurt~"
  3. 'Atom Heart Mother' was released on the album of the same name after Ummagumma and before Meddle and is longer than 'Echoes' by like 30 seconds. It's pretty good.
  4. Hey Jane - Spiritualized"Ain't got time to make no mistakes with you~"
  5. Not familiar with that one, honestly. =PIt's an unreleased cover of the blues standard 'I'm A King Bee,' which they recorded during the Barrett era.
  6. I keep meaning to listen but I haven't had time and I HAVE HEARD SO MANY GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEMAlso Radiohead are my favorite band of all time, just saying.
  7. Animals is significantly more prog than The Wall or DSotM.
  8. Underneath It All - Nine Inch Nails
  9. They were pretty well-known before he left. They performed 'See Emily Play' on Top of the Pops three times, and 'Arnold Layne' cracked the top 20 charts in the UK. I'm aware of the political connotations on Animals. All the George Orwell parallels make it fairly obvious, and that's if you don't actually listen to the lyrics. It's still a good album.
  10. Insane, definitely, but drugs had something to do with that insanity. I have no doubt he was a good guy and creative, but I just don't find his music all that good. I do not mean to offend, but it's just a difference in personal taste. And, I totally disagree with you on that if you actually look what that album did. It changed music during that era because of it used different techniques in music. It was groundbreaking music, honestly. I don't wish to argue with you, because we have a difference in opinion.I'm so offended right now you don't even KNOWlikesomeone doesn't agree that syd barrett was awesome? ive never been MORE OFFENDED IN MY LIFE(i'm kidding.)Anyway in all seriousness, DSotM might be influential but that doesn't make it good. It has some good material, and it's not a bad album in the slightest, but WYWH, The Wall, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Animals, and Meddle are all better in my opinion. Plus everything on it except maybe 'Us and Them' is incredibly overplayed. Also on the subject of Syd Barrett, his solo career was fantastic. If anyone likes his work with Floyd (ie- 'See Emily Play,' 'Apples and Oranges') you should definitely check out some stuff.
  11. >advising not listening to syd barrett>pink floyd topicwatSyd Barrett was a freakin genius. Not his fault he was also kind of insane. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is easily one of Floyd's greatest albums. Also Dark Side of the Moon = one of the most overrated albums ever. Also also, can I make the personal request that we keep album titles italicized and song titles in quotes/inverted commas to avoid confusion?
  12. ...So I guess I'm the only person here who hates Rush. Woo.Also LL361, I recommend King Crimson's '21st Century Schizoid Man' as a good starting point. It's accessible.
  13. guyshow about Aphex Twinpretty chill
  14. I Love A Magician - The Dismemberment Plan
  15. I want him to finish Tapeworm, but that's not going to happen.
  16. Got Crack the Skye by Mastodon, Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Emergency & I by The Dismemberment Plan.
  17. Discovery by Daft Punk. I'm going record shopping later today, so I'll have some more in a few hours.
  18. Out of Step (With the World) - Minor Threat
  19. It's Summertime - The Flaming Lips
  20. Die In The Summertime - Manic Street Preachers
  21. Windsurfing Nation - Broken Social Scene
  22. ...He was being sarcastic.Monster - Kanye West ft. Bon Iver, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj
  23. I dislike Tyler because his entire shtick is just so dumb. He's vulgar and bigoted for the sake of causing controversy and getting attention. He's like a leech. Also he's really homophobic. That said, I like Yonkers, Sandwiches, and She.Frank Ocean is excellent and is one of the only two parts of OFWGKTA I really care about (the other being MellowHype). The collab'll probably be at least on par with No Church In The Wild.
