i never got the hype over chimaira. they always seemed like second-rate groove metal to me, boring as heck toothough i did like that they got Phil Bozeman on a track, he's srsly one of my favorite vocalists

really? i bought The Gallery on a whim a while back and it was pretty great, definitely worth at least one or two listens. i still prefer the other "big 3" gothenburg bands over them but they're still pretty coolalso yeah zep is mos def rock, hard rock at most. decent though, i had a phase where i was addicted to them. you could also consider them proto-metal is you prefer

VH1 classic is pretty awful too, and so is That Metal Show. probably because they don't ever get into heavier stuff

Malchior have you checked out Decibel mag? they're a little harder to find on shelves by way of being pretty underground but they're one of the best metal publications imo, since they cover almost every subgenre (even including a little hardcore here and there). every issue also comes with a flexi disc which is a cool little bonusalso if any band had to be added into the big four in place of anthrax it would probably be Testament

i'd say they're still thrash, just a less heavy form of it. their middle-era stuff was definitely less thrashy though (not that i don't love "Only")

just check out the two vids they released from The Hollowthey're the first two tracks from the album anyway, if you don't like those you won't like the albumokay so The Great Fire is pretty solid, not as bad i remember BT being so that's always nice. not too big on the dude's cleans but they're not awful. they are pretty heavy for the genre. wouldn't actively listen to but would not mind having on in the background
