  1. kvelertak is amazing dude, glad you like ityeah crosses should have it's own topic, but i'd prolly die :[ also they're associated to a metal band so i feel like it's not too wrong to discuss 'em i know the feel dude, i got the same reaction when i mentioned not liking FFDP in here. i just try to be nicer so we don't get into silly arguments like this. i do believe you should be able to express your opinion however you want, but right now that's not really gonna go by cleanly :/
  2. they're not hugely popular, which is a shame because i honestly feel they're more talented that the metalcore giants that headline tours it's not that you dislike it, dude. saying "OH GOD WHY" just comes off as rude and elitist. i feel that way about some bands, but acting like that (especially irl) doesn't really make anyone a fan
  3. i think it's just the way you worded it. i mean "OH GOD WHY" isn't exactly the kindest way to say "i dislike these guys". i got your point though, it's your opinion so you can have it :] i try to word my opinions in a none harsh way but i feel like people should avoid getting so butthurt when somebody states their opinion. def check out Children of Fire, it was one of my faves last year. if you just want a quick way to get into them, listen to Hush Yael, Claws Of A God, The Family Ruin, and Endseekers. Those were probably my faves from the album. also Means To Believe if you want to hear their softer side
  4. i can see where you're coming from, they're odd. i thought they were really powerful, but they are not for everyone. NO H8 BRO <3
  5. eh, true about crosses, but there's really nowhere else to talk about them (unless we made a topic which would undoubtedly die, plus they can get in by rule of association i say)also have you listened to Children of Fire by Oh, Sleeper? i can understand being "why" to the old stuff but CoF was on a whole other level oh, that sucks man :/ the farthest away i've gone for a concert is 4 hours, warped is two hours from me (1 and a half hours away is the lowest any concerts have been for me excluding local bands)
  6. the where do you live comment was actually directed towards Rarity, hahai caught a bit of prada at last year's warped tour, had to leave early in the set though due to some stomach problems though. they were pretty good live thoughedit: alright, crosses is awesome
  7. i enjoy a fair share of new Prada stuff, and Oh, Sleeper is genius. gonna see them both in March. i'm not a big fan of groove metal in general so that's why i don't like demon hunter. no hate towards them though, i respect what they're doing.i thought Warped came to most states though. i'm curious, where do you live?
  8. dude, really? that's an insane priceone of the benefits of listening to more underground metal is not having to deal with crazy high ticket prices, the most i've pay for a show was like $25 (excluding Warped and Allstars, which don't really count since they were more like festivals than anything else)also is anyone here besides me excited for Warped? the line up looks so good this year can't say i am. i've never been into Demon Hunter, i've always found them boring :/
  9. go for it dude! if you enjoy the band then seeing them live is one of the best ways to support them. i can't comment on them live (via hating that style of music) but i'm sure seeing them would be fun for a fan. dunno how well you'd be able to mosh at a show like that though, what with tickets being super expensive for bands that popular I saw a video for one of their songs about a year ago when I saw As I Lay Dying's Headbanger's Ball episode. Not bad. Also, Dorek, if you read this, the Crosses EP was fantastic and I agree with you so much on that point.-Teezyif you wanna get into them more basically check out both of their eps. the best of both eras really. get ready for mad BREE BREEs on Doom though. probably one of the few bands that was good with pig squeals.also i really need to check Crosses out
  10. so any of you guys like Job For A Cowboy? Doom is totally classic deathcore, plus they're not too shabby as a death metal band now as well
  11. I'd consider Chevelle alt. metal (which probably isn't enough metal for most of the people in this topic). I actually haven't had a chance to listen to the new album yet, even though I have it >>. FttF was decent enough, but it wasn't quite wow-y like Jars had been previously, so I dunno what that says about the new disc.eh, if we can mention Emmure without inciting too much hate Chevelle is fair game. i need to listen to them sometime. aren't they like Tool-lite musically? never checked them out so excuse any ignant opinions
  12. ^ Yay! c: i don't mind it actually. maybe it's my short attention span, but like 90% of the time long albums bore me. example being Vildhjarta's debut. some great, great tunes on there but it's so hard to sit through. also peripheryshort album master race
  13. checking it out right about now EDIT: Mind PMing me a link? there are a ton of bands named Haddonfield apparentlytruth. especially BtM. it's like Brain Drill if they knew how to write songs!also my friend just told me about this weet band called Dance Club Massacre. Think deathcore + symphonic black metal. good stuff. also, they did a rendition of 99 bottles of beer on the wall. the whole thing.
  14. you guys excited for new Stick To Your Guns? The Hope Division was excellent, and so was the last single they put out
  15. i can understand why you'd say that, especially if all you'v heard was stuff like Children of Cybertron, I Thought You Met Telly And Turned Me Into Casper, and their Acacia Strain diss track (featuring one of the lulziest lyrics ever). shame i can't mention the title here. i still stand by Goodbye To The Gallows as a legitimately good album, while the rest of their stuff is good in a different way. i won't get all hateful towards for not wanting to though, because i get where you're coming from.just a quick comment on the mindset of "there's better stuff out there so why try something a lot of people dislike" is really silly imo. i understand that way of thinking, and that's the same one i used to have, but i still think it's a little... childish, i guess. not trying to be insulting but i just disagree with the concept. it's like saying "hey man, between the buried and me is the best progressive death metal band around so why even bother to try anything else". mini-rant over.have you at least checked out the new Veil of Maya? it's streaming on spotify if you don't like downloading leaksdat soundclip in Punisher is so perfect, oh man
  16. i know what you meant but this sounds pretty sillyalso laughin man you should try listening to emmure's first album if you haven't because it's pretty different from their current stuff. also check Last Words To Rose from their new album, it's a step above what they usually do
  17. yesthey're 2deep4uI SEE A FIRE IN THE SKYi dunno if i'd say GttG was melodic hardcore, i usually think of stuff like Counterparts when it comes to that. i think felony is more where they got all nu-metally and then speaker of the dead they made those elements awesome instead of just stupid
  18. i know my meshuggah dude, I've done my fair share of listening to them. Kidman is just a really boring vocalist imo. meshuggah is still good, but i think they'd be even better if he had some variety.
  19. also thisyou know thinking about it Emmure and Meshuggah are not that different. both basically do nothing but chug and throw in a few dissonant things every now and again. the only real differences are that Meshuggah does it all in weird time signatures and Emmure is fronted by a deathcore version of fred durst while Meshuggah is fronted by one of the most boring vocalists in metal.i am looking forward to SlavE To ThE GamE way more than Koloss though, even if i enjoy both bands.
  20. i'm not really feeling them, unfortunately. i've never been big into industrial metal, though. i can't hate though, they are certainly talented. looking them up though i see that they had Dirk Verbeuren play on an album, which is sweet because he also played on Goremaggedon by Aborted, which just so happens to be one of my favorite albumsalso, you guys are going to totally hate me after this but i now non-ironically enjoy Emmure. they are incredibly lulzy and stupid but i can't resist them for some reason
  21. well the new Veil Of Maya and I, The Breather albums leaked. they're both pretty good, especially VoM's (but then again, how could it not be?)
  22. is it better than Arch Enemy? because imo AE is one of the most boring bands around
  23. I'll give you a 5/10 on that oneyou've got the spirit, but your execution needs to be a bit tighter.
  24. deftones were no doubt the best thing to ever come out of nu metalalso it looks like i'll be seeing Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn, and Arkaik in april! madexcitebro
