It's not as large as I thought it would be, oh well. It was probably meant for small children anyway. Now to see if I can procure a good mask…

So I won a $50 WalMart card in a raffle, so I used it to buy a Rayven and Vortex Proton.

The Rayven is cool and shoots pretty well. I like the glowing darts a lot. Good to finally have a semi-automatic blaster. It's absurd with the 35-drum attached

I bought the Proton because I wanted to see what the Vortex blasters were like, and it's the smallest and cheapest. It didn't disappoint. I haven't been able to test the supposed 60-foot range, but from what I've seen from firing it indoors I don't doubt it. (e: after a quick range test outside, I can say that yeah it can definitely reach 60 ft., the only problem being that the discs are a bit slow) It's wider and more boxy than dart guns, but it's no bigger than a Maverick (and it's a bit shorter). I like the way it loads, too, even if it isn't the fastest way of doing it.

Also it's snowing, what the heck.

If I do I'm painting my Raider light yellow with pink accents, my Alpha Trooper light blue with rainbow accents, and a new Maverick pink with darker pink accents (the one I currently have is a Whiteout and I don't want to paint it).

I will name them Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie.

I'd leave the internals and ammo clips unpainted, though.

e: And only now do I realize how April fools-ish this sounds. I actually mean it. HvZ needs more ponies.

Some guy was selling a Raider for $20, drum and stock included.

    I bought it.

    The drum is big.

And now I have a stock for my Alpha Trooper.

I'm still a zombie, but I like it anyway.

Got tagged on the first mission, awriiiight.

Lasted like 24x longer than last time, though!

And now I can put my creepy mask to good use.

Pretty good considering I was standing two feet from one of the OZs at the start (she was a friend of mine), and then I dropped a couple of clips when running and had to go back to get them.

Then I went out two more times, first to sweep the University mall for darts (that's where the game started, and where I blasted my OZ friend with an eight-dart burst), then to look for my zombie bandanna (seriously I lost it last time too, and I had seen it when I went to dartsweep but I didn't realize it was mine at the time, aargh).

Now, the real trick will be getting to and from work and classes, since they're back-to-back and I don't think my Alpha Trooper can fit into my tiny work locker. Looks like I'm stuck with a Maverick and socks on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

So has anyone else played it before, and what were your experiences?

(OKAY I think we're good now)

So Humans vs. Zombies is like this giant game of tag played on college campuses and other such places. For about a week, usually, two teams (humans and zombies) run around trying to catch or avoid each other.

The humans get to use Nerf guns and socks to defend themselves against the zombies. If they hit one, the zombie is stunned for ~15 minutes. If they get tagged by a zombie, they become a zombie for the rest of the game.

It starts out with one or two "alpha zombies", but soon enough a bunch of humans get tagged and the zombie team steadily grows as the human team shrinks.

The game ends when all the humans become zombies or all the zombies are "dead" (a zombie must tag someone every 48 hours or they "starve" and are out of the game completely).

Rule variations abound, but that's the general sense of it.

I've played one game so far, last semester, and this semester's game starts on Monday (oh god oh man).

I kind of failed last time because I missed some of the opening meeting and I didn't know the alpha zombies would be unmarked for the first hour (humans wear yellow caution tape bands, zombies wear red caution tape bands). So I was zombified within the first hour of play and spent the remaining week chasing after people. It was embarrassing but it was oh so fun.

I even joined a large group in staking out one of the dining facilities' late-night meals, and it was awesome.

And I still haven't been able to get my hands on one of these.

Other than that, though, I have a Magstrike, Maverick, Alpha Trooper, four extra clips, a bandolier, and at least 150 streamline darts.

The circles on the thingy are binary. Filled is 1, empty is 0. Was going to do Matoran numerals but I couldn't fit the details in.

(it's a super secret agent message, quite covert stuff)

Aargh I wish I didn't have to use the scanner because it made it look all stupid.
