    Has been oodles of fun.

I'd managed to finish up my Rapidstrike build on Sunday, and it is everything I'd hoped it could and would be. It empties a 35-drum in about 5 seconds. Absolutely zero conservation of ammo. It's a dart hose.

But anyway I died Tuesday.night near the start of the first mission. I knew I was going to be targeted since I've gotten to be one of the bigger names in the game. So I only brought two sock flails and wore the zombie tape under my sweatshirt to save time.

I managed to stun like ten of them though! But they got me on the second rush. Acted as a heck of a distraction though.

Then I got to go zombie for the rest of the mission and then the rest of the week. Playing zombie is so much fun. And I got to use my Stupidstrike and modded Stryfes before then, which was really all I wanted out of the game.

But now I don't know what to do next semester. Part of me wants to be one of the OZs, but another part of me wants to just run with the Stupidstrike all week.

    Woo!

New for me this game are my two Stryfes. I got the Stryfes when they were going for about $6 at Target recently. They've been gutted and motor-swapped, so now they're loud and stupid powerful. I decided to keep them running on AA batteries, though, because running them on 7.4 volt LiPo packs probably wouldn't be HvZ-legal. Same for the 11.1 volt ones. Gonna go through a lot of AAs, though.

I'm hoping I can finish my Rapidstrike/Stupidstrike rewiring tomorrow, so I can use it.

I also made hip holsters for the Stryfes from one of the boxes they came in. If I combine those with the back holster for my Roughcut, I can look really stupid!

Excuse me while I just Glitch Mob for the next few weeks.

(This is where my sig is from.)

(I feel obliged to turn every burp into "we are" from now on.)

So last night was the first show of their new tour circuit, and it was in Maine, so naturally I had to go.

Was accompanied by my best friend, my roommate, and my roommate's friend.

We were also first in line because we showed up two hours before the doors opened. We ended up in the first row of seats, which is about midway back because there's a lot of standing-room floor space at the front.

    I got some video!

That's my voice freaking out over the awesome setup at the beginning. My camera's bad so you can't see it, but each of the three had their own set of four Lemur pads plus other controllers at their station. And then giant LED MIDI conga drums. And whatever the heck you'd call those massive LED MIDI drums behind them. It's different then the setup I'd seen them use before in videos, and it's amazing. The patterns on the back screen were synched with the ones on the drums! It was really cool!

In addition to stuff from their new album, they played some songs from Drink The Sea (Animus Vox, We Swarm, Drive It like You Stole It, Fortune Days), Warrior Concerto and We Can Make The World Stop from the WCMTWS EP, and their remix of Derezzed.

Downsides were that it was very loud, and while I could definitely handle it sometimes the songs would drown themselves out which is a shame because I really like most of them. Other downside was that it only lasted about two hours, while the two opening acts (Penthouse Penthouse and Ana Sia) lasted an hour and a half between them and weren't nearly as good.

Also I'm really sore from all the air-drumming I did.

Paying too much for Oban t-shirts.

    NOT CARING AT ALL.

(If I had known they'd get back to me about it today I'd have waited to put those BrickLink orders in, oh well, not like I needed my next paycheck for anything else right.)

Apparently the Aikka one I ordered was the last XL of that design they had.

    That kinda makes me sad.

I shall protect it even more intently now.

    (I added bunny ears.)

Not really, but they're there to balance the space out better and add more dimension to it.

Also replaced the duct tape with hot glue so it's not as ugly now. I plan on possibly covering the entire thing in fabric at the end so that should help smooth out the raggedness that's there now.

Still need to add more foam, though.

It's certainly different than The Glitch Mob's previous work.

I'm probably going to buy it (having listened to it on the pre-release stream they put out), but I'm going to give it a bit of time first.

I imagine I'll get used to the different sound, because at first I was a bit iffy about Can't Kill Us, but now I really like it. Skullclub is also growing on me.

I'll be seeing them live in less than a month anyway so I kind of have to like it.

I take bad pictures with my computer because I have one light bulb in my room and no other camera.

    - New torso, upper section/shoulders based on that random black & white titan-thing I sent to some conventions last year, ball/socket in about the middle for at least some semblance of articulation

    - New I-couldn't-be-bothered arms, hands made with black battle droid limbs as fingers

    - Basic thigh constriction is the same, but with Rahksh heads moved to hips to better fill space

    - Shins replaced with black Inika limbs (the joints on the Rahkshi limbs she had were too loose at the ankles)

    - Feet given a couple of extra pieces to fill space, but mostly the same

    - Replaced Bohrok fang "hair" with 2m flex tube, replaced black jaw with light grey, replaced Visorak foot "hair" with blended GitD prototype Rahkshi foot

NOT ONLY do they have a new album coming out, they're touring the East Coast in March, and their first stop is Portland! Like, Maine Portland! Like, I-could-go-there Portland!

I am the excite, cannot words!!

    e: tickets purchased, eeeee

Man it is GREAT being back with all my LEGO stuff.

Everything's been at home all summer, and I haven't been. Except for this week because I needed to come stack firewood.

And I've just been up in my room like crazy, just messing around to see what I can make.

Already I fixed up Gavla, built the Makuta head, and now I'm trying to reconstruct my Daft Punk helmet's initial stage to see if I can actually try to finish it this time.

I had some large pizza boxes laying around last week, so I made this because I was bored.

My friend has made some noise about crafting things from foam, so I might be able to use this as a sort of template to make an actual detailed Vahi.

I've also been working on a new Enderman head. Bigger, squarer, and now with added fiberglass instead of only cardboard. And hopefully some lights.

And finally, more Nerf painting has happened. Made more progress in the past week or so than I have pretty much ever. Painted a Maverick to look metallic and worn, and I'm thinking of stenciling Avak's symbol onto it. I'm also working on the Rainbow Dash CS-18 (second go) and it's actually looking good this time. Rustoleum primer, man. That stuff is magical.
