    Ten years ago today, at least according to Wikipedia, the first episode of Ōban Star-Racers aired. To this day it has its place alongside Avatar and Code Lyoko as some of my favorite animated TV. Unlike those, however, the story only spanned one season and it seems like not as many people remember it.
     
    Having bought and read "The Art of Oban Star-Racers" gave me a new appreciation of the effort put into this show. And before that, I'd managed to snag a couple of t-shirts from the Oban Fan Shop, which unfortunately seems to be down indefinitely.
     
    I'm not the only one celebrating, either: this page went up to celebrate its original April debut in France, and has a bunch of behind-the-scenes art and stuff. Seriously, this show looked fantastic.
     
    (Also, the avatar I had before Sabine was Molly/Eva. Guess I missed that mark by a year or so, oh well.)

    Won this at the premiere of The Force Awakens as part of a charity raffle done by the local clan of the Mandalorian Mercs. Finally got it today, because I was on break and had a friend pick it up for me instead.
     
    I like it, but find the posing to be a bit difficult because she's not a force user so you can't do many "hand outstretched" poses, which is a bummer.

    Lakes

    I have been listening to Road to Jupiter constantly for the past couple of weeks. It's just such an amazing album. Some of my favorite songs are Atlas+Road to Jupiter (most of the songs segue into each other but this is the best) and As Stars Fall, but my favorite song hands-down is Lakes. I want it to be played at my everything.
     
    I greatly advise you to check out the whole album, maybe download it and listen to it in full seamlessly (on Bandcamp there's a delay between songs that sort of ruins the flow). All of Wolfgun's music is either free or name-your-price, so if you don't feel like you can pay for it you can still download it.
     
    Also, if you like Drum & Bass covers of English folk tunes, give Scarborough Fair a listen as well.

    Distance

    I think my project over the summer (or at least part of the summer) will be making a Code Lyoko themed level in Distance. I'm finally starting to wrap my head around the level editor, and even with the relatively limited simple shapes I think I can make it look relatively decent.
     
    Last night I tried to make a bit of the Desert Sector. I think it turned out pretty well, considering, but it's really just a start.

    2003 throwback

    I've been working on this Minecraft build for the past month.
     
    It was partly inspired by the cavern of pillars from the 2003 Rahkshi promos. Also partly by the depiction of Moria in the Fellowship of the Ring film.

    AvidyaZEN was streaming Distance this weekend so I hopped on for some multiplayer, and while I was a complete failure for most of the races, I actually managed first place on Corruption, beating my previous best (solo) time by over a minute. That inspired me to go back and get better in my solo runs, so I did. I've now moved out of the bronze age and have at least gold on every official track.
     
    Except Monolith. Monolith doesn't count. Monolith never counts. Monolith is awful.
     
    Also, HvZ is this week. Thinking of trying a socks-only run. We'll see how that turns out.
