1. So, yeah. It kind of speaks for itself. And this has caused some confusion on other platforms but, the first pic is actually of the moc too! other angles: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Ids5621/Rahkshi/img_20171001_130554.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Ids5621/Rahkshi/img_20171001_120355754.jpg
2. considering i own the set, yeah ive tried it. That robe seems great in principle, and seems like the ideal release from lego for turaga, but its usage is very specific and limited to its own proportions. TLDR: i dont think it looks good on turaga mocs, atleast those ive tried/seen
3. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what this is at first glance. This is Turaga Vakama, one of the latest additions to my series of miramax movie based mocs (joining the ranks of makuta, sidorak, vakama hordika, roodaka amongst others): He has a custom head, which allows for the eyebrow attachment, but boy is it a fragile connection. https://gyazo.com/4a81b74399fc02a162fc1f4a289ed6f7 leg https://gyazo.com/152b3ce85adcaa58ae4f81a2c0153912 chest https://gyazo.com/78878e0aab89b8237a543fae35905e14 back could be more elegant if i could get those grey pieces in dark tan https://gyazo.com/a3612885aed60a34fd2f5b78a3470905 with takua simple moc, but i think i'd venture to say the most accurate vakama out there. Thanks
4. Objectively the best? Apparently the public and LEGO disagrees since those "perfect" 2015 toa kept the brand alive Anyone have a scarecrow? I see a strawman argument It was a side comment, part of a larger post. I wasnt really focusing on it. I don't see how something can objectively be the best, personally. I think people calling people's geewunners is strawmanning tbh and dismissing other people views Well, color schemes are one thing but more articulation and better size are objective wins they have over the Mata/Nuva size preference is subjective. And if you wanna go there the inika have the best articulation of any bionicle sets to date. For some people aesthetic is very important

6. i love using terms that label any sort of dissenting opinion to your own. why demean people for having a different opinion. No one is saying G1 is perfection.....but G2 ending when it did kind of shows that G2 was further away from it than g1 "The sets were objectively the best" In what way? Is it the fact that the gear functions barely worked? Or was it the added pin textures to pretend it was like Bionicle and not Hero Factory smooth? Or was it the extended torsos that were longer than the chest plates? Or was it the fact that most the sets had to be modified by fans just to make them posable without hitting another part of the pieces? Or was it the contradicting color schemes on each character? Please enlighten me without the "Inika builds are terrible" argument. On that note, since you're bound to bring it up or someone will, no. I'm not a fan of the Inika builds after 2006. They worked in 2006 because they were brand new and innovative, but that's when Lego got lazy and chose to reuse them instead of developing new molds for 2007 onward. I definitely think the oversaturation of Inika builds led to Bionicle's initial cancellation. But back to G2, which also uses a reused body build type with one slight adjustment (the barely functioning gear system), also failed for lack of innovation and design. Slapping on a new chest piece with a thousand pin textures isn't innovative; it's just lazy. G2 failed on it's own account, and the thought that where G1 failed is responsible for G2's failure is an ignorant conclusion and really reaching. There's no need to be hostile. The 2015 Toa were, objectively, the best. Full articulation, functional gearboxes that did work, and I personally have not encountered the issue of armor preventing movement, but I assure you it was there in G1 as well. Subjectively the 2015 Toa can be whatever you want them to be. I don't have any particular liking for them myself. Objectively the best? Apparently the public and LEGO disagrees since those "perfect" 2015 toa kept the brand alive end of 2000 to early 2010 is 11 full years late 2014 to end of 2016 is "barely two years" got it ok settle it at 10 years then if you want to be petty. G2 is still only a measly 2 years
7. torchbearer brought it up I was more talking about the theme being handled as a brand rather than the sets
8. I think G2 was a victim of it own failures to be honest. While I can people thinking sets were cool (im not as big of a fan as many were), they were large, complex (often clunky in this regard) and expensive as compared to the clean, simple sets of G1, which I think might have been less appealing or attainable for kids. This is speculation however Never thought I'd see the day G1 was called "clean" over G2. bionicle g1 had an established aesthetic designed to look mechanical. G2 was hf smooth armor, with clunky shells tacked on attempting to emulate the original style without any real thought into true integration. 2016 got closer, but the point still stands.

10. But they did anyway. (Also, I did the math, not sure how 2010-2001 gets you 11 years.) Thats beside the point. Also he may have been referring to the story continuing for a bit after thanks to greg And sure, say they did try. Their efforts led to poor product that ended briefly after. Their efforts speak for themselves. They took the superficial aspects of bionicle and pumped it full of vacuous nonsense and expected it to stand on its own. And guess what, it didn't
11. What did they expect when they handled the franchise with such a lack of effort and passion.True tragedy. Most shallow LEGO themes last longer than this, honestly its really sad that BIONICLE (BIONICLE of all things!!) would have such a short duration. What a waste. Plus LEGO is just going to blame the brand again. BIONICLE has so much potential to honestly be up there with the best of franchises, but the reboot was yet another disappointment. It has well earned it place up on the shelf with the fantastic four and robocop reboot. Sad that BIONICLE has be put to rest again, when with the right touch it could be the huge beloved franchise it once was and more. On the plus side G2 is over so thats good
12. Kinda ironic since I remember that when Bionicle G1 was discontinued and it was well understood that it wouldn't be back for a while, many running "bring back Bionicle" petitions would obnoxiously quote the Axonn line from the Inika saga about how lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for. So I guess when Bionicle is still running, the lesson of the Inika saga is that hope is fragile and it's better to be a Debbie Downer, and when it's gone, the lesson is that anything is possible and hope should be maintained at all costs? I've MET a lot of the people who have been involved with the new Bionicle, on numerous occasions. I've heard directly from them how much effort they've put into making the new Bionicle the best it could be. If the new Bionicle doesn't appeal to you, I'm sorry you feel that way, but that's something you'll just have to come to terms with. Playing the blame game and insisting people you know nothing about "didn't even try" just because the many ways they DID try don't interest or appeal to you is both insulting and profoundly ignorant. I've seen plenty of comments on the official LEGO Bionicle Facebook page that have been very positive about how the new reboot's been doing. That said, I agree that the "Bionicle is like oil" comparison is fairly weak, because it's a product and not a commodity, and also because frankly the oil business is still one of the world's biggest industries so "shrinking", in its case, isn't the same as with something that has already fallen into relative obscurity compared to other themes like City, Friends, and Ninjago. Whether or not Bionicle is still popular enough to be sustainable, there's no denying it's not the monumental craze it was in 2002, and that other themes that resonate better with new generations of kids have surpassed it.Furthermore, Bionicle's fate is already being debated at length in other topics. Creating a new topic about it, no matter what the first post's perspective might be, isn't going to put the arguing to rest; it'll just put more fuel on the fire. And frankly, I'm tired of discussing this. Bionicle G2 will end when it ends. There's nothing to be gained by predicting when it will end or how close it is to ending — whether you have a positive attitude about its future or a negative attitude, you don't win any kind of special points or prestige for being right, and when it finally reaches its end it won't matter who saw it coming first.Instead of endlessly quibbling over how much Bionicle G2 we have to look forward to, better to just keep enjoying whatever we enjoy about it while it's here — and if you don't enjoy anything about it, then go back to doing whatever you DO enjoy as a Bionicle fan, or even just start spending more of your time on other interests, because nobody gains anything from you getting personally invested in the status of something that doesn't even interest you. It's doesn't matter how hard the guys behind the series tries, if they lack the vision, direction, passion and general intelligence when it comes to handling the property it was bound to be bungled. G2, regardless how many hoops you can jump through to defend it is such a massive waste of potential for such a rich captivating IP. They've stripped the heart and values of bionicle in terms of what made the story and lore interesting in the first place but kept the general superficial qualities. By all means it's a shell of it former self. I don't care how hard they tried (participation and "at least you tried!" trophies shouldn't be a thing), the failed to capture the public in the same way because the theme isnt really unique or interesting, and any interesting about it is simply borrowed from the old stuff. Heck all the lore and names and stories of any substance and stuff are being inserted retroactively after the fact instead of at launch. If Ryder had to fight the story team to even give major characters names (and from his interview it really seems the story team aren't really all that sure what they're doing) that's a red flag. All this "Debbie downer" talk is just to dispel any merit to people with legitimate criticisms about this terribly flawed relaunch Bionicle needs to fall into the hands of true visionaries like faber and Bob Thompson again, people with actual direction. Lego doesn't realise what they truly have with bionicle and seeing them waste such grandiose potential is genuinely upsetting. I wouldn't mind seeing it go if it meant it would fall into better hands later down the line
13. If i beefed them up, that wouldn't be like the movie. The goal here is for movie accuracy. In which case, bravo! Keep up the good work.

15. Special thanks to Kortess for designing this fantastic mask. Been wanted to put this together for a while after getting the mask but been at uni. Finally got a break home so i did this. Noticed someone recently put a similar moc up here, so i promise im not trying to steal anyones thunder. Just coincidental timing. Anyway, this is my best attempt to create a movie faithful Makuta. Obviously the colors are wrong since they're impossible lol. Also the red crotch, as im sure people will bring up, is red because it was red both in the movie and the set, and I wanted some dark red thrown in without going nuts. I guess Makuta likes getting busy. Also in the movie he has two thumbs. There wasn't a way to elegantly put that on a hand without making the hand too bulky or unsightly so i went with what I did. Also this way he can hold his staff in a reasonably realistic manner. Ill probably put up more shots soon, but my lamp currently broken. Lemme know what you guys think. Peace ~Ids5621~
16. just photoshop to jazz up the pic
17. Thanks! I might make more MOL matoran in future
18. Thanks alot! I hope to make more in future Glad you enjoy the show haha
19. Yeah, I let CBW use it for their chronicler series. Glad you liked my MOC/videos its not public? How do I change that?? D:
20. This MOC is actually a recolour of another MOC of mine (Poa) which was inpired by MOL itself. As you can see, this Takua is using the MOL colour scheme too (Very little blue and more grey). I actually tried shoehorning more blue on the MOC (such as the blue inner thighs, the feet and blue feet greebles), but to me it didn't look right. The concentrated blue on the face looks very striking in this case imo. gallery CC greatly appreciated
21. Thanks for the reply. Aside from the shoulders, (and if you go craaazyyy with the hips) the articulation is actually fine. The shoulders are kinda hindered by tyres n stuff.
22. This is a revamp of an old moc of mine. this one to be exact:LinkEven then, this is now an old moc. Haven't really posted here in a while. The new model was actually intended to be a Gali mistika revamp, but it looked better with a rau. Anyway, here she is:LinkLike most of my toa mocs, its meant to look like she is wearing armor over her natural armor. Hence why blue face, yet the rest is silver/black. OH and some of the pics are older, and you can see the first "hair" design showing up in some shotsLinkLegsLinkIn this pic you can see a rubber band. this is actually uneeded. Its just that the lightsaber holding the arms in place is really loose and the arms falling off was annoying. I should get one with more friction.LinkThis has to be the most fragile part. I literally cannot touch this moc 90% without these popping off.LinkWith Drex. He himself has since been revamped. In fact in this shot you can see the butt plate has been displaced.Linkmore shots can be seen on my brickshelf or deviantartDo NOT post images larger than 100 kB in BBC. -B6
23. Meh, i'm gonna have to agree with tillius on this. why is everyone so up in arms about it? Currently it has no real bearing on the storyline, and it seems like
Greg only picked velika because of the fact he was his favourite character. To be honest its very.....meh. Everyone thinks now there was some huge wave of evidence behind it from the beginning...but i don't think so. Pretty much any other character could have been picked and people would have found some contrivances that would have magically proved he was a great being from the start. Why is everyone applauding greg for this? The writing here is pretty much to raise his pet character to an elevated platform of relevance. Greg could have said a chicken nugget was a a great being and everyone would have been overjoyed, if not simply, because of the update. The way I see it the story has been pretty much a mess past 08, when greg deviated from bob thompson's bible, and the story has truly become useless reveal after useless reveal beyond bionicle's endNow I was one of the people truly angry when bionicle ended, but at the state at which the story was going after bionicle ended (i.e; the random shock value and pointless twists, the random story exposition reveal to fans outside of the serials), I prefer it to be left to fanfic, and to be picked up by LEGO again in future. Now I wouldn't mind Velika being the GB, but the whole thing was almost definitely tacked on way after the character was written and through random contrivances, any character could have filled that place. Plus anyone who thought Velika wasn't the GB was thinking to hard lol. Greg needed to pick a character to tack on this random, completely irrelevant-to-the-prior-plot-mystery to without too much contradictory backstory. Why not make it his favorite??
