Hey Everyone, I went to shop.lego.com today and noticed that 70787 Tahu Master of Fire, 70783 Protector of Fire, and 70778 Protector of Jungle are "Retiring Soon." Has anybody else noticed this? I find it strange that they would be retiring these sets when they've only been out less than a year. Link: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/BIONICLE-Theme ~KopakaFan116
Do you think Greg will finish G1?
masterchirox580 posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesSo as we all know bionicle G1's story was never finished, this is due to the fact Greg had a child in 2011, and that lego doesn't want him to give attention to G1 as it would conflict with the reboot. But despite all of this do you think Greg may one day finish the old story? If so then how and when?
Origins of the Bahrag and Kal
Lewa0111 Nuva posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesApologies if this has been answered before, but I wasn't able to find any information either way on the subject. Did Greg ever explain the origins of the Bahrag and Bohrok-Kal? I know Bohrok are transformed Av-Matoran, and that he confirmed Toa of Light cannot become normal Bohrok. Do Toa of Light become Bohrok-Kal and/or Bahrag, then? Were the Bahrag and Kal just created with the MU like most other beings? Are Kal regular Bohrok exposed to Protodermis (a sort of "Bohrok Nuva")? Been thinking a lot about Bohrok weirdness lately and this issue started bugging me (No pun intended ). Lewa0111 Nuva
Gen1 Fan Canonization Poll
Archon~ posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesSo since this has been an issue lately among some fans, I would like to conduct a poll where people can express their opinion regarding fan canonization. I feel that the questions and answers are reasonable, let me know if you have any complaints.
Creator of the Zivon
The Hip Historian Iaredios posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesI was looking for Rahi to MOC, and I remembered the Zivon. Though it is too large for me to MOC to be accurate with Inika builds, I noticed something after reading the BS01 article: The Zivon monster had no asigned creator. Now heres what I am pondering. Should we know who created the Zivon? If so, would it be a Makuta? I thought this should be discussed a little bit instead of blatantly asking someone to in-turn ask Greg. I personally think Chirox created it, maybe Mutran did it to one-up Chirox's creation of the Visorak, given their rivalry and all. What do you guys think?
Chat with Greg Farshtey Guidelines
Thormen posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesIn light of recent discussions regarding how to go about using the Chat with Greg Farshtey on the Lego Message Boards it's been decided to write a set of guidelines on this subject. Please note that these are not rules, but guidelines. You are allowed to ignore them if you want to. Chat with Greg Farshtey Guidelines (current draft) 1. Before asking a question, try to find out whether this question was somehow previously answered by official BIONICLE storyline sources. You could check BIONICLEsector01 for example, or even better: ask the question in this forum. 2. Provide as much relevant context in your question as possible. DO NOT purposefully try to hide relevant information from Greg. We want him to make an informed decision, we don't want to trick him into canonizing something he doesn't like. 3. Discuss the way you want to ask Greg a question with other people on BZP. Ideally, work together to write the actual question itself. If multiple people take a look at your question, the chances that guideline #1 and #2 are violated are smaller. 4. Make sure to present both sides of a question regarding something that may be controversial or ambiguous. The guidelines are essentially good advice written not only for you, but also by you. Anyone can participate: just post what you think should be added, deleted or changed in the guidelines and if nobody objects to your idea within seven days it will be incorporated in the guidelines listed in this first post. And when I say 'object' I don't mean a simple "I don't like it.", I mean people are supposed to present arguments against your idea. Do I think these guidelines will achieve anything if they are not binding? Yes, I do. The thing is, everybody who is on the LMB, including Greg himself, ultimately has the same goal: to add new awesome details to the Gen 1 BIONICLE storyline. Our opinions may differ on what exactly "awesome" is, but since we were all attracted to BIONICLE in the first place our interests can't be that far apart, and in any case Greg is the one who actually decides what the new story content is. I'm sure we can get somewhere if we take our common goal as a starting point and have a reasonable discussion from there on. So, to start off, here are my own ideas for a set of guidelines: 1. Before asking a question, try to find out whether this question was somehow previously answered by official BIONICLE storyline sources. You could check BIONICLEsector01 for example, or simply ask the question in this forum. If these go seven days without objections, they will become the first draft of the Chat with Greg Farshtey Guidelines. What does everybody think? Edit: Updated to incorporate guideline #4, which was unchallenged for 7 days.
Poll: Greg Farshtey
fishers64 posted a topic in LEGO DiscussionAfter witnessing my brain shift around on this, I have decided to try to get objective data on this subject. Please no flamewars. Criticizing Greg and saying that you don't like his writing/stuff is perfectly fine, but I'd rather not see people insulting Greg as a result of this thread. Go vote!
Hapka vs. Farshtey! (Tale of the Toa ending)
powerjala posted a topic in Bionicle DiscussionThere's been something that's been bugging me about the cannon of BIONICLE in the 2001-2003 era in the ending to BIONICLE: Chronicles #1 Tale of the Toa. In Cathey Hapka's version of the ending, when the Toa have their shadow doplegangers, they switch opponents and work together to defeat them. In Greg Farshtey's ending, the Toa absorb the shadow Toa into their bodies. Wait WHAT?! Okay honestly I liked the Hapka version better than Greg's confusing and kinda creepy version. I just think Hapka's version just seems more true to the story. What's your thoughts and what do you think is more cannon?
