This would have probably been my fav G2 set if it was real, I'm a big Mata Nui fan. This build was designed using purely the CCBS system except for the obvious Mask, Thornax Launcher & Shield. Excited to finally share it with you. Used part #11334 for his shoulders.

Had a lot of fun creating it. Swapped a few parts around for a more original light/athletic Tahu look. Also includes a new torso/chest build. Added red feet and hands + added metallic effects to his blades and golden armour. Wanted to keep the design simple and inline with the sets. The background assets were borrowed from the 2009 Glatorian Legends promo poster, I've reworked some of it to get a better overall aesthetic fit. Thanks for checking this out!

Hi, guys! Anyway, let me tell you some history about Lego's main constraction category in the 2010s: In the first half of 2010, Bionicle 2001-2010 ended with six small-ish sets with unbendable limbs. It's sad to see my beloved and long-running favorite Lego theme ended during this day. In the second half of 2010, Hero Factory replaced Bionicle as the main constraction theme. It went from 2010-2014. It ended with some unresolved cliffhangers. In 2015, Bionicle returned as Bionicle G2, which is a reboot to Bionicle 2001-2010. It was an exciting day for us Bionicle fans. However, G2 lasted two years, from 2015 to 2016, as it was cancelled in 2016 and never had its planned third year. It was unfair and very disappointing. It's like The Amazing Spider-Man movie series in 2012-2014 all over again. After 2016, there is no main contraction theme with an original story by Lego replacing Bionicle G2 right now. Because of this, we are encountering a Dark Age/Great Depression to the constraction category now. I mean, this decade is pretty bad for the constraction category for some reason. So, like the title says, which main 2010s constraction theme do you like better? Hero Factory or Bionicle G2? I know that both aren't as great as Bionicle G1, but which do you think is better? For me, I think both sort of. Bionicle G2 is, well, you know, Bionicle, and has fantastic trans-color pieces, masks, and blades in the sets, and the story ended this time. Plus, we got a Bionicle TV show (well, in Netflix, annoyingly). Hero Factory, however, has a lot of cool villains, the heroes have fantastic technology, has a better story than Bionicle G2, and has more TV 22-minute episodes. But, I might go with Bionicle G2 the most because again, it is, well, you know, Bionicle.

Since that horrible cancellation of Bionicle G2 happened, I started to compare Bionicle G2 to a movie franchise called The Amazing Spider-Man movies in 2012 and 2014 (you ever heard about them?). I noticed that there are some similarities between the two franchises, and they are: 1. Both are rebooted 2010s versions from the original 2000s versions that are modernized, used for younger audience, came around five years after the cancellations of the 2000s versions, got cancelled after two years since they started, and lasted shorter than their 2000s versions. 2. Each of both 2000s versions have good and bad reviews in their last installments before they got rebooted. 3. Companies who made the 2000s versions couldn't continue them, so that's why they made the reboots. 4. Each of the 2010s versions have two storylines. Bionicle G2 has two story years while The Amazing Spider-Man series has two movies. 5. Both the 2010s versions were planned to last longer, but they were stopped as they got cancelled. 6. Both the 2010s versions use different actors to play their recycled characters, as well as the characters are and look different from their 2000s versions. 7. Both the 2010s versions use new characters as well as the old ones. 8. Both have main protagonists who learn how to be a hero and how to use their powers. The Toa had to learn that they have to fight evil to save Okoto, use their weapons, elemental powers, and masks. Peter Parker from TASM learns to become Spider-Man after he got spider-powers by learning how to use them and it is his self-given duty to save and protect people from threats. 9. The heroes from both franchises change suits and get new equipment. 10. Most of each of the 2010s franchises' villains are new and the main antagonists are old ones from the 2000s franchises, but look different and have different lives. 11. The heroes get ordinary people to support them in their adventures. 12. The heroes determine to know the truth that is related and personal to them. The Toa want to learn about their past while Peter wanted to learn about his parents' disappearance. 13. The heroes learn something about their evil enemies' intentions. The Toa learned about the Skull Creatures wanting to steal their golden masks to steal their energy and Umarak the Destroyer seeking the pieces of the Mask of Ultimate Power. Peter learns about a secretly-corrupt company called Oscorp's intentions to do bio-engineering and genetic-altering. 14. Both the 2010s franchises have funny and agile heroes, who are Lewa and Spider-Man. 15. Both show more funny scenes than their 2000s counterparts. 16. The Lord of Skull Spiders and the Lizard from the first The Amazing Spider-Man movie are the first villains to be fought by the heroes, as well as they both attract creatures relating to them. The LoSS attracts the Skull Spiders while the Lizard attracts normal and smaller lizards. 17. Umarak is like the villains from TASM movies combined. Umarak is like Electro and the Rhino when he is hired by the main villain to help them (Umarak was hired by Makuta to get his Mask of Control while Electro and Rhino are hired by the Green Goblin to help him). The main villain also enhances them with things (Umarak got enhanced when Makuta used the Mask to turn him into his Destroyer while Harry Osborn (before he turned into the Green Goblin) gave Electro a suit to help him with his powers and Rhino with a giant metal suit to destroy Spider-Man). Umarak the Hunter is like the Green Goblin when he is a smart, green-armored guy who threatened to drop a good-hearted character that a hero cares off a tall structure in front of the hero (In this case, Umarak threatened to drop Ketar off a tall cliff in front of Pohatu while the Goblin threatened to drop a girl named Gwen Stacy from a tall tower in front of Spidey). When Umarak became the Destroyer, he is like the Lizard by being mutated with claws, Electro by being a mutated (never wanted to be mutated before the mutation happened) villain who has the most screen time than the other villains in the second installment and gets killed in the end, the Green Goblin by not wanting to be mutated into a freak, and the Rhino by being large and dangerous who appeared like that in the end of the second installment. 18. Pohatu and Spider-Man had to attempt to save beings that they cared from falling to their deaths. However, Pohatu saved Ketar while Spider-Man couldn't save Gwen, who is his girlfriend (Gwen died, and that was as traumatizing as Bionicle G1 and G2's cancellations). Plus, it's interesting that both Pohatu and Peter's names both start with a "P", and Ketar element, Stone, is the same as the actress who played Gwen, Emma Stone's last name. Lol. 19. Makuta is like the Rhino and Green Goblin combined. Makuta got mutated by the Mask of Ultimate Power while Harry Osborn was given a serum that turned him into the Green Goblin. They became stronger and got new armor and powers. They also both appear, fought and get defeated by the heroes and at the very end of the second installments and the entire stories (not too impressed, in my opinion). Makuta and Rhino are also big and last villains in the second installments and the entire stories to be fought by the heroes (Makuta got defeated while Rhino's battle with Spider-Man was never concluded sadly). 20. They both have a grudge against the heroes before they got mutated. Makuta was jealous of Ekimu, so he created the Mask of Ultimate Power and was trying to use it, but Ekimu stopped him by knocking the mask off from his face. Makuta later turned evil and wanted to defeat Ekimu and the Toa when he could get out of the Shadow Realm. Harry asked Spider-Man if Spider-Man could help him cure his disease, but Spidey declined, so Harry hated him and turned evil. 21. Stories from both the 2010s stories have shadowed villains who secretly serve as major threats to the heroes. Makuta is sort of like that before revealing his giant form while a man in the shadows in TASM movies works with Harry in creating the Sinister Six and defeating Spider-Man. 22. Both second installments sadly show major female characters with heroic hearts die in the end. In the 4th episode of The Journey to One, Gali died by having her soul sucked into the Shadow Realm, but the soul returned to her body, so she's alive again. Gwen, however, died from a fall from a tall clock building in the end of the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and stays dead (Poor girl. Why can't she be like Gali by being still alive? ). (To be honest, I originally thought that Pohatu is going to die instead of Gali because Gwen's actress, Emma Stone's last name is the same as Pohatu's element. Lol. Plus, Pohatu would have sacrificed himself to try to make up for his mistake of letting Umarak the Hunter take the Mask of Control when Umarak, as the Destroyer, proves too powerful for the Toa to defeat.) 23. Each of the rebooted franchises has both good and bad reviews and their stories are a bit rushed, which could be reasons why they are infamously cancelled. That really broke my heart twice. (crying in tears of sadness). When some people say that after their cancellations, they feel that the rebooted franchises could be sort of forgotten. Both rebooted franchises may have ended, but they may be able to have a future for their entire franchises in history. The Amazing Spider-Man series got cancelled because of mixed reviews on the second movie and Marvel Studios got back their Spider-Man movie rights from Sony as they both decided to share it, so Spider-Man could appear in Marvel Studios' Marvel Cinematic Universe movie called Captain America: Civil War, which was released this year, which is two years from TASM series's cancellation. Spider-Man will also get his own MCU movie coming 2017. Marvel Studios always makes very successful movies and people love the new Spidey (the new actor was well), so they would make new Spider-Man movies more successful than the old ones. Bionicle G2 got cancelled for an unknown, possibly because of bad sales and the story being too simple and rushed. It is unknown if Bionicle could back after 2017 because we know that there won't be any new sets in that year, but due to my analysis on the Spider-Man movies, I made a theory that would enlighten you: Lego would be planning to make a G3 in possibly 2018 and this time, they would be feature some Bionicle characters (mostly likely the Toa Mata/Toa Masters) into a Lego cinematic universe. It would be The Lego Movie Cinematic Universe where they will have major roles or a different cinematic universe based on Lego in general and similar to Lego Dimensions (imagine Tahu, Preston Stormer from Hero Factory, Lloyd from Ninjago, Laval from Legends of Chima, Clay Moorington from Nexo Knights, Flain from Mixels, and Emmet from The Lego Movie working together to defeat a common threat Avengers-style?). This would be similar to how Spider-Man first appeared in the MCU. Or something similar to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie this year in a better way where the Toa fight and/or assist some characters from other Lego themes to face a common threat (Imagine Tahu fighting or assisting Preston Stormer or Kai from Ninjago BvS style?). Or Bionicle could reboot as its own theme before it could crossover with other Lego themes. Either way, Lego would make successful stories and themes, like they did with The Lego Movie, so let's all hope that same goes to Bionicle as much as Marvel Studios is to Spider-Man. So, what do you guys think of all this? Good comparisons? Find my theory possible that Bionicle could back as G3 that way?

Since the start of 2016 I've been trying to build characters who have appeared in G2 Bionicle but have not had a set form (except the villagers). I feel I should shout out to Number_One_Ix's builds, who has also built the Shadow Spawn and Ice Shadow trap, but I felt some of the details could be improved. Anyway without further delay ... Makuta the Mask Maker Pictures Left - Back - Right I made two decisions while making Makuta. First I decided that any colour piece I could not find I would substitute with black, it blends with the trans purple well. Secondly I decided to give him green eyes like his brother Ekimu, after all he hadn't fully turned evil until he put on the Mask of Ultimate Power. Umaraks Shadow Spawn Pictures Left - Back - Right - Front Now this guy I had to build from screenshots of Journey to One. I had to go over things few times to get details like the knee spikes and tail colours right. Because he lacks Umaraks pauldrons, I raised his shoulders up and I filled in the gaps in his body with 3 length shells. Overall I'm satisfied with how this build turned out. (Noticed the spikes on his arms are one stud too high, oops) Ice Shadow Trap Pictures Left - Back - Right - Open Nothing here much different from any other Ice Shadow Trap moc, the white exo force arms do seem more accurate though. Not the best of the Shadow Traps I must say. Umaraks Forces Pictures With 7th shadow trap - All Shadow Traps - All Shadow Traps open Here are the rest of the pictures I took, enjoy! So please do tell me if there are any differences I missed, or any other characters I should consider building. Thanks for looking!

Hello fellow BZP-ers! Welcome to my first topic! So, since this is my first topic, I figured that I'd do something that's fairly large and unnecessarily complicated . So, as to preface this, I should note here that, as well as Bionicle, I'm a fan of Transformers, and in the Transformers universe/franchise, they have a certain way of naming/cataloging/labelling each universe, which I'll get to later. So, after studying their system of labelling universes, I decided that their system could be applicable to Bionicle as well, since, well, 'Great Spirit Makuta Alternate Universe' is a bit of a mouthful, and could easily be replaced with something less... mouth filling(well, kind of anyways, you'll see). Before I go any further though, I feel like I should note that the way I'm labelling each universe is about 95% completely based in how they(Transfomers writers) label universes, so I feel like I should mention the original creators of this system: Jim Sorenson, Trent Troop, and Greg Sepelak. Thank you! So, now with the painfully awkward introduction( ) out of the way, let's actually learn the universes! So, the universal labeling comes in three parts: universal cluster, numerical creation date, and the class of universe. So, first of all, we start off with a universal cluster name (in other words, what continuity family it is). I've compiled a list of (mostly Latin) names below, to use for this part: Primum (Latin for first)- this is the G1 Bionicle cluster/family Deinde (Latin for next)- this is the G2 Bionicle cluster/family Tertius (Latin for third)- this is the G3 Bionicle cluster/family (one day this will become relevant!) But wait, there's more! Caminus (Latin for forge)- this is the Hero Factory cluster/family Canthus (Latin for wheel)- this is the RoboRiders cluster/family Orbis (Latin for disk)- this is the Throwbots/Slizers cluster/family Qwadwahl (made up by me )- this refers to a strange little cluster where there are these fleshly little things called humans So next, we need the numerical creation date numbers. These are taken from the real world creation date of the thing in question (I should note here that most the dates I've gotten come from the BZP main page, when BZP first covered the topic in question). So, for example, let's take when Bionicle first came to America: July, 2001. So, in terms of the cataloging, it would go 701.0 (7=7th month of the year, i.e. July. 01= what year it was, 2001. .0 refers to an unknown date of release/publication.) So now the third part: the universal class (otherwise known as, the type of media in which it was featured in) These are taken from the Greek alphabet: Alpha: Animations (T.V. Show/Movie) Beta: Online Stories/Story Serials Gamma: Comic Delta: Commercial Epsilon: Exclusives (Toys, comics, story serial, etc...) Zeta: Prose work (printed stuff that's not comics) Eta: Audio Stories Theta: Online Videos/Animations Iota: Websites/online only stuff Kappa: Games (video, board, etc...) Lambda: Still images (such as battles in the centerfold of comics) Rho: Sets Sigma: Live Action/Performance Please note that, although certain universes started in one type of media, it doesn't mean that it can include or exclude other forms of media as well. So, now that we have all three parts to the universal steam designations, lets put it all together. To help in understanding, here's an example: Primum 701.0 Gamma. Primum refers to the G1 Bionicle continuity. 701.0 refers to when it was first released (specifically in America), July 2001, with unknown/inexact date of release. Gamma means that it a comic. (If you still don't understand what I'm on about, I don't blame you. I can explain it better in the comments if you so wish it) So, now you know how the designations work out and what everything in it means, here's a list of the 'official' universes seen thus far: Caminus (Hero Factory): Caminus 413.0 Zeta (Mirror World)Caminus 910.20 Alpha (the TV Series)Canthus (RoboRiders): Canthus 100.0 Rho (an approximation of when the RoboRiders toys released)Deinde (G2 Bionicle): Deinde 1014.9 Theta (the main G2 Bionicle storyline)Oribs (Throwbots/Slizers): Orbis 199.0 A Rho (Approximation of the Throwbots storyline origin)Orbis 199.0 E Rho (Approximation of the Slizers storyline origin)Primum (G1 Bionicle): Primum 108.14 Eta (Dark Mirror)Primum 109.26 Beta (Great Spirit Makuta)Primum 508.0 Epsilon (The Kingdom)Primum 509.27 Beta (Spherus Magna Alternate Universe)Primum 701.0 Gamma (Main G1 Bioinicle story we've loved for so long) (Could be Primum 101.0 Kappa instead)Primum 807.22 Eta (the Pit's dead Tuyet's universe)Prmium 1208.12 Beta (The Melding)Qwadwahl (real world): Qwadwahl 701/1200.0 Sigma (Us! )But, it doesn't end there folks! Due to the way that this universal system is set up, we could hypothetically determine the names of universes that aren't necessarily 'official', but must exist somewhere in the multiverse. So... Caminus: Caminus 710.25 Epsilon (Hero Factory comics, Epsilon because the first comic was released at Comic Con)Caminus 810.5 Kappa (Mission: Von Nebula and its later incarnations)Deinde: Deinde 115.1 Kappa (BIONICLE: Mask of Creation mobile game)Deinde 715.0 Lambda (Ambushed In The Forge) Primum: Primum 102.0 Gamma (Bohrok Promo Comic)Primum 306.30 Kappa (Piraka Attack)Primum 310.26 Theta (BIONICLE Battle Videos)Primum 403.12 Sigma (BIONICLE Blaster Ride)Primum 906.4 Theta (Piraka Online Animations)Primum 906.20 Kappa (VNOG)Primum 1106.14 () Kappa (BIONICLE: Heroes) (Parenthesis= C-Console, M-Mobile, D-DS, G-Gameboy) Obviously, I could go on, but for some obvious and possibly not-so-obvious reasons, I'll stop here. So, that's it pretty much. Nothing particularly new or groundbreaking here, just a silly little way to categorize your universes Tell me what you think in the comments, and maybe even list a few universes yourself!

We should ask LEGO to make the entirety of BONKLE 2016 clown themed. We can already change the name to 'HONKLE', fitting the clown theme. No, wait. THE ENTIRETY OF 2016. Along with this, we can bring back Hero Factory as 'Clown Factory'. Then we can extend Legends of Chima as 'Legends of Clowns'. Ninjago can become 'Clowngo', the masters of Clownjitzu. Roboriders can come back as 'Roboclowns' too, and Slizers... Slizers will simply become 'Clowns'. Galidor can come back unchanged. Already clownish as it is. Knight's Kingdom will come back for a third time or so, but as Clown's Kingdom. All minifigures will be that of clowns. All themes will be clownified. BZPower must become ClownZonePower to survive.

I HAVE A TRANSPARENT ORANGE HAU. It's so transparent. And orange. Trans-orange. It actually looks pretty decent on Tahu, although the transparency and being able to see the 'head' through the mask is kind of awkward which makes me worried for the gold/transparent blends coming this summer. Also an extra skull spider so that's cool too. and also LoSS but he's nothing special. Nice of LEGO to make his acronym 'LOSS' as a warning.
-
Which is your favourite Skull Skeleton? Which transparent colour do you prefer? What do you think of the gold+transparent blends of the masks? Why do you think Tahu and Gali don't have any? Skull Scorpio sucks? Do you think we'll get a Makuta set next year?
-
I really like the skeleton theme and thus they all look great to me. ... Skull Scorpion sucks though, Let's laugh at it. Ha ha ha ha. Its legs are less articulated than the Nui-Jaga's legs! Now, for a set using CCBS, I'd say that's quite the achievement. What prevents it from using that CCBS piece with the three ball-joints, with two sticking out, then having legs with Invasion From Below claws on the end attached...? ...if Ekimu can batle 'Big Skull Guy' as I have began calling him, why do the Protectors need to the Toa once Ekimu has awakened? THE TOA ARE THE SKELETONS AFTER THE PROTECTORS KILLED THEM IT'S WHY THEY HAVE THE MASKS

Well, Even though my entry got nowhere near winning the contest, that won't stop me from depicting it as an actual Okoto villain via the new style! (a style which is hard to emulate.) anyway, pretend there's a background, i'm not gonna try to emulate one of those. pretend he's spotted the golden mask or something.
