Aanchir posted a topic in LEGO DiscussionLEGO has made a LOT of sets containing dragons, especially in recent years. Brickset counts around 70 sets containing dragons, more than half of which were released in just the past five years. So out of curiosity, how many LEGO dragons do you have, and which ones are your favorites? Do you prefer molded dragons like the ones in LEGO Castle, or more brick-built ones like the ones from LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Elves? I'm not sure how many dragons I have from 90s Castle sets, but my twin brother and I have about 25 dragons from the past decade: the Kardas Dragon from LEGO Bionicle, Dragon Bolt from LEGO Hero Factory, twelve dragons from LEGO Ninjago, and eleven dragons from LEGO Elves. My overall favorites are Elandra the Queen Dragon from LEGO Elves and the Master Wu Dragon from LEGO Ninjago. I have a hard time choosing between them. Elandra is bigger and more lifelike, while Master Wu Dragon is more posable. Generally I prefer brick-built dragons over molded ones. A decade ago I might've had a different answer, but today there are lots of great hinge and curved slope pieces for building lifelike, posable LEGO creatures. Feel free to share your thoughts on LEGO dragons!

Picture this: You are an unquestionably evil bad guy (or good guy, it doesn't matter, but I think bad guy is more likely), and you have an enemy that you want destroyed so he can never return to the MU. Unfortunately, killing him doesn't work, since he will just come back, and you've already killed him once, so disintegrating him doesn't work either. You just want this fighting to be over, and this person just stay dead. You kill yourself so you are on the Red Star, where the Sendback teleporter is, right? Right? Now you are faced with a problem. If you break the teleporter, you will never be able to get back to the MU where your enemy is. You might have a messenger you can send back to kill him, but then you're stuck on the Red Star with your enemy for time and eternity. Fun. And maybe you could time-delay said destruction with a bomb...but this is the Red Star. Where are you going to get materials to build a bomb? Unlikely. But it's unlikely that you will ever get this choice anyway. If you die, you're probably just revived and sent back without ever seeing the RS. Disoriented, you are unlikely to find the teleporter. It's not like the Kestora are going to give you directions. * * * With this in mind, I theorize that the sendback teleporters are in the MU somewhere, possible near where the sendup teleporters are. This is because it is unlikely that a MU inhabitant would be on the RS long enough to deal with that teleporter or know where it is, and also because, even if they somehow could figure it out, the paradox above would get them in trouble. Unless they had teleportation powers, and then the disorientation/not knowing thing would still apply. (And if that machinery was up there and some guy had sat down and broken it, wouldn't the Kestora have connected the dots instead of going insane? ) By contrast, in the MU most beings are in command of their mental faculties and many have teleporter-breaking powers at their disposal. If the above scenario has any plausibility, said being would have to find the sendback teleporter(s) (which could be complicated if they are scattered throughout the MU) and break every single one. Or like have a virus to do it. (I mean if there is a Mata Nui sleep virus, there could be a teleporter-smash one. Much more plausible than someone finding out where the RS is and teleporting there pre-Mata Nui.) I also think it is implusible that the Kestora broke the teleporter - otherwise wouldn't they know? I don't think they were programmed by the GBs to be insane - I think the sendback breakage drove them nuts. So I just thought of this and started typing, so this one probably has more holes than swiss cheese. Feel free to point out any possibilities I missed that render this idea more insane than the Kestora.
Chima TV Series Review: Season 2: Episodes 21-26
fishers64 posted a topic in LEGO DiscussionSeason 2 Episode 21 This episode really drags in the beginning, but really picks up toward the end with the introduction to a new mystery. Oh gee Lavartis is creepy. Too much double-talk and secrets. Its clear that hes hiding something. Whether or not hes evil remains to be seen, but the black and silver headband suggests that he could be in league with the scorpions, etc. He also enjoys psyching Cragger out for some reason. He seems to like the Croc Legend beast, though, so maybe hes a little insane? All those years of exile in a dangerous place could have driven him over the deep end. Like the mystery building up here. Episode 22 Same as 21. Like the side-plot of Lavals father vs. Chi thieves. It clarifies some stuff. Still dont know how they got to Mount Cavora, but I have a feeling thats coming up shortly. Rogon: lol. Much enjoy the abacus thing abacuses are almost a running gag every time they appear. Episode 23 Not much to say about this episode. I liked the reveal in here (wont spoil it) and also the characterization for Lavartus. (He seems to be the focus, generally.) Also like the unique method Laval pulls out of his hat to win (although, granted, it might be mildly inconsistent with his earlier ego problems ). Youre just going to have to watch it to see. Episode 24 Not much to say about this episode. As per the title, we get more character development for Burbank, which is a nice change from Laval, Laval, Laval. Also Legend Beasts lay eggs? Theres more of them? Episode 25 Nice suspense thing going on, and more development for Worriz. The mystery between Lavartis and Crominous is good. Suspensealthough everyone knows the answer to this. Episode 26 Laval officially has plot armor. I thought he might have been mind-controlled by the scorpions I guess the big blasts dont work like that. Other than that, this is another one of those touchy episodes with much spoilers. I have to admire the animation/camera work going on with Lavartus, for reasons and people should stop throwing Chi into black holes. Thats dangerous stuff, kids dont do it. Final (ish?) Thoughts: Season 2 embraces the mysterious adventure type storytelling that Season 1 touched on a bit towards the end but never fully adopted. The characters of the series are now out exploring unknown territory, and other mysteries, such as the nature of the outlands, etc are now being explored and revealed. Theres a strong sense of continuity with season 1, however, so watching it is helpful to understanding what is going on. Also this series focuses on characters like Rogon and Burbank, giving them depth and development after a solid season of Laval, Laval, Laval, its a welcome change. Chima is what Id call an epic fantasy series. Yes, like Ninjago, there are vehicles, but they are all fantasy powered by Chi. As typical for these sorts of series, the characters are actually realistic. A good epic fantasy will touch on character strengths and weaknesses in order to convey its themes, but it also needs an element of mystery, humor, or suspense (and usually a combination of both) to drive the plot and hold the viewers interest. Season 2 attempts the mystery tack, and it does it okay, at least - leaving you with a strong sense of interest. The attempts at humor are pretty much centered on Rogon, and they do okay. The suspense thing is pulled off successfully in some places, where others it is completely undermined. I feel like Laval should have sustained something from that scorpion blast, yes? Oh well, moving on... Overall, season 2 is miles ahead of season 1's missteps, but it still has a way to go to get up to Ninjago or Bionicle quality (if it needs to get up there *insert debate here*...).
fishers64 posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesWe know that all Bionicle characters wear masks. If you've ever worn a mask, you know that this limits your eyesight to the sides, kinda like a tunnel. Do Bionicle characters really suffer from this? Such a limitation is never mentioned. If not, how do they overcome it?
What do you want from Lego?
fishers64 posted a topic in LEGO DiscussionThat Lego isn't currently giving you? If the people from Lego were to sit down in front of you and say "Since we have a ridiculous amount of money and plenty of time on our hands, what can we do for you?" what would you say? And if the first thing that comes to mind is "Bionicle return", then why do you want it back? What do you want out of it? A MMOG? Character X as a set? Or just for Greg to update the serials already? Just because? But if not, and even if so, what do you want in general?

Bzprpg: Legend Of The Primes
Axilus Prime posted a topic in EpicsWell, here is is! The epic concerning the backstory of the Pyros/Primes. It will retcon quite a bit of information that wasn't well thought out, but will present the story in a fully chronological and sensible manner. It should clear things up for all of you RPers who brought the Aukati and Phantoms to where they are today. So, without further mind-numbing speeches and explanations...Oh, and here's the review topic. Be sure to post your thoughts!Chapter One: KeretaoThe Matoran Universe was a vast, mysterious place. The Great Beings hold secrets to this day. From Metru Nui to the Southern Islands...nowhere is fully discovered. The Southern Islands were thought to be worthless, inhabited by only the strangest, most alien creatures. Perhaps that was true. But the alien creatures were not so different from the common folk. Their worst attribute, if you must criticize...was a nasty penchant for devastating mass warfare. How did this come to pass? The Great Beings made the Great Spirit Robot, the Matoran Universe, and all that was in it. All its people. In their quest to create new and better things...a being and an idea were born. To create better, stronger Matoran. They knew from their experience on Bara Magna that flesh had its advantages...and its downfalls. They would not create pure robots, no. But it would be quite close...holding only the flesh necessary for life.First, Protodermis would be needed...but that was not all. Energon, the lifeblood of this race, was created. A form of energy that could sustain such a tipped balance of Matoran and machine, converted from the common energy upon entry into the body. It held no advantage, in truth. It was simply more fitted to their body types, allowing them to function only as the common beings did. Many entities aside from the Great Spirit that held power were created. Tren Krom, the Makuta, even things that should never be spoken of. The relevant being to this story was Primus. A truly massive being, holding greater power than any Toa. He was created to be the lord of this race, and yet...he was left alone. Like so many creations of the Great Beings, he was left alone. They did, however, as a failsafe, purge him of any darkness that could ever be in his heart. He could do no wrong, commit no crime. Even darkness, however, must go somewhere.Primus had nothing. Great power, incredible size, and yet nothing. To finish the little experiment of the Great Beings, he did something no one of the time could dream of. He transformedHe sank into the Sea of Protodermis, accepting that he could not live as both god and man. He shifted his entire body into the shape of an island...Keretao, an ancient word for robot. That was nearly what his inhabitants would be.Just as the Great Beings had made it, Keretao had the right conditions for this new life to spring up.They were the same as the rest, yet different. Toa, Matoran, Skakdi, Vortixx, and even Turaga came of this. How, then, were these beings same yet different? They, unlike others, were not 85 percent mechanical and 15 percent organic. Rather, they were 95 percent mechanical and 5 percent organic. That is the difference. The similarity was quite like that of the beings inhabiting a distant world...Earth. Are they not Russian, English, Asian, African, and yet still human? And so they were Toa, Matoran, Skakdi, Vortixx, and Turaga...but Cybertronian. They knew of their creator, Primus, and worshipped him rightly. All was well. Primus cared for them more than the Great Beings ever did, and the place was perfect.Only a darkness the size of their "god" Primus could end this happiness. A darkness, that sadly, was all too real. Even darkness...must go somewhere.

Onewa7 posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsHello BZPers! How are you? I'm finally back. I'm glad to be back. Before anything, I'll show all the MOCs you guys didn't see: the Dowtime MOCs. Where to start?GolemOn a rock planet, there are stone creatures named Golems. Here is a warrior-class Golem. They're supposed to be one-eyed, with large shoulders. The bohrok eye on the weapon is a kind of "battery" to power the blade and allow the Golem firing energy from it. All Warrior Golems have a different eye and battery color.GalleryBionicle ShipAs title says. The back sail is sooo bad IMO. Gallery 'cause I'll never have the time to show every MOC's main photoCrocosaurA cross between a crocodile and a dinosaur.GalleryBig HeadIt's a funny thing. I used the Piraka Stronghold's giant Vezok mask. Gallery hereClockwork KopakaA birthday gift for KanjaRyu. Click on the picture for the gallery.Fangz Alternate ModelNothing special. LookCyberMothMade this some time before Christmas. Akamai RevampYes I know it still needs work... I should revamp it again. LookExo-Toa of FireThe Great Beings gave a consciousness and an elemental power to an Exo Toa armor. It is still completely mechanical. Made this after getting Raw-Jaw for my (14th) birthday.War Limulis This is inspired from the Horseshoe Crab. If ya dont know what this is, check wikipedia. This Rahi lived in the sea around Daxia for millenias. Gallery Oh and there's an EliteWarLimulis in this gallery. Thornspix Guardian Inspired from Waspix and Thornraxx. Back Small Silver Tank Made for a MOC-off with my friend Lord Oblivion. It used Rhotuka as wheels. Gallery Von Nebula Revamp Nothing to say here. Click on the picture for Gallery. Random Stuff Here you can see random Dowtime experiments, mixed with older and newer random stuff. Eldrone One of my last 2011 MOCs. Which means it's been recently built. I finally decided to combine parts from my two Hahli Inika. Name comes from Elda (Hahli's Kanohi) and Drone. The Gallery Random Gunmetal Flying Drone Picture is too big, check here Aquatic Rat/Rahi Believe it or no, but I made this with random parts I randomly took in The Pile. Gallery for side view and Revamp which looks like a dead rat according to Felix. Definitely not my best MOC. Christmas Creature Another random experiment. Gallery here Christmas King A special Christmas MOC! As suggested by Felix it will be my new self-MOC. Oh and before you say it needs more gold, I say it was supposed to have only a touch of gold. Gallery *** So I guess it's pretty much all for Dowtime MOCs. I've improved, but constructive criticisms still are welcomed. Enjoy, BZPers! Matt
