Rumpofsteelskin
I had left my sets in the attic for years, and recently after taking them out...there's a brown goo-ish looking stuff on some of them. It isn't mold (i dont think), it looks more liquid than solid, and i can really only compare it to if i had left spilled coke on them for a really long time. It appeared on figures in different bins, but they were all in the same attic. Could it be harmless wood stain? Additional info is that it's very, VERY hot in said attic. Spicy Salmon Samurai
Some of my Bionicle pieces have a sort of rust-like material on them, but that's probably because they were all kept together in big bins inthe basement along with a few other things, some of which had batteries. I tend to think that it is corrosion from the batteries after being left in the basement for several years. Of course the pieces themselves can't rust because they are plastic, and the stuff comes off when you rub it. I don't know if that helps, but perhaps it is something similar? Quote DANMAG! -Whiplash-
some of my pieces have this too. I thought it was weird. I washed all my sets recently and packaged them in bags before putting them into bins. maybe you should try something similar. can't help though since I have no idea what it was. Kopekemaster
If it is really really hot in the attic, I would guess that it is merely wood stain. Quote My Writing Blog (more writing coming soon!) Hexann
I looked at the topic name an I was like, "WTK!?". But yeah, it's a wood stain.
Rumpofsteelskin
I don't think it's battery corrosion. No batteries in any bins. Probably wood stain, and this topic helped put my mind at ease. Least it's not harmless.
Kanakalackin
I originally thought that it was really, REALLY old ketchup (I have very, VERY messy siblings). But, I'm relieved to hear that it's just wood stain. Quote I have an Instagram page where you can see these pictures and more like them! Just click HERE! Ziontyro Metalhead
It could be a result of the plastic being heated and cooled tons of times. It could be as mentioned before, where the wood stain evaporated in the hot air and condensed in the bins. I would suggest to see if anything else in the attic has this. Unauthorized Autobiography
Additional info is that it's very, VERY hot in said attic. Then it's probably sweat. Some walls sweat stuff like that. It's disgusting when they do that. So rude. Quote -G u u R a h K
