Is It Just Me, Or Do Furno's Blades Get Stolen A Lot?

Recommended Posts

Title says all, but in all honesty, the blades have been stolen and modded twice, once by Fire Lord, and now by Jawblade. You'd think after the first time they would increase security. Yes, it may be a excuse to reuse the part, but... It makes you think Furno just leaves them out where people can steal them.Zakaro

They call me Zakaro. You should too.

I'm sure that the blades are not unique to Furno. I the world of Hero Factory, however small it may be, I’m sure most weapons are mass produced.

At some point you realize that you are but a speck in the Universe.

That you time in this worlds is but a blink.

You see the whole of reality as it unfolds before you.

You try to see how far you can reach, and it’s not that far past your face.

But then you come back from the brink.

You hold them in your arms again.

And you know that you are where their world begins.

You are their rock.

Fire Lord, in story, did not have Furno's weapons I do believe, despite having a large resemblance to them. To my knowledge, Jawblade is the only villain that has ever stolen Furno's weapon from him.-Mesonak

So Furno got his weapon stolen, he's going to be in some deep, deep ######.

It's unlikely that they're unique (seeing as how Recon team has access to the Fire Lord upgraded version), that they're just weapons he enjoys using and became his trademark of sorts. They've only been stolen once (because he was seen using them at the same time as FL) by Jawblade, and he just replaced them afterward.

It's not that they are getting stolen a lot; it's that they are a useful piece for a fire-weapon. It's the same case with Tahu's flame-sword. That was used in tons of sets, and even in other themes.

While it does seem a bit odd that we've now seen not one but two modded versions of Furno's weapon, it's easy to understand the justification. In BIONICLE, fans were always trying to make connections when they saw a piece used more than once. A mask being reused was either the same mask another character wore or carved in honor of that other character's mask. Even parts that are simply similar in design are often subject to this, like how the Shadow Matoran masks were determined to be noble versions of the Phantoka Makuta masks, or how many fans preferred to imagine that the Staff of Light was a transformed Chronicler's Staff rather than a transformed Kolhii Stick. Now in Hero Factory, the writers have learned to anticipate this and so make the connections themselves so that they can preempt any speculation and resulting arguments. For instance, Surge's new Electricity Shooter, while not outright confirmed to have any connection to his old Lightning Shooter and Shield, has almost the exact same functionality. Making connections like these is also a good way to create some slight continuity in a series that doesn't depend too heavily on it.
