Axilus Prime Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 This is a cool MOC, to say the least. I love the unique torso and arm ideas, plus the tubes around the legs and the foot style are something I always wanted to do with an MOC but never had the pieces for. Only bad thing is the proportions are wonky. One arm goes past the knees, one is a tiny arm with a huge sword, and the legs aren't long enough for the body. 7/10. Quote
High Voltage Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 If you replaced all the red with white then you would have a mars mission mech. But yeah, I like it, although if you are going to have white then you could do well to not restrict it to the lower body. Quote
Obsessionist Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) I love the feet, they look very cool. I might have to steal that part usage. The only real downside to this MOC is the huge hand. Having the fingers off the end of the Y-socket makes it look huge. I would suggest either connecting them via T-bar to the Y-socket itself or replacing the entire hand with a red or orange HF one. I love the legs and torso. The staff on his back looks very cool in this picture, nice detail. That forearm technique looks excellent at this scale, very cool. A few opinion-based suggestions: Take the tube off the knees. The curved lines lessen the impact of pleasantly bulky legs. An orange kneecap would look great. Although the arms look great in and of themselves, I feel like the character might look better with bulky, muscled arms. Alternatively, the tubes would look great coming from a tank of some sort on his back to the arms, and make the thinner arms look justified. But, again, that's just personal taste. Very cool MOC, good luck in the contest! Edited June 18, 2012 by Lego Obsessionist Quote
FrozenFlash Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I like this! The armoring is really nice and the torso is really cool. Is that a spear on the back? Also, what happened to the left arm? Quote
The Swimming Beard Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I like the body and foot design, though white doesn't really look good with fire. I also like the tubing on the legs. About the arm thing, the arms are the same length till the wrist. I just made one arm a flame and the other a hand. And the don't go too far past the knees when they are straightened out. Also I know the legs are a bit short. But I thought it looked alright. If you replaced all the red with white then you would have a mars mission mech. But yeah, I like it, although if you are going to have white then you could do well to not restrict it to the lower body.Haha, yeah I guess I would. The white isn't just on the lower body. There is 4 pieces in the arm and 6 in the legs. But I personally wanted more white in it as well but I got too busy to add more.I love the feet, they look very cool. I might have to steal that part usage. The only real downside to this MOC is the huge hand. Having the fingers off the end of the Y-socket makes it look huge. Very cool MOC, good luck in the contest! Thanks for all the advice man. If I can find one more t-bar I will do that on the hand when(if) I do a revamp. It is so hard to find them in all my parts and I just don't have the time to sort and look for just a few pieces. I definitely didn't want to use a glatorian hand on him. I just don't care for how they look. Now to your suggestions: The tubes I personally liked as I thought the added more texture and bulk to the legs. An orange kneecap would look good I agree. And for the arms, yes I agree more bulk would look better on the upper arm. I just didn't have anything to put there that would look good.I like this! The armoring is really nice and the torso is really cool. Is that a spear on the back? Also, what happened to the left arm? Thanks, and yes that is a spear/staff on his back. The arm I just made it have a flame shoot out instead of another hand be there. I kinda liked it.I like the body and foot design, though white doesn't really look good with fire. I also like the tubing on the legs. Thanks I liked it a lot too. In my opinion, I thought the white looked good. I have always liked fire mocs with a little bit of white in there. Also thanks about the legs. Quote
