Old topic; please read if new, probably should reread if old.We should of known it’d happen eventually; some did. Some tried to warn us. Did we listen? No, of course we didn’t.The world of Alkermpa is, or was, a fine world. For thousands of years, we lived and worked. Ever since the Makers came from the stars and blessed our world with life, we have lived well. The perfect union of mortal and warlock was critical to this balance; they worked their magic to fuel our world, and in return we mined the minerals that gave them strength yet they were prohibited to hunt down. Without us, the warlocks would die; without the warlocks, our lands would turn fallow and we’d die. Thus the cycle continued. That is, until a hundred years ago. The warlocks grew concerned that mortals were scheming against them, planning to brainwash warlocks into serving their own needs. Understandably, this was an outrage; with warlocks that didn’t answer to the Order, mere mortals kept their lands fertile and the warlocks got nothing. So the first of counter strikes began; first kidnaping hostages, then the use of magical abilities to wage war. The two sides soon found out, though, that such a war couldn’t be waged; the lands grew fallow, and warlocks began to die as their precious minerals were taken away.A truce was formed, and thus peace kept on until recent times. The warlocks found a way to extract the minerals from the ground via animal labor, and suddenly they didn’t need any of their mortal ‘friends.’ Old blood quickly gave them an excuse to strike; when the mortals threatened them with the embargo of their minerals, the warlocks did what anyone would do; they laughed in the mortals’ faces and continued their deadly onslaught. That is, until the priests of the mortals discovered the warlock’s greatest weakness; water from the Great Ocean that spans our world. In the water there was a mineral of sorts, something that would cancel out the warlocks’ abilities. When refined, this mineral could even kill a warlock. Thus, a war that threatened our world began; the lands grow fallow, the people starve every day. But this is war, and until the warlocks give in, there is no other way to end it.AlkermpaHosted by Alex Humva, Co-hosted by Kothra.:Laws of War:.~Perhaps the most obvious, all BZPower rules apply.~This RPG, while it will obviously get a little up there at times, will not exceed PG-13; so no gory descriptions or the like. Been there, done it, it isn’t worth it.~Common sense applies; you might know it as the Gambling Factor, and this is basically that but broader. You stick with your team, you don’t go crazy, etc. Well, the ‘crazy’ part doesn’t always apply.~God modding; this is something where you go and be godly. You aren’t invincible, you aren’t all powerful, and bullets still hurt.~Auto hitting, a subcategory of gmodding; you can’t post saying “I fired my gun and every bullet hit.” Now, SOME autohitting is ok; if it’s small -“My knife scratched his face”-, or if you justify it -“I fired a rocket, blasting both of us off our feet”-. Now, remember, this is a case-to-case basis so the mods reserve the right to slap you if they feel you autohit wrong. Tread carefully.~While there is no character limit, try to keep it reasonable; if you can’t keep up with your own characters, some need to go. You also can’t just make six and have your own team; that’s talked about further on.~Have fun..:Punishments:.Punishments for breaking rules in this RPG are somewhat different; there’s no ‘order’ that you receive them; it’s up to the opinion of the staff giving it. Due to bias, you’re welcome to send a complaint to another staff if you feel that you’ve been unfairly judged. The punishments are ranked in severity.~You get warned.~Your character gets demoted, humiliated, that sort of thing.~Your character is killed.~Temporary ban, the length is tuned to the crime.~Full ban, get out.It should be pointed out the last two can only be done with the approval of two staff, so bias can’t get in and slap you around..:The World of Alkermpa:.The world of Alkermpa is kinda like our own; Alkermpa is actually the name of the sole continent on the planet, the rest of the landmasses being islands of various sizes scattered amongst the world. All the action takes place on this Europe sized continent; to be more specific, the northern section. The wastes that dominate the center of the continent are considered highly dangerous; criminals are sent there, never to be seen again. Rumor has it a city of gold rests at the heart of the continent, but no one has yet reached it.There are two nations; the Great and Glorious Second Human Empire, and then there’s the Order of Warlocks. The Second Human Empire is considerably largely than the Order; the Order itself is a bare minimum sort of thing, only possessing ten million citizens, all warlocks. To put it in comparison, the SHE has roughly hundred and fifty million. One would wonder why the warlocks haven’t been outnumbered one to fifteen, but they’re bloody warlocks, what do you think? Also, for whatever reason, cows talk. Yes, talking cows. A certain level seven warlock thought it’d be funny. Since they’re still just as intelligent, you rarely hear anything smart out of a cow, but it has seriously cut the dairy industry for reasons we won’t go into. So I hope your character likes horse milk.Further, more specific info can be found below..:Short Thesis on the State of Technology:.Some players have been wondering about the state of technology, so I'm going to attempt to explain it as quickly and as concisely as possible. There are a few major factors about the state of technology in Alkermpa; one, neither oil nor gunpowder have been utilized. Oil exists, but mostly in the inhospitable wastes of Anrefni, thus no attempts have been considered practical to use it. Gunpowder has never been fully utilized due to the lack of surfer. Thus, these two key components have held back some of the technology. To make a broad statement on the technology of Alkermpa is fairly difficult, as in some ways it matches our own and in other ways it is centuries behind us. Their medical sciences are on par with our own, in some ways more advanced thanks to warlocks. Their infrastructure possesses running water, well built roads, and their cities boast populations in the millions. If you will, think of the Roman empire; this is the best starting point for understanding the Second Human Empire. Now imagine if the Romans had continued advancing, without ever using oil or gunpowder. That said, the general rule of thumb is that if something doesn't require gunpowder or oil, it probably exists. If it requires one of those two, it's possible it was made but in a different way, either by slightly cumbersome engineering or magic. However, for the common person -that is to say, practically everyone-, they are still in Roman times. It is only once you get to the higher classes and the military that you get more advanced technology that is on par with ours. It's... rather confusing, really, but just try to remember, there's no gunpowder nor oil.A final note is that there is no electricity; while scientists have indeed discovered this source of power, without oil power plants it was never deemed practical enough to fund. Hydroelectric dams have been considered, but the Empire has never seen the point in using it due to the lack of rivers in Alkermpa. Thus it is limited to the labs and a novelty to rich nobles..:The Locations of Alkermpa:.680a2cde5d041c27aef122cab89dae68-d41lv3f.pngOrcen~The capital of the Second Human Empire, it is a large bustling city, about two kilometers in diameter and filled with buildings of various styles. In the center rests the Imperial Palace, where the Emperor or Empress resides, as well as the various lords that visit the capital city to report on their various states and providences.Revor~The sea city of the SHE, half the city is on the continent, the other half being on an island a few hundred meters off the coast. The island is where the docks are, the inland being where it is processed and shipped out across the Empire. It is also the crime den of the empire, gangs and mobs having overrun it. Here, bribery is your best option.Nogard~A small providence, it is a city near the southwest border that has caused plenty of problems for the Empire in the past. Currently, it is under siege from warlocks; it holds a large deposit of avmuh that the warlocks want their hands on. It also has a phenomena that is extremely top secret; a stable, non-powered Dark Pathway.Mox~The Order’s main city, not truly a capital city but the focal point of their government nonetheless. The houses, as with most warlock creations, are grown from the local foliage; apartments inside massive trees and small houses made completely out of grass are common. Compared to Orcen, it is small, only a few hundred meters in diameter. However, the towering jungle canopy adds a third dimension to the buildings, people stacked upon people. Kinda like Tokyo, only greener. At the center of the city, the Great Council sits to discuss matters of state and the like.Arhtok~The place were all warlocks find themselves at some time or another, there is a small village around a spring of water. This fountain of water has mystical properties; not only do warlocks gain a boost of power when near it, they heal much faster and feel invigorated. Attempts to build a city around it and make money off of it have been tried and failed horribly. As such, there is only a quaint little village around this fountain. There are rumors that the water can also grant visions of the future, but so far the only people to of seen the future have committed suicide before they could be interrogated about it.Kcarw~A warlock city that holds great importance to the warlocks; according to forklore, the city is where the Makers made the first warlocks and humans, though the latter has been blotted out in recent times. It is also where much of the avmuh mining takes place, the animal labor force pulling the valuable crystals out of the ground.Xorov~Neutral territory, this desert city was started centuries ago when a group of warlocks and humans broke off relations with the official governments. Anyone is welcome, though it isn’t a place for the faint of heart; sand storms are constantly blowing through, and the residents aren’t kind to outsiders. Attempts to annex it into the Empire have met with utter failure when the desert itself eats their armies. It is also the rumored location of an artifact left behind by the Makers, though no one has proved that.Ozam~A small island off the coast, it is completely overrun with wildlife. All exploration attempts have failed, but every warlock that gets close feels a surge of power. There is something in the forest, but thus far no one has gotten to it.Nharvar~A large island some ways off the coast, the island has for a long time been a mining operation, the jungle stripped completely bare and massive pits where stone and ore has been removed. Two years ago the mine was abandoned, all five hundred and twenty seven workers having gone insane. Those who didn’t kill themselves remain insane to this day, constantly muttering about ‘creatures from ****’ and drawing what looks suspiciously like a Dark Pathway.Anrefni~The great wastes that spawn much of the continent, it is a place of unbearable heat and air so dry the stones themselves have cracked. There are rumors that the Makers once dwelled at it’s heart, but no one can survive the trip to the center. There is not a trace of life, even the bacteria being burned away..:The Factions of Alkermpa:.The Great and Glorious Second Human Empire: In general, the Empire isn’t a modest type -did you get that from their name?-, and their people feel a similar patriotism to their nation. Despite people dying in the streets, their citizens firmly believe this to be the warlock’s faults, and continue to donate the little food they have left to the military in hopes of bringing the warlocks to their knees. There are some, though, who realize that without the union of the warlocks, everyone will simply starve. These people, as you might expect, are promptly imprisoned under charges of treason and disturbing the peace.Their military might quite large; because the draft effects everyone above the age of sixteen, their army is massive, over ten million enlisted and tens of millions more ready to be pulled in. The standard soldier carries a semi-automatic crossbow, as well as a sword for close quarters fighting. Their uniform consists of long, loose but not baggy leather pants, as well as a similar long sleeved shirt. They then have vests that protect their chest and stomach, as well as the sides and back. This is thick leather with a thin layer of titanium coating it. They also have jointed steel elbow and knee pads, offering joint protection. The uniform is then topped off with a headband with their platoon symbol and a multipurpose backpack that is full of little things that can really help you at times. The Order of Warlocks: A pseudo government, it is a union of the various warlock cities and towns. An ambassador from each is sent to sit on the Great Council, and the Council votes on matters. Fairly simple, though this has caused a number of small skirmishes to break out when a city is mad about another city getting better treatment than it.They have no standing army, instead the citizens take up arms whenever threatened. Because everyone is a warlock, possessing the ability to use magic, their fighting abilities are fierce. Unless they are completely overwhelmed, they can often fight off soldiers for days on end. Ever since the refining of the mineral found in the Great Ocean, however, the scales have tipped. What was once a one sided war, warlocks crushing humans, now is evened and even tipped, the Empire rushing through the warlock’s home and crushing anyone in their path..:The Magic of Alkermpa:.Magic is a fact of life in Alkermpa; warlocks are born with the ability within them to manipulate the world around them. Humans are also occasionally granted this ability, but they are extremely rare and extremely powerful. It is infact these humans that are keeping the Empire from completely collapsing into a starving heap, secretly keeping the farms going.Magic is ranked via levels; these levels show where a warlock is in his or her abilities. Levels are extremely unpredictable; sometimes you’ll level up when you’re seventeen, or you might be thirty two and still be stuck on level one. It’s weird, random, but when you do level up it’s awesome. Now, perhaps the most pressing question; what can one do with magic? Well, you won’t be summoning giant fire dragons or blowing up cities. Magic works around specializations; every warlock is born with an interest in something, which will eventually become their specialization. Specializations include a wide variety of things; fire, animals, shape shifting. It should be noted, however, that specializations are limited; you aren’t going find a warlock that specializes in something like, say, boredom. If it isn’t found in nature, you can’t specialize in it. That means no technopaths. Or telepaths. Or teleporters. You’re free to go and stretch things from nature to get some awesome power, but keep in mind that I or whoever you’re sending your profile too can go “too stretchy”. You’re free to argue your point, though. There is a strange ability that all warlocks possess, though; the ability to create Dark Pathways. While you have to be a level seven to create a pathway on your own -as long as it adds up to seven, you’re good; ie, a level three and level four working together could create a Dark Pathway, or seven level ones could-, these pathways are extremely useful, as well as scary. When you create a pathway, you open up a gateway to another dimension, a bridge between two gateways formed. This dimension is completely and utterly dark, the shadow itself eating away at the light you bring with you. There does not appear to be any walls or land masses in the dimension, instead just complete darkness. There are also reports of travelers hearing moaning, whispering in the back of their minds, not there yet noticeable. It doesn’t help that every once and a while, a warlock won’t return from the pathway. Now, just what are these levels? Well, they’re mostly just rises in power; with every level, your power doubles. That means your power, very roughly, is sixty four times as powerful when it’s level seven than it is when you were level one..:The Minerals of Alkermpa:.I know what you’re about to ask. “Humva, seriously? An entire section on a bunch of rocks?” Well, yes. There are a handful of minerals that play a very important part in this RPG. They’re listed here, with their various details detailed.Edalb~The strange and mysterious mineral found in the Great Ocean, it can negate the powers of magic and, in it’s purest form, kill a warlock. Thus, your best bet to shield yourself from magic is to go take a swim in the ocean. It should be noted, however, that the refining process of this strange mineral is lengthy and difficult, thus it isn’t dirt cheap. If you’re going up against a warlock, bring a bottle of ocean water, not a knife made out of this.Avmuh~This mineral, found deep in the crust, is something the warlocks require to live. It contains strange mystical properties, which, when eaten, fuel a warlock’s magic. See, warlock magic slowly depletes over time; when it completely goes, the warlock’s body acts as though a major organ just failed and dies. Thus, warlocks must have this mineral in their diets in order to stay alive. Injects directly into the bloody can also work.Gnisir~This mineral is the sole reason that the warlocks can’t get their hands on avmuh without help. A crystalline mineral, it grows in temperatures excess of hundred degrees Celsius. Due to the fact that avmuh grows around underground geothemal springs, it is always found covering avmuh. Gnisir is much like edalb in the fact that it negates a warlock’s magic, but it also puts out a particle field that is extremely toxic to warlocks, capable of killing them in seconds. It is impossible to make into a weapon, however, because when it leaves it’s warm environment it morphs into a completely harmless and fragile mineral..:Gameplay:.So now that you have an understanding of Alkermpa, you might ask how you’re going play this RPG. Well, this RPG makes cuts that some may feel is restrictive, but also helps keep people from being on opposite sides of the continent. Basically, when you join this RPG, you’re assigned to a team. This team composes of other players, and the team is sent out to fight and stuff. You stick with your team, so you’ve always got someone to talk to or interact with. You do have the option of joining as a civilian, but the draft will pick you up in a few pages.Team sizes very; an Empire team consists typically of seven, but can go up to ten. When it hits ten, the team is divided into two teams and new members are assigned to make seven. Warlocks tend to stick to teams of four, going up to eight before splitting. This splitting is so that the team size doesn’t max out and the newbie player is the sole member of a new team. This RPG also places an emphasis on teamwork -gasp, really?-; instead of going one on one, it’s team on team. You can’t go without someone to watch your back, because otherwise you’re going find a knife between your shoulder blades. That, and two semi-automatic crossbows are better than one.One might wonder what’d happen if this RPG got off to a slow start; answer being, NPCs fill in the slots until more players jump in, and then those NPCs die off/get promoted. Once the RPG got four-five players, though, we’d get going, especially considering multiple characters per player is all but guaranteed..:Enlistment:.Human FormUsername~Character Name~Full name, first name, nickname, doesn’t matter.Age~Specialized weapon~Sure, everyone gets the standard semi-auto, but you can also get full-auto crossbows, or long swords, or a sniper crossbow, or even a shoulder-mounted spike launcher. Let your imagination run wild. Keep in mind you can have two weapons; your specialized weapon either replaces your crossbow or sword. You choice as to which.Appearance~I know it’s hard to describe a character, so just do your best.Ability/Trait~Good sniper? Good mechanic? Medic? What do they do best?Bio~Your character’s history, intentions, that sort of thing.Warlock FormUsername~Character Name~Full name, first name, nickname, doesn’t matter.Age~Specialization~Remember, things that happen in nature go. You can also stretch it a bit to have invisibility or shapeshifting or the like, but be ready to give an argument as to how it applies.Appearance~Do your best.Ability/Trait~Even warlocks are good at something other than magic.Bio~Your character’s history, intentions, that sort of thing.

JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS: PLEASE PUT EACH OF YOUR CHARACTER PROFILES INTO ITS OWN QUOTE BOX (as in, 1 profile per quote box) SO THAT IT IS EASIER TO TELL THEM APART AT A GLANCE FROM OTHER TEXT.This is the profile page for Alkermpa run by me, Kothra. That aside, this page will utilise the organisation system used by previous RPGs such as Reality and Kaen, linking to the post of each profile. Each profile link is listed under their corresponding member.Profiles links are organised by the order in which each member joins Alkermpa, then the order in which each profile is created. To the left of each profile link will be an 'H' or a 'W' indicating whether the character is Human or Warlock. If you understood that, good. OOC: Username~ BladeCharacter Name~ MartinAge~ 19Specialization~ This warlock specializes in electric magic.Appearance~ Martin has red hair, and grey eyes. His hair tends to be left down, but sometimes is messy due to having just gotten up or so. Martin tends to wear a black shirt, with brown pants, and boots, with a rope for a 'belt'. He has a black piece of string around his wrist that is apparently for decoration, as well.Ability/Trait~ This warlock can handle close combat fighting extremely well, and tends to use his electricity magic to enhance his close combat skills.Bio~ Martin grew up as the war was re-entering it's tense moments, and had his magical abilities trained and honed. As he grew older, he began to study the war of the past, and partially wondered why this fighting had to take place at all. However, he was not going to suggest any changes; not yet, at least... Not while there was the possibility of a war destroying him and all his friends.

While a lot of people are likely gonna post after this again; I'm gonna actually start ICing later, as I don't really have time to actually post for an extended period of time right at this moment. Edited by Blade: Hero of Truth

Username~ Kothra Character Name~ Karin Renard.Age~ seventeen yearsSpecialized weapon~ standard crossbow, 14-inch tantō daggerAppearance~ Karin is a lanky Caucasian girl, standing at an even six feet, with short brown hair and brown eyes. Out of uniform she wears light clothing designed for ease of movement. In uniform, she wears leather knee and elbow pads and wooden gauntlets rather than the standard steel pieces. The soles of her boots are leather-padded for stealth purposes.Ability/Trait~ Having lived for three years as a thief in Revor, Karin developed skills in stealth and silent killing, as well as countering a sword with a dagger. She is also quite speedy and agile, a result of running the alleys and scaling the buildings of Revor.Bio~ Karin was born in the Empire's more recently acquired island province of Yotama to the east of Alkermpa. During an uprising against the local government, both of Karin's parents and her older brother were killed. Karin, twelve years old at the time, was taken in by her grandfather, a professional weaponsmith, who then fled the island for a more peaceful life on the mainland. A year after settling down in an isolated town in Alkermpa, Karin's grandfather was killed by a particularly sadistic nobleman who was unpleased with a custom weapon he had requested. Karin now had to fend for herself in the world. Karin stayed in the town for a few weeks, moving between small jobs before she finally turned to thievery. She moved from town to town until rumors began to spread of a 'fox girl.' When she finally reached Revor, a group of criminals who had heard of her had predicted her arrival and planned to remove her from the nation's 'crime framework' assaulted her, but were defeated. Karin settled in the city and lived successfully on her own, while alternating turning down recruitment by crime groups and evading assassination by others. After another three years, when Karin was sixteen, she was caught up in the Empire's annual sweep for young recruits from Revor's criminal population. Karin decided that it was better to have a steady, not so immoral occupation, and agreed to join the Empire's military. She was assigned to the 1121st training squadron with whom she spent a year in training. Now, at the end of Karin's training, Karin has been assigned to the newly-formed Makers' Fists squad.———Karin's short term goals include settling in with the her new squadmates, and accomplishing whatever missions they are assigned. Her long-term goals include revenge for her grandfather and returning (at least temporarily) to Yotama.———Karin was initially a quiet, lonesome girl, keeping to herself, but her time with the 1121st squadron prompted her to open herself to others. With people she knows well (or those she looks down upon), she is often teasing, loud, and generally outgoing. She is short-tempered and prone to outbursts if she is provocated, angered, or annoyed enough. Karin also likes to play pranks on people, a result of the boredom that was commonplace on the streets of Revor.———Karin sometimes mixes fragments and mannerisms of her native dialect with her everyday speech, particularly when adressing others (though some of this is by choice rather than reflex).

Username~ KothraCharacter Name~ TabrisAge~ 41Specialization~ Electromagnetism - Tabris has some control over electromagnetism. He can use his power to find hidden magnetic objects (such as iron or steel supports for buildings and such), and can essentially walk up walls, moving parallel to such supports. He can also use his power to draw iron sand from the ground around him and pull it together to form a weapon, such as a sword. He can change the form of this weapon, as well as vibrate it to increase its effectiveness.Appearance~ Tabris is a well-muscled man of average height with tanned skin, green eyes, and long black hair tied back into a pony tail. He wears a dark blue cloak and sandals.Ability/Trait~ Tabris is a skilled cook, and was well renowned for this in the Arhtok village. He is also a swordsman, and carries a two-handed londsword in case something hinders his magic.Bio~ Tabris has lived in the Arhtok village for most of his life. His father, Sachiel, was also a cook and swordsman, and instructed him in both ways. Tabris eventually left for Mox to learn from other professionals in each profession, and stayed there for nearly ten years. He then spent a couple years wandering Alkermpa and visiting the human side, then returned to Arhtok and took over the inn his family had been running since shortly after the previous war.———Tabris is a calm man, not angered or annoyed by nearly anything. This is in part due to sword training focusing on keeping a cool head, regardless of the situation or an enemy's taunts. He has a strong moral compass, and isn't too fond of war and killing, but he does know that war is war, and certain things must be done, regardless of what he feels.

OOC Username~Alex HumvaCharacter Name~Jackson MonroeAge~34Specialized weapon~Being a five dropped commander -that’s highly ranked, just below general-, the commander has two specialized weapons. His crossbow is far lighter and more durable than most, as well as having a better spring system to fire the bolts faster. It also loads belts instead of clips, allowing him to switch between semi and full auto. The bolts themselves are a special variety, poison actually infused into the metal itself. Getting struck by one of his bolts means instant dizziness, blindness, and a painful death. His sword has been shaped so it’s more of a throwing projectile, but can still be used by hand.Appearance~War hasn’t been kind on the commander; his black hair, which reaches the top of his neck, is filled with gray and his once good skin is covered in scars and old burns. His right index finger has been cut off at the first joint, a titanium replacement resting there. On his left arm, there rests a tattoo, his troop number and rank marked onto his skin. Likewise, on his right arm, there is one small burn scar for everyone man he’s killed; so far, his entire lower arm has been filled.Ability/Trait~The commander has a surprising nack for warlocks; he spent much of his time at the military academy studying up on them. What he knows about them comes from both books and personal experience, thus making him, arguably, more knowledgeable than the foremost experts. So, he understands how their magic works; he knows how to beat it.Bio~Monroe’s life was an interesting one; beginning as a simple farmer’s child, he eventually joined the military simply to escape the dull montage of a farmer’s life. Once in the military, he gained experience fighting against rebel uprisings that never seemed to completely die out. He finally achieved the rank of commander after being mortally wounded in an uprising, and yet somehow managing to survive before the warlock healers could arrive. This worked to get him fame, but it also caused increased scrutiny to make sure he wasn’t a rare human magic user. Needless to say, he didn’t have any magic in his blood, but he did attract some attention, both good and bad. Wow, six months and I still don't have my warlock profiles xD

Martin pretty much just used instinct, as he ran forward, and thought he saw a light approaching. Martin ran toward it, hoping he was doing the right thing, and then jumped through it, and landed in another place, another city, town, or region by the look of it.OOC: There you go. =P

IC [Location: Arthok. Time: Sunset] Martin broke through to the other side to see a quaint little village, a fountain of water directly in front of him. Some nearby warlocks looked at him with brief puzzlement, but thought nothing of it. Behind him other refugees began to pour in, and warlocks began to take notice. A female warlock walked up to Martin, raising an eyebrow. "Excuse me, do you know what's happening?"

IC [Location: Arhtok. Time: Sunset] "Are they fighting the attackers off? Are the humans attacking us?" The girl looked behind Martin to the Pathway. "We can have some refugees, but if Mox is under attack... I have to get the village council together, send some sort of reinforcements." Meanwhile as the girl talked, something reached towards Martin. Something brushed his mind slightly, and he would of felt as though the fountain of water was staring at him. Something unnatural touched his mind, but it was oddly comforting... yet scary at the same time.

-==IC: Martin==-"Huh?" Martin mumbled, as he looked at the fountain curiously, as he didn't respond to the girl for the moment, though the creatures didn't seem like humans, at all. However, Martin slowly stood, and took a cautious step toward the fountain, as he tried to get a better look at it.

IC [Arhtok, Sunset] Yes. Something crept into Martin's mind, speaking in a voice that had no voice. You. You. Closer. Meanwhile, the girl looked at Martin in an odd way, raising an eyebrow. "Something wrong?"

IC [Arhtok, Sunset] Closer. Closer. No. Scared. No. Closer. The fountain bubbled a little, a splash of water going out of the basin and onto the ground, drizzling towards Martin. The girl had turned away to help with the refugees, and everyone seemed to be focused on something else. Closer. Closer.

IC [Arhtok, Sunset] Yes. Good. Good. The fountain bubbled more and more, sending out a splash of water that, for a split second, make contact with Martin's face, and then Martin's vision went black. [unknown, Sunrise] Martin, after his vision cleared, was standing in a forest, next to a spring of water. Subconsciously, Martin knew that the spring was the same one as the one that was at the fountain. He couldn't dwell on that, though, as five warlocks emerged from the brush, looking at him oddly. "Who are you?" One of them asked. "What are you doing out here? It's not safe."

OOCEh, the details are a bit lacking, but hardly anything worth disapproving them. I'm putting Brandson in the Maker's Fist -currently being collected to Orcen-, and Daniels... he'll go in the Fist too, but will probably be transferred to another team when one forms. So, all four are a go; just be sure that you can manage them. Also, could you format it a little better, so it's easier to read? At the moment you have lines running into lines.

IC [Arhtok, Sunrise] "You don't know about... them? You either must of hit your head a little too hard, or..." No sooner than that, the woman had vines wrapping around her arms, the trees beginning to groan as they moved. "You might be one of their morphs, trying to find were the rest of us are. I'll die before I let you do that." The others began readying their magic as well, leaving Martin in a very vulnerable position. Touch me. The spring bubbled once more. Drink me. You are in danger, son of the Makers.

IC [unknown, Unknown] The moment Martin had drank the water, the world went black. Then light appeared, streaking through the sky like stars were being sped up... or rewound. The world blurred, twisted and turned until it stabilized, Martin finding himself standing in a vast courtyard of cobblestone, on top of a shrine that had the fountain in it's center. The courtyard seemed well kept, but there was no one there. The water began to bubble up, defying gravity as it took shape. Eventually it was a long, humanoid creature, rippling as water moved and kept it's shape. Son of the Makers; you have been called to help the world. The form never truly spoke; Martin just heard it in his mind. A threat has arose that will tear creation apart if it is allowed to persist. It has seen the weakness of your world, and preys upon it. You must not let them succeed, or Alkermpa itself will be lost.

You must go into the home of the Maker's priests, and inform them of the approaching threat. They will know what to do. The form flickered, lightning coming in the background. Our time is cut short, young child. You will return to your world, but before I talked to you. Go to the home of the priest; find the Rejected. Find her, and the Maker's creations will live to continue this cycle. The world once more blurred around Martin, this time a pain cutting into his head like none other. It lasted no more than a split second, and soon he was standing outside of the Pathway, the same girl as before walking up to him. "Excuse me, do you know what's going on?" She asked.

OOC: Well I'm back... Alex, what font are you using? Because on my iPod Touch it appears as this really fancy curvy thing. It's a pain to read, so if you could please change font or at least darken the text? Oh, you're using Comic Sans... Because on my iPod Touch it shows up as something completely different. And light grey. Also, for Kaitan's warlocks, I'd like some more detail on the specialisations: give them strengths and limits, because without them there is potential for such powers to be abused. AND JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS, IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED IF YOU COULD PUT YOUR CHARACTER PROFILES INTO QUOTE BOXES SO THAT THEY ARE EASIER TO SPOT AMONG OTHER TEXT. IC: After being caught up in the portal to Arhtok, Tabris was not a happy man. He had spent days, weeks even, traveling to Mox from here, and now he had suddenly been returned. He forced himself to slowly breath in and out to calm himself, then set off to his inn to prepare for accommodating more than the usual number of guests.

Username~ ToACharacter Name~ Ronare GenaltAge~ 26Specialized weapon~ Besides his crossbow, equipped with seawater and normal arrows, he carries a light, fast sword, but with a thick enough blade to effectively cut. It looks something like this.Appearance~ Ronare is a tallish man with shoulder length brown hair, and piercing green eyes. He dressed in light leather armor, so as to move more swiftly, though certain areas are overplated by metal. His skin is a pale tan, and his hands are rough and calloused. He wears an old green cloak over his clothing.Ability/Trait~ Ronare is a hunter, pure and simple. Give him a crossbow and he can feed a village through the winter. He's an excellent shot, with a bow or crossbow, one of the best in Alkermpa. He knows how to survive in the wilderness, what plants are edible, where to find shelter, things like that. However, he's a bit lost in cities.Bio~Ronare's father was the leader of his small village in one of Alkermpa's forests, a long time ago. When the war broke out, they stayed neutral, only a few leaving their village to join the military. However, the government soon demanded more, and before long, Ronare's father chose him and a few others to stay behind and lead the village, as they were the best hunters, none moreso than Ronare. A few years ago, a warlock on the run from the fighting stumbled across their village, ravenous with hunger and thirst. He was out of his mind from the long flight, and assumed the villagers meant to harm them, which they had no intention of doing. He slaughtered them, burning the village down with everyone in it. Ronare and his closest friend, Mikheil, had been hunting, but they heard the screams. They ran toward the village, reaching it as the last of the buildings collapsed, the warlock panting from exertion. Mikheil yelled, and rushed forward, though Ronare held back out of fear, a decision he regrets today. With a yell, the warlock consumed Mikheil in flames. Ronare screamed, pulling up his crossbow and firing three shots into the warlock before he could react. With almost inhuman precision, his sword found the man's neck. However, it was too late. Nothing remained of his home. Consumed by grief, he left, running to the wild, where he lived on his own for a time. After this, he made his way to Revor, where he learned of sewater's properties. Armed with a new weapon, he set off to hunt a new prey- the warlocks that had destroyed his home.Username~ ToACharacter Name~ Borunar Thrassguid, or Boru, for short.Age~ 27Specialization~ Boru specializes in an older kind of magic- Runic magic. While it allows more diversity than traditional magic, it's somewhat weaker. Runic magic is accomplished through a stele, a long, pointed stick every Runic mage has. Without it, they are almost powerless. A stele is used to write runes, or symbols. Every Runic mage knows quite a few. They can be written on any substance, even metal, because of a stele's magical properties. However, writing on living organisms burns like white-hot fire, and tends to not go well. A runic mage is able to channel energy into the runes, activating them. For example, a mage could write the rune for 'fire', on a piece of wood, through it on the some sticks, channel some energy into the rune, and that piece of wood with start burning, igniting the sticks and starting a campfire. However, the rune would be burned away quite quickly, though the fire, now driven by natural forces, would remain. Now, the limitations of this magic. Like all magic, it is limited to what's in nature. Making a sword that shoots flames? No. Making a sword that will heat up when you activate the rune? Sure. The next limitation- quantity. Runic mages can only work with the power in their bodies. You can't outfit an entire army with super sharp swords. Yourself and one other person? Sure. Most mages, when they start out, can keep four runes going at the most. The last law is activation. Runes only work when they're activated, at which point they will constantly drain your energy until you 'turn them off'. Those super sharp swords? It'd be a good idea to activate that rune only when you're fighting. Otherwise it will constantly exhaust you. The more runes you have active, the faster you'll tire. Runes can only be activated by a mage, so if your sword has a rune to be very dense and sharp, it won't do you any good unless you have a mage handy. Mages can also remove runes, which causes the marks to simply melt away. In attempting to make his left arm stronger, Boro lost it, and was forced to outfit it with a metal replica, which, while very strong, is constantly draining his energy due to the runes which let him manipulate it. He also carries a sword, like this, which is enchanted to return to his guantlet when thrown through a magnetic pull. It will only return when activated, and there's a limit. He can't throw it off a cliff, walk a few miles one way, and expect it to come back. His armor also has a few runes for protection written on it. The only one of these active at all times is his arm, taking up one of his four slots. (This increases with levels)Appearance~ Boro has neck length black hair, with a black cloak and clothes. His eyes glow bright yellow, same as any active runes. His skin is pale in contrast to his clothing. His shirt is short sleeved, and he has light armor over his clothes. On his right arm, he has a metal armband with an inscribed rune, on the other, his arm ends in reddish, burned skin just above his metal gauntlet, which runs from above his elbow to the rest of his arm. It's supported by a metal framework inside, and has a glowing yellow circle on its palm, the rune for life. This allows him to move it, though with not quite as much dexterity as his right arm. Being metal, its quite strong. His stele is white and appears to be made of bone, hanging from his belt.Ability/Trait~ Boro is a skilled blacksmith, with a number of runes memorized(though there is not book of runes. If there was, and it were activated, it would likely sap all the strength of any runic mage for miles around). He not a very good fighter, and plays more of a support role.Bio~ Boro took a different path when he began training, studying under an old mage, one of the few who still practiced Runic magic. Boro prefers this type of magic as he "prefers to let others dirty their hands". He plays a support role in a team, and is able to repair any needed weapons on the go. He recently decided to join the military, as he sees the humans as nothing more than "a large pest problem which needs to be put down."

Well, would you just look at that?
