Lol Hey Guys
MANY THINGS
TO SAY AND DO
BUT MOSTLY TO SAY
FIRSTLY< TO STOP HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY
That's better. Got back yesterday but was too tired to internet much. I'll write a few highlights of the trip, Bionicle related shenanigans highlighted in purple.
Went to Texas. It was a nice cold. It actually snowed a bit, just some flurries. It doesn't snow in that part of Texas, like, ever. And it's snowed now two years in a row, two years ago it was heavy enough to actually build up on the ground. Global warming and all that. I was staying at my Grandma's house out in the country (like, 15 minutes from town, not far. We used to live on that same street) with all my fambly.
Played a lot of Xbox with all my old friends (like, all four of them lol), it was great to reconnect. I was afraid it would be hard to catch up, but it was easy. Got sick on Christmas Eve and was sick until just a couple days before we left, so sucks. I didn't get to enjoy the weather as much as I would have liked.
SURPRISE my aunt and my cousin and my cousin's wife and their two kids showed up on Christmas eve. Or was it two days before Christmas? Not the cousin that lives on island, the other one. California one. Mom's side. Dad's side on east coast.
Anyway, only Grandma knew, so it was pretty awesome. I love my cousins.
On Christmas day I watched The Legend Reborn, my small cousin's copy, with him. For what it is, it's pretty good. Technically better than the previous three, with better voice acting and animation, but the others... felt more... something. Dunno. It was kk, I suppose.
No one really gave any gifts for Christmas. Well, the two kids got a couple, but all the rest of us got was a vast amount of Trader Joe's goodies Tia (aunt) brought that we shared amongst ourselves. I'm totally k with that, though.
I did get quite a lot of money to spend, though. It was all mine to begin with, though. I just didn't have it in hand.
THINGS I BOUGHT YAY:
It's like everything is on sale on the mainland, 'cause the prices aren't jacked. Listed in order of boughtness.
BIONICLE STARS PIRAKA (NEKTANN)
Got him at TRU the day after I arrived. He looked the most interesting out of all the Stars. Got him. Pretty fun. I like the new face. The spines inhibit movement to an extent, but much less than in the original. Not much else to say. In terms of MOCing parts, there isn't really much here.
STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED (ULTIMATE SITH EDITION)
Got at TRU at the same time as Nektann. Only $40 for the full game + no small amount of extras. Rented the game when it first came out, loved the gameplay for the most part and the story, been meaning to get it, but glad I waited for this new edition. Some flaws in the game, but still fun. Can't wait for the sequel.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: SPIRIT TRACKS
Got it on sale at Target ( ) for $10 off. Only ever played one other Zelda game before it, one for Super Nintendo. It's weird how it always starts out with a completely blank slate... same Link and Zelda, same Hyrule, but always completely different story. It's quite a fun game. I like the controls which pretty much only use the touch screen, and despite that it still feels like an old school Zelda game. Currently trying to find a way to the Ocean Temple... can't find one of the beacons the whistle activates, the one marked as #1 on Carben's map.
BIONICLE STARS TAKANUVA
Got him at Target. I like the new chest armor and the new feet are great. They look good and they fit right in with all the older Bionicle parts. All's well until you get to the head. I really hate the Avmatoran head at the best of times, but the Avohkii just doesn't cover it up. The Avohkii looks out of place in silver, as well. Ideally, the mask would be a new, longer mold like Tahu got, and it would be white. Otherwise, the set has some nice pieces, but overall looks pretty bland, the opposite of Nektann.
BIONICLE STARS TAHU
Got it New Years Eve along with Gresh Stars and Thornatus at TRU. A very underwhelming set. Weird color layering, eye color, terribly bent arms (sometimes they work, but not here)... Quite yawn-worthy. I like the pieces, but as a whole, my least favorite Star of those I own. A faithful re-imagining of the set, at least. Some black to break up the bright colors would be nice.
BIONICLE STARS GRESH
I actually really like this set, but wasn't really expecting to. I was considering getting Rahkshi, but Gresh won out... He's my favorite Star so far. Great coloring. I like that they replaced his orange head with green, it looks better now. Really, the whole look of Gresh Stars is quite good. The bent arms work on him, as opposed to Tahu, considering the weapons he uses.
BIONICLE THORNATUS V9
Wonderfully rickety in looks, sturdy and interesting in design. Awful driver with possibly the worst helmet ever, but he isn't the star of the set. A decent piece selection for MOCing, a couple cool recolors, but the set itself was more the point of my purchase, not the MOCing potential. It will probably stay alive for quite a while.
SWITCHFOOT: HELLO HURRICANE
Got it the night before we left for home (we started driving for the airport at 4 AM on New Years Day. UGH) at Hastings. Listened to it only twice so far. It's pretty good, not my favorite of theirs, but there are certainly some gems in there. I may grow to like it more, may not.
======
Came back to Hawaii to find that the fambly computer died. Hooray. Haven't backed it up in like six months, and we didn't back everything up even then. So we lost tons. Including all my work on the Pokemon TBRPG. Blah. Currently using my dad's lappy.

Edit: The pointer finger on my right hand has been twitching from side to side all day. O_o
Edit2: Forgot to mention this... Gresh's canister is completely baffling. The lid is Mata green. We haven't seen that color in Bionicle since... 2003? Kinda confusing.
