Illuminatus
Has it been hinted since BIONICLE's return whether G2's name still stands for "biological chronicle"? Because I think it would be more than fitting (as well as original) if the name was a mixture of two different words this time around, especially if the whole story does not take place in another giant robot's body. What do you guys think? What else do you think BIONICLE could stand for? Let me hear your thoughts.
emily
You know how they call a single eyeglass a monocle? But a double is just called 'glasses' for some reason? Bionicle is introducing the proper terminology. 5 Quote believe victims. its actually not that hard, and youd look kind of bad if you were to, say, side with an abuser because theyre your friend
masterchirox580
I don't think lego will bother changing the meaning of the bionicle name, I mean there really wouldn't be much point, I doubt most people who buy this stuff really question the name. And there's always biomechanical chronicle, it would make a lot more sense. Edited July 6, 2015 by masterchirox580 1 Quote It's time to move on. fishers64
I honestly think that biological chronicle is the definition that makes the most sense with the story direction so far. Illuminatus
Does it, though? G1 was essentially a chronicle of Mata Nui's inner functions, i.e. biology. Can't see how that applies to G2, frankly.
Ford
The story chronicles a group of heroic, biological beings. So, yes, it should still apply. Quote http://i.imgur.com/kbP5Svg.gifhttp://i.imgur.com/O8CcqC5.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/kbP5Svg.gif
Illuminatus
Yes, applying that particular logic, BIONICLE could be the name of every heroic story ever, haha. Something a little less vague, perhaps?
Bfahome
It's possible that the "biological" part will come into play later, like how it did in G1; we knew it stood for "biological chronicle", but we didn't truly know why until 2008. It also might just be an artifact title. The new generation follows the same themes as the old one, so it makes sense to keep the name as well, regardless of how well its origins fit. (Also it's not uncommon for titles to be a common word or concept, so "biological chronicle" is no more interchangeable than a title like "Ed" or "Revenge" or "It".) Something a little less vague, perhaps? I was just pointing out that the biological beings on Okoto's story is the one we're hearing, which is more related to "biological chronicle" than "biomechanical chronicle" or "bionic oracle". The latter seems completely from left field...that's probably because it is. Regitnui
It's that Okoto is a Genius Loci, or sentient island. By fixing the problems of the inhabitants and letting the nature of the island (flora and fauna) reassert itself after Makuta's MoUP incident, the Toa are healing it. In the finale, the Animals of the island will fight alongside the Toa against MoUP-corrupted creatures. 1 Quote Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone? A write-up for an initial video for a G2 plot I really wish everyone would stop trying to play join the dots with Gen 1 and Gen 2 though,it seems there's a couple new threads everyday and often they're duplicates of already existing conversations! Or simply parallel them with a slightly new 'twist'! Gen 2 is NEW, it is NOT Gen 1 and it is NOT a continuation. Outside of the characters we already have I personally don't want to see ANY old characters return. I think it will cheapen the whole experience to those of us familiar with the original line... Illuminatus
Bionic oracle was more of an example than anything, really, I didn't put any thought into it at all. I should've clarified. I like Regitnui's interpretation.
