I often find that when I start a new story, I have a hard time writing the beginning. Everything seems to go by painstakingly slow, like rusted gears in an old clock. Nothing seems interesting or fun or entertaining or whatever until I get past the first few paragraphs.
Fortunately, I never give up, even if the beginning is boring, but I know that it will eventually pick up sometime and it always does. The beginning still isn't that good, but I can always edit or revise it later (which I do,
Glatorian Chronicles #4: The Fallen Warrior will be posted on Tuesay, September 1st, 2009.
Since it is far too long to be a short story, it will be a three chapter epic. So if seems awkward to read one chapter at a time, you will know that it is because I originally wrote it as short story and was supposed to be read all at once. And yes, I will still be counting it as a part of the Glatorian Chronicles series as a whole, since it follows the point of view of one Glatorian (Tarix, in this cas
Whenever I write the dialogue of characters in my stories, I don't usually worry about grammar. I mean, yeah, most of them speak pretty good and are understandable to the average reader, but if I happen to see a grammar mistake I usually overlook it because in my opinion, character dialogue doesn't necessarily have to have perfect grammar, since few people in real life speak perfect grammar and since good fiction emulates real life, I let my characters speak in bad grammar sometimes, if necessar
GC#4: The Fallen Warrior will be posted as a two or three chapter epic soon. The reason for this is because I tried to post it as a short story earlier today, but when I actually did post it, about half of it was missing because it was too long (20,000 words long, to be exact) and I deleted it all and reported the topic for closure. I'm still counting it as a GC, but it will simply have chapters instead of being one big story.
It's an interesting song. I like it about the same as Closer to the Truth, which means I think it is just under Gravity Hurts by my personal taste. I'm interested in seeing the music video for TLR now.
For those who don't know, Bye Bye Babylon has already been released on iTunes, even though it isn't for download on BIONICLE.com yet. I listened to it on another website, though. Still sounds good, however, and I wouldn't mind downloading it as I did with Gravity Hurts and Closer to the Truth.
I just posted a new content block for my blog today.
If you will look at the right side of your computer screen, you will see a content block devoted entirely to my epics. Right now there are only two in there, but I plan to write at least two more epics, though they won't come out for a while.
Yes, I will be making content blocks for the rest of my fics as well. There will be one for the Glatorian Chronicles, one for miscellaneous short stories such as Paranoia, and then the final one wil
Warning: This post is going to be extremely positive and you may disagree with me on some points. If so, please take note that this is all pretty much my personal taste and you may have different tastes, though if you have anything interesting to add you may do so in the comments .
Anyway, back to the action:
I like stories that have mysteries at the center of them or at least play a big part in the grand scheme of things. I like it when the author plants clues, hints, and red herrings, m
I was so surprised and happy to see the announcement on the front page that the forums are back up. Don't have much else to say about this, except that I am glad that my $35 I spent on my Premier Membership didn't go to waste .
As for updates on my fanfics . . . I will be posting two chapters of ToE a week until I have caught up with my schedule, then it will be back to one chapter a week. Also, for those who are interested, the title of the third and final epic in the Shika Trilogy is "An U
Yes, you read the title of this entry right. After some hard thinking on my part, I have finally decided that I am going to stop writing "My Bionicle Sets Stories," my main comedy.
"But why?" you ask. "What is the problem?"
Well, to answer that question, let me tell you that I've grown a lot as a writer since I've first started writing comedies. I now know a lot more about description, grammar, spelling, characterization, plotting, foreshadowing, and all of that other good stuff for story
Hi, guys. I'm here with an entry about the differences between the first ideas of the Shika Trilogy (my fanfic series) and the ideas that I ended up using, which are vastly different from the originals. I've always wanted to do a blog entry like this for a while.
Now onto the first epic: "The Tales of Shika Nui":
The concept was, in some ways, still the same before I actually begun writing it. It was still about Matoran theives unwillingly becoming Toa and fighting the Dark Hunters, but so
Yes, I am a Premier Member now. After nearly three years of being a member of BZP, I have finally gotten around to doing this. I got Lifetime Premier Membership, so I won't have to renew it every month or year, and anyway, BZP's definitely given me what I consider seveal years worth of Internet experience to warrant Lifetime Premier Membership IMO.
I am thinking of posting one or two blog entries a week, maybe. Kind of would like to regularly update it at least so it doesn't become a ghost bl
