So I just got a new laptop last night. It has, like, 400 GB of memory and all kinds of shiny new apps and features I haven't even tried out yet. But you know what the absolute best part of it is? We downloaded OpenOffice onto it. And thanks to OpenOffice, I have access to my Microsoft Word story files again, meaning I can get back to work on Dawn of the New Century, among my other projects. Yesterday we got a Wii-U -- specifically, the more expensive version -- along with New Super Mario Bros. U. As of five minutes ago, I successfully installed a new memory chip into our laptop, giving it an extra gigabite of memory. That may not sound like much -- and it isn't -- but one gigabite is a ton more memory than we had previously. Before, we had less than ten megabites available . . . and sometimes not even that much. The memory was so low I couldn't even open a simple Word document without causing the computer to act up. In addition, Skype managed to update itself, so I am officially back

Today our Acer laptop completely ran out of memory. It's not surprising, really. It's been telling us for months now that it's memory is almost full and during that time we've deleted as many old or unnecessary files as we could in an attempt to make more room on the hard drive. Yet today the inevitable has finally happened. Last night I beat Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Not entirely, mind you. I still have to unlock the secret ending, which means I'm going to have to complete all of the characters' reports and probably do other things I don't know about yet. Well this morning Family Dollar called me and asked if I still wanted a job I'd applied for last month. So I told them I did and they told me to come to the store for a job interview as soon as I could, which I did. The job interview went quickly and easily and I got the job. As a writer, I believe it is very important to read as much as you can. And not just in your preferred genre, either. Try to read in a variety of different genres, if possible, because good writing is good writing no matter what it is garbed in. As a matter of fact, read nonfiction books, too. Histories, philosophical/theological books, scientific books, personal memoirs, 'how to' books, etc, etc. Nonfiction not only works as research, but also aids writers in expanding their horizon and deepe
So I just finished watching LOST last night. It was an awesome (if horribly confusing at times) show. Definitely one of my favorite TV shows I've ever seen. As for favorite characters, there are too many of them for me to list them all. I will say that I enjoyed Benjamin Linus, John Locke, Desmond Hume, and Sawyer more than the other characters, but again almost all of them were well-developed and had interesting backstories and personalities. For a long while now I've been considering joining the Ambage. When the Ambage first started up a while ago, I was skeptical that it would last, for all of the other BZP writers' groups/clubs I'd seen in my time always died of inactivity (not to mention they seemed more focused on giving out "rewards" rather than actually encouraging writers to improve their craft). Today I finished writing the fourth draft of my upcoming epic, Dawn of the New Century. It's a little over 93,000 words, making it the longest draft yet. It is also probably the best draft, although I am going to revise it at least three times before posting it to make it even better. Taking into account the amount of rivison it's going to need, expect to see Dawn sometime in early 2013 at the earliest. Hi, everybody. Recently (as in, starting last month) I haven't been able to get onto my Skype account. Every time I put in my username and password, it tries loading and then says "Skype can't connect" above the username and password boxes, thus preventing me from connecting to my account. Earlier today I applied for a part-time position as a Driver Helper at UPS, thinking it might be fun but not expecting anything to come out of it (as all my other job applications at other comapnies have thus far been either ignored or rejected outright). As of fifteen minutes ago, I cast my first ever vote in the U.S elections. It felt empowering to know that I am contributing to our society in some way, even if the guy I voted for President doesn't win. So I can now say I have voted.
