Recently I've been experimenting with my generously-gotten Photoshop software; just playing around with different effects. I thought I might post this one here:
I just finalized my budget for Christmas gifts this year, and my total came to $55. From this amount of cash I must provide gifts for each of the 11 people listed below. Basic math will tell you that this restricts each person's individual gift budget to $5, IF I distribute evenly. Here I will keep a record of gifts planned for each person, as well as the cost of their gift. Suggestions are welcome. Today was the Math Bowl for my area. For those who don't know, a Math Bowl is a mathematics competition. For my area, there are four divisions: geometry, algebra II, pre-calculus, and calculus. Each school sends out a team of four students (each of who are in the class for their division) for each division. These members compete in individual exams (a difficult 20-question test) and as a group in a timed competition in which speed equals points. As individuals and as a group, my team didn't do v
Does anyone reading this play Super Smash Bros. Brawl? I was bored and decided to post a blog entry for discussion about it. I play a lot, and am fairly decent with my home (main) character, Lucas. I probably need to learn to use another character or two, maybe Olimar or Peach.
Discuss, discuss.
First, did anyone else know that a new all-female element was created? Psionics, which for the unknowledgeable includes telekinesis, telepathy, mind control, and other mental powers.
Anyway, I immediately went to BS01 to investigate. Though I was disappointed to find the page set to the elemental page template, with very little extra information, the images of psionic mask powers made me notice something. Here is an image from the psionics page at BS01:

This is an idea that's been floating around in my head for a while, and I'd like to actually implement it. The idea is to create a database of pieces with names for each piece and color. I know there's already something similar out there, but the names are usually long, cumbersome, and involve numbers.
Of course, I can't do this alone, as I don't know many terms. I'll start here with a few pieces, then allow anyone to contribute by voting, adding a piece I forgot, or discussing organization o
So, I'm home from my first day of school. It wasn't too bad, as first days go. My only real disappointments came in English class. Remember when I said that my English teacher seemed to be the best of my teachers? I was wrong. She's freaking nuts.
Okay, I'm being a little harsh. She's just not quite what I expected from open house. I suspect that part of it is also my classmates, who, as with my English class from last year, are less than wonderful.
The other disappointment in English is t
The movie was good. I liked the flashbacks of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow's history, and did not see the plot twist revealing the freaky scientist to be Rex coming.
Meeting Queen again was fun. We don't have too much in common anymore, save that we're both smart. After the movie, we all relocated to Barnes & Noble, then to Panera Bread for lunch (I love Panera).
That's all for now.
...and it needs to come RIGHT NOW.
So, I was working on a school project (due tomorrow) earlier today. It's a book jacket, required to be at least 12x20, give or take. It had to include an illlustration for the front cover, so because I can barely draw a straight line, I decided to do mine digitally and print it at our local Kinkos. My jacket is 12x27.5, so it would have cost around $16 to print full-size (it's $7.25 per square foot).
Unfortunately, my family is experiencing some financial
Today is our official Christmas shopping day. Contrary to the mostly-empty list below, I do actually have a general idea of what to get everyone, and I THINK I can afford it.
And so, armed only with $36, a 30% off any one item at Borders coupon, and his wits, Carakki set out to complete his Christmas shopping for 2009...
In other news, the temperature has been dropping around here lately. I haven't been able to build since my room is out in the garage, with no heating or real insulation.
Last night I went shopping with my mom at Target, and she somehow managed to sneak the Kaxium V3 into the car without my notice! I am now the proud owner of the blue double motorbike. Review pending, but it won't be for an unopened set.

Right. So, my first full-length blog entry. And it will be about school. For, indeed, today was my first day back to school after a relaxing, highly enjoyable winter break. Let me acquaint you with my schedule:
My day is divided into eight fifty-minute periods, with six-minute passing periods between them. The very first bell rings at 7:26 a.m. and the last at 3:00
Hurrah! It's my day to go to Disney! My dad should be picking me up...well, now - for E.P.C.O.T. E.P.C.O.T. is an acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow and houses the worlds largest geosphere. If you want more information, Google/Bing/Yahoo!/whatever search engine you use it.
My dad's still not here.
...
Nope.
...still not here.
Okay, he's still not here. I'm just going to wrap up this entry and send it. Until next time.
Ding's* birthday is coming up this Sunday, and as a gift I wanted to make him a customized T-shirt. So I called a local shop, and it was about $25.
For one side.
For a light-colored shirt.
Ouch.
So, the new plan is to get some plain shirts and change the design into stencils. There's a special spray paint for fabrics that can be found at craft stores, so we'll just spray the design onto the shirt. We might even make two.

At long last, I have become a Premier Member of BZPower. As such, I have created this blog to use for whatever purpose I so choose. At present, my blog will act as the Zadakh Central Taskforce Hive. All Vahki Zadakh are expected to report here immediately.

So, I'm home from E.P.C.O.T. Actually, I got home around 6 p.m. My dad and the co. were mostly uninterested in what I consider to be a great park. Alas.
Actually, this blog entry started an e-mail to remind myself to call Ding about a contact he has that fixes gaming consoles - the eject button on our Wii is broken. I'm not checking it tonight so that I can see it tomorrow and remember to call.
Sending...
I know I haven't made an entry in a while, but I thought this was worth mentioning: The Vahki fad is over. All units, return to your normal usernames as soon as you are able. I repeat: The fad is over.
That's all for now.
I hate missing school. This morning at around 1 a.m., I vomited. Then I vomited again at 4 a.m. I've had diarrhea and a headache for two days. My mother and grandmother convinced me to stay home. I e-mailed all of my teachers and my mom called the attendance line to let the school know I wasn't going to be there.
If I'm not better by tomorrow, I don't know what I'll do. I really do hate missing school. Plus, tomorrow (since it's an early release day), I was going to test-drive the route betwe
I finally saw it.
There were only three parts I didn't like:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Mata Nui's "together...as one mind" line. Totally out of place. Tuma and his battle with Mata Nui. They got Tuma's character all wrong. There was a third to put here last night, but it ran away in Spanish class this morning.
It is uncommon that I use or talk about emoticons, but I felt it was worth saying that whoever invented the following image was genius:
It can be attached to any most emoticons. Observe:

Tomorrow I'm going tubing with Queen...apparently, it'll be a 3-hour ride to the river, so I'll be bringing my DS Lite, DSi, and Dante's Inferno. And possibly other things.
I woke up at 6 again this morning. I showered, pulled out my Bionicle parts, and in two hours had a prototype bandersnatch. For those who don't know, a bandersnatch is a quick-moving reptile with and extendable neck. I built it for a contest that ends tomorrow (blog search for bandersnatch, there's only one blog with the word in the title).
My problem this morning is how long the critter's neck should be when extended. Is an extendable neck really a feasible natural tool? Think about it. What
