Skyrim Adventure, Part 18: In Which I Become A Ghostbuster, Again: Companions Edition

alternative title: In Which I Go Hunting For Witches, Again: Beheading Edition   I decided to tackle the Lexicon quest, and fast traveled to the nearest location. I fought a Dragon on my way there. The place happened to be some Dwarven ruins... I don't like Dwarven ruins. Inside I came across Dwarven Spiders for the first time. They zapped me a lot. Of course, the ruins also contained my old buddies, the Dwarven Spheres. Now that I'm a higher level I can actually handle them. Eventually I made i

Skyrim Adventure, Part 17: In Which I Am The Law, Again: Drug Bust Edition

I decided to head to Riften. On the way there, I fought a Blood Dragon. Supposedly dragons are pretty easy to beat once you're a high enough level; well, I'm not there yet, and this dragon took a few lives to beat. I saw a Standing Stone on my compass and decided to pay it a visit. There was a conjurer there who attacked me, but I was victorious. I made it to Riften's south gate (I had looped around from the west) and was told this gate was closed to travelers; no reason was given. I went for a

Skyrim Adventure, Part 16: In Which I Play Portal

I set out for Morvunskar in search of Sam, the man I got drunk with. After some uneventful journeying, I arrived to find the place being besieged by a dragon. I took this opportunity to pick off the mages, who were distracted by the dragon. The dragon flew off during the skirmish, but I managed to beat the remaining enemies without any trouble. Inside, I get to a large chamber and find myself not so fortunate. After many unsuccessful attempts to beat the 5 or so mages in the room, I decided to t

Skyrim Adventure, Part 15: In Which I Break Into Prison

I returned to Whiterun to do another old quest. An old lady, part of the Gray-Mane family, asked me to meet her. She and her son told me the Legion took her son and that the Thalmor were holding him. I searched the rival family's house and found proof of it. When I presented the proof, they asked me if they should come with some help; I said I would handle it. I fast-traveled to the nearest location and ended up fighting a Dragon. After a few deaths I beat it. After an uneventful journey, I arri

Skyrim Adventure, Part 14: In Which I Become A Miner

I decided to do a quest I had been neglecting for awhile, a Companion quest asking me to retrieve a fragment of Wuuthrad. The journey to the Silver Hand camp was unexciting, as was the cave itself... until I came face-to-face with the leader. Or should I say greatsword-to-face. His attacks packed quite a punch, and I found myself dying in just a few hits. After some trial-and-error, I managed to beat him by timing my attacks in order to evade his. I found a spell book for a Frost Atronach. Man i

Skyrim Adventure, Part 13: In Which I Disrespect Nature

alternative title: In Which I Rescue the Princess   As I said last entry, I stopped by Whiterun. While there I picked up a new spell book: Fireball (any previous mentions of Fireball were actually Firebolt, sorry for any confusion). HOLY MOLY EXPLOSIVE FIREBALLS THIS IS AWESOME I returned to the location closest to my search for the Sybil and continued on my way. I wasn't sidetracked any more; upon arriving there was some sort of argument between the villagers and Silver-Bloods. After the Silver

Skyrim Adventure, Part 12: In Which I Go Hunting For Witches

I've added a new entry tag for these entries, no sense in clogging up my Video Game tag with all these entries   Remember how I kept saying I was gonna go search for the Sybil? And stuff kept coming up? IT KEEPS HAPPENING. I stopped by the Talos Shrine, a man had said he had information about the murder. Turns out he was dead, killed by guards who are on the Forsworn's payroll. I agreed to go to jail, in order to have a chat with the leader. After a bit of mining and doing some favors for the pr

Skyrim Adventure, Part 11: In Which I Become A Ghosthunter

alternative title: In Which I Get Murdered by Robots alternative alternative title: In Which I make Alex Humva Happy   So last time I said I'd search for the Sybil. Well, some things came up. Namely, I watched helplessly as someone got murdered in Markath's marketplace by a Follower. I was pretty confused, but still intent on searching for the Sybil. As I wandered around town exploring and selling stuff at shops, I began finding clues that something was awry. This culminated in some guy challeng

Skyrim Adventure, Part 10: In Which I Become A Transformer

I checked my quest log, and saw I had one ready to turn in. I traveled back to Whiterun, completed the quest, and was told I have something else to do for the Companions. That something else involved a SECRET MEETING AT NIGHT. Long story short, I drank werewolf blood. Now I can go all BEAST MODE whenever I want. Not that I want to, third person combat is difficult. After attacking some random townsfolk, I passed out and awoke outside a Silver Hand encampment with Aela. We stormed the place, kill

Skyrim Adventure, Part 1: In Which I Give Up...?

as stated in my previous entry, here is a more in-depth entry about my first forray into Skyrim   OH YEAH RIDING IN A CART Time to make a character, ok, here we go. So I read through the differing aspectcs of the races. I'd like to do a sneaky archer playthrough, but I'm afraid doing so on my first playthrough would make me miss things. Like, I'd be too focused on sneaking I wouldn't explore to the fullest. I settle on an Imperial for combat and magic. OH YEAH GONNA GET DECAPITATED So I'm runnin

Singularity

It joins Portal on the list of games I have beaten in a day.   I went into the game expecting a mediocre experience with some cool time manipulation. The game was actually pretty great. The only real complaint I have is that guns feel so weak at the beginning of the game. IMO it pulled off everything well. The shooting was good, horror aspects were given out in just the right amount, a wee bit of (rewarding) exploration, a touch of RPG, and of course, the greatness that is the TMD, and the puzzl

Shoot Whoever...

...thought automatically restarting a computer is a good idea.   I mean seriously, there are absolutely no positives to automatically restarting a computer. It once happened to me while I was playing Fallout 3. I didn't see the message until it was too late.   It just happened over night. I left my computer on to finish downloading Burnout Paradise. The computer restarted at some point overnight.   Automatic restarts are a horrible, horrible idea. And apparently the version of Vista I have, Home

School

Was better than I had hoped. I have at least one friend in every class.   My schedule is the same as the preliminary one I got during the summer.   Somebody stole all the Calculus books! =O   2 of my best friends are in my lunch, BUT one hates the other. So idk what I should do.:/   There's also a kid in my Computer Programming class who looks like he wants to kill everyone. And no, I am not exaggerating. He is SCARY.   Also, homework on the first day woooooo! I got it done in class, though.

Rock-n-Rolling with a Chainsaw Bayonet

My pal Josh was over today, and after a brief stint of Burnout Revenge and an episode of G Gundam, we forayed into Gears of War. Even though we both aren't used to shooting with controllers, we both had a ton of fun.   Also it's neat he can sign into his Live account when we co-op and earn achievements.

Republic Commando

It apparently only took me 6.6 hours to beat. It seemed like longer, mostly because of some of the ridiculous parts I had to redo several times. Like those droid dispensers that have INFINITE DROIDS. And there's two of them. And it takes 20 seconds to plant an explosive. And the Super Battle Droids take exceedingly large amounts of damage to destroy. And your whole squad is incapacitated.   Also, the ending was a perfect setup for a sequel.   WHY ISN'T THERE ONE

Remember, remember the seventh of November

My Xbox got here today. So far all I've done is set it up, mess with preferences, redeem some codes, and play a little Burnout (SO FUN). Hooking it up to my monitor is a pain; long story short I can't use my speakers anymore for my PC, so I guess I'm going headphones only (final destination) for my PC. Guess next on my to-by list should be a TV (or another set of speakers, but that's ridiculous).   Also what's up with the Dashboard only being 720p, it hurts my eyes.

The poll ended up being a tie. I flipped a coin: heads, tails, heads. So, back to HAZMAT.   Maybe I'll go SUSPENSE next time.   Also I'm dropping my signoff. My posts are gonna look so naked.     EDIT: Oh yeah I edited my avatar a bit so the green is the same that I use on my font.

Recommend Me Some Xbox360 Games

Ok, so I'm fairly certain I will be buying myself a 360, now the next thing to consider is games. What are some games you guys would recommend that aren't on PC? I am and will forever be a PC gamer first, consoles second. I'm primarily interested in games with great local (splitscreen) co-op opportunities. Also I won't be getting a Kinect.   Games I'm considering: Halo series Gears of War series Army of Two series Red Dead Redemption Crackdown 1 and 2 Bodycount Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 im a wee

Ravenholm

So I've been re-playing HL2 now that it has Steam achievements, and today I got to Ravenholm. I thought, "Oh man, I hate Ravenholm." But then I thought, "Erik, you've played through Ravenholm so many times it shouldn't affect you anymore."   I was wrong. Ravenholm still gives me the creeps. And now I'm at the mine part which is just as bad.   But once I get out, the game just gets better and better.
