Discussion of the MOC itself should be directed to the BBC topic.
--------------------
This MOC was started a long time ago in response to a building challenge on another site, to make a creation based on a work of art. I found my inspiration in an image by a prolific artist who goes by the alias "soundlessdawn":
I'd been itching to use Nuju's Hordika weapons as wing sections, and this struck me as the perfect application. The glow-in-the-dark exoskeleton design came later, after
I just finished a MOC that's probably my most artistic to date. It is based on an ancient motif of the Egyptian mythic tradition. I plan to photograph it on Thursday (my day off this week -- weekend is work!) and try to have everything done -- gallery, inscription, and Photoshop art -- by next Wednesday. I don't normally hype my MOCs very much before publication, but I thought I'd announce this one early because of the esoteric significance of it at this juncture in my life.

So I finally did what I've meant to do ever since moving into the Flagship: invited a few of my friendses over for a housewarming. Being an unrepentant MOCist, my biggest challenge was turning the swamp of LEGO pieces in my room into a space more conducive to a social gathering. Long-time readers may recall the last time I wrote about a similar situation. The results this time were not so good -- in fact, they looked abysmal. I found myself almost hoping people wouldn't show up at all, and save

So that's what my new avatar looks like in full.
In other news, I will be hosting a housewarming party tomorrow. On the day after, my first choir performance. I will report back on how those events go.
Love and kisses,
I joined a church choir today.
I've always enjoyed singing, and people tell me I have a good voice. So when my cousin "Mandy" and her husband "Johnny" tipped me off about the youth choir they sing in, I perked up my little hedgehog ears and decided that that was something I definitely wanted to try.
Due to a slight conflict with my work schedule, I arrived a good 15 minutes late. The church cantor, who directs the choir, must have been expecting me, because his eyes were clear as he greete

You know how my job involves kids, right? Well, the two youngest are boys, aged 6 and 8. I'll call them "Sam" and "Todd." Sam goes to preschool and Todd is in 2nd grade (school starts at age 7 here). Their mom, my employer's wife, no longer stays at home like she did when I started there; she's now working at an outpatient clinic. This means I have a lot more responsibility, but also a lot more freedom. Gradually, in these past few months, I've gotten to know my work environment and the people i
So after the demonstration downtown today, I still had 45 min of parking time left. I stowed my sign away in my car (no, I won't say what was on it -- it was a symbol that to describe would probably get me in trouble with the staff) and went shopping. Picked up a picture frame, a pocket calendar, and. . .

Kudos to Stockmann for stockin' these guys -- the other store I visited earlier today only had Power Miners in their shipment. (I got two copies of 8957 Mine Mech from there -- ora
From here.
There's a track at about 52:00 that seems to get at the heart of things.
Don't they know that there's something going on?
What they're harming with their indecision?
Who will be left standing when I'm gone?
There'll be nothing left of our but a vision.
And it's too easy to turn a blind eye to the light,
It's too easy to bow your head and pray.
But there are some times
When you should try to find your voice,
And this is one voice that you must find today.
Are you h
New content block, idea ripped off of Takuma Nuva.
It was kinda interesting to go back and read all those old entries. :wakeup2: [/nostalgia] Seems like I've been slipping lately, though. Putting less of myself into this blog than before, in favour of more random comment bait. Hmm. Tsktsk @ self.

I've never seen this piece myself, and no one seems to know what set(s) it made its appearance in. It seems an oddity, too specialized (and fragile?) to have warranted continued releases, but the photo is obviously real. Anyone have a clue where it's from?
Also, Barraki eyes are coming out in at least one new colour this year.

The Toa Nuva.
Onua is the best by far. I still have him together, which is amazing considering that I made the purchase yesterday. Tahu and Gali didn't last an hour before the urge to start cannibalizing them for MOC parts became irresistible. Several of the new parts have found their way into my new, Dark Mirror -inspired inbrickations of Tuyet and Nidhiki. As cool as Onua is, he would have been even cooler with a silver pelvis. . . . And for looking forward to the coming year. . .
As I alluded to in the last entry, my little brother is visiting me over Christmas. He's the second son of eight in our family (there are six girls, too) and the only one of my siblings that's currently here in Finland. He came to serve the military duty that's a requisite for retaining his natural-born Finnish citizenship. His six-month term ends in a week, at which time he will be leaving (on a jet plane, don't know when he'll be back ag
I made them myself.
Actually, I made the dough, my brother and my cousin rolled it out and cut the cookies, and I decorated them. They really are delicious.
Oh, and there's mulled wine, too. Please, help yourselves.
*toasts* Merry Christmas!

Here.
My post count didn't even occur to me as I wrote that. Only noticed afterwards. But hey, it couldn't have been in a more fitting topic. MOCing is the thing closest to my heart about BIONICLE, and it always will be.
Thoughts on what I wrote. . .
Siilivaara needs a theme song. And at least one hedgehog MOC!
My denizens are pretty tame compared to anything by Bunda.

Look at this, dear! My goodness me, I have never received one of these before. . .
Good grief! Is there no limit to how far people will go to take advantage of the gullible? Yeesh.
'Course, I wish it was real.

My post count is at 1,233, people. This is it. I'll never reach 12,345, so my next post is the last one that's ever going to "count." Up from 1, you know what I mean.

Dagnabbit, I'll never make that post if I keep stressing over it!
Here goes, off to post. . . somewhere.
Update: It is now midnight, and I have not made my 1,234th post. Sleep comes first, I'm afraid.
