This entry reminded me that I, too got a staff invite once. I've refrained from mentioning it because I didn't want to sound boastful or anything, but I figured it'd be safe to mention it now, seeing as it's the one day nobody will believe me.

I've got to say, I'm a little afraid, since I've never done anything like this before. I'm still not sure what prompted me to say yes, but reading

Not permanently, of course. But now that the contest is over, I'm going to take a step back from BZP, and indeed the Internet at large. My fellow Catholics (and a few others, I'm sure) should be able to guess why. So, I'll tie up a few loose ends tomorrow, then leave until sometime around the end of March.
Perhaps I shall use the time to work on my epic...I really ought to get another chapter so I'll have something to fall back on. Also, watch for a trading topic to be posted upon my return.

Well, for my creative writing class, I was supposed to write a paragraph on haunted houses. It was going pretty much as you might expect for such a story, with the innocent, unwary travelers, the creepy trees, etc., until I realized it wasn't supposed to be a story. It was supposed to be a paragraph. And it was much too stereotypical for my liking. So I went all silly on it, decided the rules of conventional storytelling were more guidelines than actual rules, and added a twist or two. After all
