Flashback I step into the scene There's you, and there's a very different me. And that's 2014 for me. I started off this year as an almost entirely different person from what I am now. It actually feels like this year was longer than it actually was. And so many things changed. Was it really just last March that I got lifetime premiership? last summer that I took that communications class and got involved in teeth-clenching debates? this fall that I just finished all of that PHP? Was the foru
Finally got Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder. I have no idea when I'm actually going to be able to build it (or read the book), but I'm pretty sure I'll have time over the winter break. I now need to preorder the next Bionicle book...
So today I went to see Avengers: Age of Ultron today, and I do want to ramble about it, as I am wont to do with these blog entries. But I'd like to back up a little bit and talk about the original Iron Man first. Writing Late to the Party reminded me so strongly of that movie that I actually re-watched it last week. (The protagonist ended up a little close to Tony for my brain not to get flooded. He's not a womanizer like Tony though, but whatever.) I found the movie to be a bit sour this time a
The next MoUP-style game is on going on the road Monday, September 21st! For real this time. *glares at self for not following through last time* ------------------------------------------------------ Next priority is this epic. and my writings for Distortion, which have already began to take shape. Then I have Categorical GregF Reference to do. And then...new secrets have yet to be revealed.
Question: So, why so stubborn this week, fishers? Me: I don't know. Question: That's not an acceptable answer. Why are you stubborn? Me: Because people are attacking things that I care about. Question: Isn't that kinda old news? Me: Uh, no. Question: Is an RPG really something to be stubborn about? Me: Yes. *excited animated whispering from the audience* Question: Is *insert illegal debate topic here* something to be stubborn about? Me: Heck yes. Question: So is that
Seriously, go to karz. I cannot believe that I am now writing this story, which I did not want to write under any circumstances. I cannot tolerate this. Go die. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A LIGHT-HEARTED STORY, YOU WRETCHED THING! It was not meant to include tragic elements, emotional upheaval, possible romance plots (######??? ) or seriously creepy stuff from a positively nightmarish horror story! Blasted Visorak noggins, this is awful.

Go play! Go read! And remember kids, never give up on your dreams. Even if your dreams are as stupid as hosting a HF RPG and posting a story on a discussion forum. I already do have better life goals, but not giving up on even the smallest ones is how I do life.
So for next semester I'm making a change. This semester, to put it bluntly, didn't work out so good. I've scrapped my original plans to take two programming classes and an English class and take two classes in actual web page design and a math class instead. A math class that I have taken once, aced, twice, flunked, three times, flunked again. I have more notes on this one class than all four of my novel writing concepts combined. Calculus I. Seriously. If I can't ace this class for the second
No, the i7 hasn't crashed. Yet. I think it may be on its way down, though. It took me five minutes to boot it up yesterday. I'm pretty sure Dropbox is to blame - for whatever reason, that program has decided to be a colossal resource hog. Since that's just the capstone on my Dropboxing grievances, I've decided to give it the boot. After researching the alternatives, I'm switching to MEGA. It has enough space for my ever-sprawling system of folders and files, so I can put everything in there in
Of the projects mentioned in the previous blog entries, Late to the Party and the Categorical GregF Reference yet remain. The Categorical GregF Reference programming is, in fact, done. I have some bugs to fix, and I have some repetitive legwork that needs to be finished, but the end of the very long tunnel will be with us shortly. I'm also pleased to announce that Late to the Party is 26 chapters in the blue as of this writing. I originally thought this one to top out at 36; I'm starting t
It's nice when your IDE can define your problem for you. Apparently I'm going to have to take something back - the categorization is probably (not certain, but probably), NOT going to take hundreds of hours as previously thought in the last blog entry. Due to the amazing powers of Java and JavaScript, I have rigged up a much more sophisticated search system than the Ctrl-F bar, which returns all of the posts that contain a certain word. (This is the net equivalent of the archives search featu
:burnmad: !!! (I include this quote to explain why I'm mad. It's from a discussion that I read over and over again, and it's in the archive and gone, so don't go looking for it. I remember that after this there were several lines about stuff bones knew because he had been around since 2001, and I started in '05 with '04 story. As such, I might be overreacting a little.) I don't claim the moral ground here. I could be really, really wrong, but there is nothing on this website that ticks
So today, since I'm technically off school and not going anywhere, I decided to go watch Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a more innocent Star Trek ripoff, but that's like saying something ripped off Bionicle, in which case it would be amazing. Which is multiple levels of irony because all of the main players are criminals, but...alas, it is not as raunchy as your typical Star Trek episode. The characters have a bit more emotional depth to them and are a bit more childlike - they're not
Well no dur. The priority of TLG has always been plastic toys, yo. But it is particularly evident here. I have to say, these sets for the new line are glorious. They put Hero Factory sets to shame. The thought of integrating gears/Technic into CCBS has been with me for years, and then Lego goes and does it. Someone has been reading my mind. Plus they do it in a way that's Technic and actually built, rather than just making a part that does it that I would have to get in stupendous quantities.
Pic links to topic. It's kind of a weird way to do comics, but in this case I think it works. Feel free to complain about me breaking sacred traditions. All feedback is welcomed.
First off, I want to apologize to the people who commented in the last blog entry on this, because nothing they have requested has gotten done. Unfortunately other people who did not comment on that blog entry got involved...and they had deadlines. Still, I am questioning the wisdom of taking everyone's input if I'm just going to do whatever. In any event, my bad for setting up false expectations. But here's what's up. I haven't forgotten you all, at least. * * * 1. Categorical Greg Answe
