All The World's Problems

I've found the source of all the worlds problems, particularly war, especially that which utilizes new technology.   Because someone threw a rock On the path that he walked We're all caught in this poppycock We refuse to talk We fight non-stop Because someone threw a rock   (or a shoe)

What Kind Of Word Are You?

Then there's those nasty adjectives and adverbs that are always complementing other people. I would definitely call myself a cross between a conjunction and an ad-word. I'm certainly not a stand-alone word.

Negation Use

Word hates me. A double negative doesn't always simply mean a positive. Sometimes it has an emphatic meaning or something like that. Ex. 'I left a note in her locker, using a magnet of mine so she couldn’t possibly not see it.' It demonstrates the inability to not see it, not simply that she could see it.

Note To Self Issue #x

New Note to Self 15-Dec-08: Don't write notes while you're distracted. You never know when a grammatical error or skipped words might insult the recipient rather than yourself.

Fun With Adverbs

In theory, an adverb can be formed by adding the "-ly" suffix to any adjective. Examples include "happy" > "happily", "weird" > "weirdly", etc.   So I've been having fun with some very strange adverbs. uglily bluely sugarily scaredly (not an odd word really, but it wasn't in the dictionary) Communistically left-to-rightly Uses:"He uglily crept down the hallway." "The depressed man trudged bluely across the street." "The three-year-old bounced sugarily around the room." "He peered scaredly

Hate

The Triple Entente is annoying. Not the actual political allegiance between Britain, France and Russia during and before WWI, but a group of three friends I know. All of them are really awesome people, but one in particular holds much more Nukarma at the moment. The other two are my ex girlfriend and the person mentioned in the last entry.   If they want me to know something, they could tell me. If they are ready to hear and maybe accept apologies or explanations, they should let me know. But

Notes

I hate communicating via giving notes (not passing them, but giving them and leaving them). You can't communicate as much or as instantly, mood is lacking, leading to misunderstandings. You can't explain yourself when you see the person's negative reaction. You never know when it was given. You could find it as soon as it was given, or a week later. Oh, hey, and how does one apologize for something when the person he has offended avoids his verbal advances and possibly even his written notes?

To Those Knowledgeable...

Imagine you are sitting talking to someone who just walked up, and the person digs through a pocket for bills, shows you a 1995 $2 bill, and then says, holding $1s, "I wonder if the milk machine takes dollar bills." I say "I think so. The other machines do." "I'm going to go try it." "Okay." "Come help me." Is that a ploy for attention. I mean, who needs help inserting bills Washington-side up into a machine? So is it a very-obvious-but-less-obvious-than-just-saying-it way of communicatin

Is it just me or does his 'Together Forever' sound a lot like 'Never Gonna Give You Up'?

Christmas Music

Why has it been playing since a week before Thanksgiving. Christmas music in general isn't too bad, but every store, every radio station, every movie, everybody has to do the same songs over and over and over and over and over ad infinitum (or at least New Year's). Make some new Christmas (or other December holiday) music, people. The classics have been playing for one too many centuries.   The irony of it is someone tried to get me to make a promise today: "Nukora, promise me one thing." "W

Um...

So, I might be a little behind (possibly eight years even), but...   Since when did the Bionicle planet have a moon? And where did this image come from?

Evilness

Since I was to be absent from school on Wednesday, I asked my math teacher what the assignment would be (on Tuesday when I was there). She told me. I also looked it up on the internet to confirm I heard it right. I did. So I did the assignment and had all my weekend math homework done on Tuesday night. I could have done my Health homework, but I opted to do stuff on the computer that night and do Health in the car the next day.   I looked at my math grades on the internet to ensure that Tuesday

Plusless

So, last quarter I had three classes whose grades were A's without the plus. The others were A+. The classes would be Band , Spanish, and Math. Band: I didn't know it was impossible to not get an A+ with that teacher. I really have no idea why I only had a 96. O.o Spanish: We had a few projects that involved artwork, creative skill, and actual dedication rather than pure knowledge of Spanish. And the one that was three weeks late didn't help. Math: Ah, heck. It's math that's supposedly two yea

The Cold War

Why do they say it ended? Maybe the scare is less than it was during the time period they place the Cold War in, but it is still there. The United States still worries about communist governments in Russia, China, South America, and Middle East. Every so often the media reports on countries that are suspected to have nuclear weapons shipped to them from Russia and China. The powers still try to influence Middle Eastern countries so that they can trade oil with them. And, an instance that doesn't

We're No Stangers...

...to love. You know the rules and so do I. A full commitment's what I'm thinking of. You wouldn't get this from any other guy.   I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling. Gotta make you understand.   I'm never gonna give you up. Never gonna let you down. Never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry. Never gonna say goodbye. Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

Sociology

I love it. A science that lets you stereotype people.   Nah, but really. I've been doing a lot of personal studies in the area in an attempt to improve my social abilities and friend-making skills. I've been trying to explain the actions of myself and others. Then it occurred to me that I'd heard of a science that did the same thing. So I started wanting to take courses in it. Although that won't come for a while, I've begun to look it up online. <3

Homonyms

Why is English so cruel with these?   I mean, I can see why "their" and "they're" had to be homonyms, because they are both based off of the word "they." But what cool dude decided to make "there" also homonymous with them?   Who thought "here" and "hear" should be similar.   It drives me crazy. I mean, homonyms happen in several languages, but hopefully the words there aren't such common words. I hate English.

Silly Takanuva

This may be a tad out of date, but I just read the Kingdom.   And I quote from there: "Takanuva had sacrificed his power to bring a new generation of Toa into being. These included Toa Kapura, Toa Balta, Toa Dalu, Toa Velika, Toa Defilak, and a new Toa of Light, Tanma."   Now, Toa teams rely on their variety. A team isn't much of a team if it doesn't have diverse skills and powers. So what did Takanuva do? He created three Toa of Fire (not the best element for a time of peace either), a Toa of
