You know, when it comes down to it... on a hot day in spring, nearly summer, what in the world beats a nice bowl of freezing cold ice cream?
It's the little things in life. All about the little things.
I like to write, and I wish I were good at it. I suppose when talent's not an option you just gotta train the skill...
But while sometimes the words just flow and you know the situation and it's just THERE and it all fits, other times I have to force it out the tip of my fingers. Like those annoying dried paint tubes, where you can hardly get the cap off and the tube itself is so scrunched up you gotta piledrive it to force anything out of it.
ANYWAY.

So I'm in this very long e-mail conversation with a friend who's in a different summer program, and taking a Java programming course which as it turns out she doesn't really like. In the most recent e-mail she complained that it was getting to her head (having used "==" to equate two things), among other things.
Therefore, with a decent amount of knowledge myself, concerning Java (my dad taught me, if you don't remember) I typed my entire response in code.

I wrote this for a college short answer prompt, but it's something that's been running around in my mind for a while, really.
I never had quite the talent for getting my feelings across in words, but I hope a bit of how this touched me can still communicate with you, as the reader.

I went to Liberty Science Center yesterday with LZ... it was fun, a lot of different stuff after the renovations, but since it was directly after all that construction half the stuff was out of order >.< AND since I went with his family I didn't get to do the "walk an I-beam" thing because that required a parental waiver form thingy. They coulda been a bit clearer as to what was going on. Or maybe it was not the best sub, or I'm just bad at absorbing a lot of information quickly. I mean, I watched part 1 and I'm like, "Well that was rather depressing... but it made sense." And I watch this and by one minute in I've already got a ton of questions.

Words that end in vowels are just more dramatic.
Perhaps because you can't really do a long drawn-out consonant. You can scream "NOOOOOOOOO!" or "WHYYYYYYY!" or "CURSE YOUUUUUU!" because they end in vowels (or vowel sounds). I suppose you can also do "COME BAAAAAAAACK" but it's just the -ck at the end sorta disrupts the effect of the "AAAAAAAAA," if you know what I mean. It's harsh and abrupt.
This actually popped into my head while I was considering why I thought Makuta was a better name
In The Lion King 1 1/2 (the only half-serious one about Timon and Pumbaa) at one point, when Simba keeps waking Timon up for something (need to go to the bathroom, thirsty, bathroom again) and each time they walk over the log, and on the third time Timon says "I'm gonna get old walking over this thing..."
Well, I just noticed that they were referring to the scene from the original movie, during the Hakuna Matata sequence, which showed Timon and Pumbaa and Simba walking over that log, with Sim

First thing I heard when I woke up was rain. Torrential rain. You can imagine how the rest of my day went. >m<
So after eating breakfast I put on my jacket and grabbed my umbrella and went outside. The puddles were, I swear, two inches deep in places, and not easy to avoid either, and all the umbrella did was channel the water that would have fallen
No, I'm serious, it's not flipped. The kid sitting next to me could actually do it too (but he was using all caps).
With a bit of practice you get used to it, actually. S's are tricky, as are the b-d and q-p things... and I sometimes leave out letters (like the K in backwards, for some reason).
It's fun. I'm trying to work out a good font that makes it not obvious right away that it's just normal writing, backwards... it's very hard, really. People just recognize some of those letters righ
So today's my last day here, right? So I was packing.
And I got a call from someone I know in the same program and she's like "hey are you packing?" and I'm like "yeah" and then at some point she mentions the time and I glance at my clock and I'm like "5:40" and then that reminds me of my cell phone (since I'm always checking my phone for the time when I'm out) so I glance at my desk and I'm like "huh, where's my cell phone?"
It doesn't hit me for a FULL MINUTE. I'm like saying out loud "H
... but honestly today was less interesting than usual for a day in NYC...
Well, BZP isn't working for me, like that's new. But I so wanna reply to that comment Greg (AdioBam) posted in my profile... But alas I can't... nor can I add friends, quick edit, manage blog entries, content blocks, or anything.
Today in class we saw a dissassembled iPod and learned how they're made... well, basic anatomy of one in any case.

Two of the three came out good.
One of them was a re-cg of my old dragon in the snow pic, I kept the colors but made it spiffier. And added some semblance of a background.
One of them got scrapped. It mighta been funny, but I just wasn't feeling it today. Maybe I'll reattempt it at some later date. The premise was "Hot to Talk like a Piraka (with Lyger and Zaktan)" a handdrawn comic making fun of the Piraka being portrayed as "gangsters."

Three years. Wow. Long time.
Well, I just got settled in my dorm at Columbia University for the summer program, and my parents and sister just left.
I'm on my dad's laptop, and there is a wireless internet connection, not that strong though, and it's kinda slow, and the screen is miniscule compared to my huge freakin' LCD that I"m used to, and the keyboard is awkward...
But it'll do.
