Intro
I'm posting this early this week, before I get distracted with other things. I hope you all had a tasty and happy Thanksgiving yesterday!
Updates
We're holding off on the ranks, hopefully tomorrow or Sunday we'll have something else new for you. I'm going to tell you what it is, so hopefully it will make sure I actually follow through and roll it out.
In addition to rank images that haven't been updated in a while, BZPower also features an avatar gallery of default avatars that peo

You wouldn't imagine how hard it is to come up with an intro that's not either: a) incredibly cliché, or B) something I've done before repeatedly. Here we go.

So, rank images. They're getting close. All the rank names and post counts have been decided and the former have been entered into the database. About two thirds of the images are complete and have been uploaded. Now the question is, do you want to wait until all the images are done before we roll them out, or get a few

And now we return to your regularly-scheduled Weekly Update.
Updates
Well, first up, there's only a couple days left to ask the Bionicle set designers your questions. It's been a big hit so far and I'm sure the designers are going to have some interesting answers.
So apparently Bionicle will be returning to Happy Meals once again. I can't exactly say I'm excited for them, based on the most recent attempts at fast food toys. We've yet to see any product shots yet, so there's still h

Hey, we're on time this week, imagine that! So let's see what we have.
Updates
The biggest news I think is that BZPower, in conjunction with Binkmeister and Bionicle.com, is allowing you to ask the set designers questions. This is a pretty big opportunity and a big thanks go out to Kelly for organizing it. You can ask your questions here.
In a departure from the past few weeks, there will NOT be a set review this weekend. I know, it's sad. Hopefully before the end of the year we'll
So people keep telling me today is an important day and that I need to go do certain things and think certain ways. I'm not a big fan of that and prefer making my own decisions.
Anyway, that aside, today was a special day; it was cool toy day! An online toystore I came across was having a clearance sale and had some cool things in their inventory so I picked up some nice desk ornaments for work/home. First up is a mini Black Beast of Aaargh plush, which nicely compliments my mini Black Knight

As I forewarned, we're a day late this week. Such is life.
Updates
We should be getting a very large set review up tomorrow, and I mean that in two ways. You'll have to wait until then to see what I mean.
We finally got our Fair and Con coverage up this past week. Better late then never?
And as the year draws closer and closer to its end, the final 2008 Bionicle Comic has begun to appear. Many things are revealed, or so I hear. But don't forget to use spoiler tags and not ruing
So I'm going to be leaving shortly to go take care of some business, and probably won't be getting back until late.
Tomorrow, I'll be working (as usual), then straight after work I'll be going into NYC with some co-workers for a while. So there's a good chance there won't be a Weekly Update until Saturday.
Speaking of which, on Saturday I'll be out again in the afternoon looking at apartments, so it's looking to be a busy weekend. Funfun.
So if I'm not around, I hope everyone has a happ

It's Weekly Update time! Nothing too big, as per usual. Let's see what's inside.
Updates
So, at least one review will be going up this weekend, two if I have time. We should also be getting some coverage from the BrickCon event that took place a little bit ago (no word yet on the rest of our BrickFair coverage, does anyone really care at this point?).
So this year's story gets closer and closer to ending, and details of next year begin to emerge. So let me remind you that you shoul
So I got an order in today from Amazon. Among other things, in it were Casablanca on HDDVD and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. Two quite different movies that are both awesome in their own right. I just finished up the former and am watching the latter as I type this up.
Casablanca is, of course, a classic. It has so many lines that have become a part of our culture it's not even funny. "Play it again Sam, for old times sake." "Here's looking at you kid." "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a b

Welcome, readers, to yet another edition of the Weekly Update. Boy have we got a lot in store for you. No, not really.
Updates
So, the Bionicle websites have seen a bunch of updates this week, with two new serial entries appearing and the always present Takanuva Blog fleshing things out. Lots of story content if that's your thing, as the year, and the world we know, comes to a close.
We should be getting another set review up this weekend, only a few more before we're done with th

So, today is Friday, and that means it's time for another Weekly Update. What's been updated, you ask? Well there's only one way to find out...
Updates
And the answer is, not a huge amount. Sorry to disappoint yet again.
There have been some interesting story updates recently, with a new video appearing as well as the music video for this year's song. I personally found some of the comments about Cryoshell's lead singer odd, considering there weren't very many good shots of her in

So I was sitting at my computer after enjoying the premier of Sanctuary and wondering, 'what should I do now?' when it suddenly dawned on me that I had forgotten the weekly update! But I was not too late, so here it is!

If you haven't read this yet, do it NOW! Some people like being surprised, please respect that.
Hopefully we'll have another set review getting posted tomorrow, getting closer to finishing the 2008 lineup.
I received some information this week about ToyFa
So, word on the street was right and I did have a brief appearance on another episode of LAMLradio, the Lego talk podcast. You can listen to Episode #58, which, while claiming to talk about Lego and politics, is really more about how the economy is affecting Lego prices and trends we may see in the future. It's pretty interesting stuff.
So, in my last entry I mentioned the idea of a potential BZPower podcast. What kind of stuff would you like to see in such a thing?
So I last appeared in episode #56 of LAMLradio, the Lego talk podcast. But the conversation continued on after the show ended. All of that was recorded as well and made into the next episode of the show. I guess we talked on too much for it to be one episode, heh. Anyway, you can check it out here, and listen to us talk about sorting and storing Lego. Word on the street is that there will be another clip from our conversation in Episode #58, making a new personal record for me.
I don't know

No blog-posting programs tonight. Apparently using them means my entries don't get sent to the RSS feed, so we'll have to do some more research into that. But anyway, here's this week's update.

First off, check out this news story and go vote in the RPG Contest Final Poll. Then you can start playing in the RPGs come Monday once the polls close and the winners have been chosen.
Aside from that, a missing Forum Leader, Than: Matoran of Anger, has returned now that life has ca
So, this post is being made from Qumana, which may be replacing MarsEdit. It was much easier to set up my blog, and it was able to get the categories I had set up right away. I haven't discounted MarsEdit completely yet, but I think I may like this better.
Anyway, the 56th episode of LAMLradio, the Lego talk podcast was posted yesterday. I was cohosting with James as well as another Lego fan, Will. We discussed a number of things, from the new Power Miners sets (ugly colors!), to botched vira
So I was looking through my blog settings recently and noticed something about being able to turn on support for metaweblog clients or some crazy thing like that and I got curious. Apparently, with the right program and some fidgeting with the settings you can use an external program to add entries to your BZPower Blog.
I'm testing this right now with MarsEdit for Mac OS X. It seems ok, and possibly more convenient than making the entry on BZPower. I haven't been able to find a way to set cat

Avast mateys, and welcome to the weekly update, arr! I'll take ye for a trip upon me magic swirlin' ship (to paraphrase Bob Dylan) an' see what we got in store.

Another week, another update. Not a whole lot to report on, but we'll make some stuff up anyway.

So, first and foremost, a former staff member has returned to grace us with his presence on the staff once again. This crazy Aussie is helping us out in BBC and GD, so watch out if you want to break the rules in there. It's good to have another familiar face back on the team.
Also, we have an RPG Contest going on that I realized I haven't shamelessly advertised in here yet. So
Last one, I swear (ok, maybe not). I just received an email from Todd Webb, the guy behind Brickfair 2008, thanking everyone that attended. Here's an excerpt you might all enjoy:
As I mentioned before, Bionicle was a huge hit, and we hope to come back in style next year.
Brickfair 2009, here we come!
Intro
Brickfair is over, so now it's back to the grind. Let's see what we have in store.
Updates
First thing I'd like to do is mention a poll I recently started: The Future Of Bionicle Videogames. We haven't had the best of luck in this department over the years, but with TT Games' popular Lego games that have been coming out over the past few years and Lego Universe on the horizon, maybe it's a good time to get Lego thinking about a new Bionicle game. I'm looking for your interest and feed
So Brickfair has come and gone, and we're all sad now that it's over. We had an excellent turnout this year, with a lot of excellent MOCs, some great artwork, and even some fan-created games to play. We had a great spot, right at the front of the area, so we were the first thing most people saw and the last thing they saw as they left. There were a lot of oohs and ahhs and a bunch of questions. Fortunately we had our master MOCists Roa McToa and Darth Vader there as well as other seasoned builde

This is an all BrickFair update, since that's all the important stuff that's been happening recently. Sorry for it being late, it's been a very busy day, and as I type this Smeagol4 and Makaru are rocking out in my room with Kohaku and I.
Updates
So, today was the first official day of Brickfair, all of the Bionicle MOCs have been set up and look awesome. Today was pretty much spent wandering around and seeing what everyone else had brought. There's a lot of amazing creations there, a
