Small, round, oblong, and yellow-orange when less than ripe. All adjectives that most unfortunately describe the new Ignika (minus the ripeness part). Basically, it's been truncated, compressed, shrunk, rounded, and in other words made less interesting in every possible way. Gone is the dramatic, sweeping shape of the 2008 Ignika. People are much more inclined to cooperate with you, even if they disagree, when you personally serve them cookies.
This has applications in many aspects of life. I think it works along the same principles as why it's much harder to insult or slander someone or other such unkind things when you're saying it to them in person than with some sort of distance between you.
(and if anyone starts talking about politics I will have to hurt you.)

As you may have guessed, I had exams last week. They were strenuous if nothing else. I was very pleased when Friday came around and I didn't have to get up in the morning, and then I spent the rest of the day doing nothing but cleaning my room and writing a certain review and coloring in Photoshop just for its own sake...

I think the world would be a better place if everyone, everywhere, all at once, stopped what they were doing and spent five or ten minutes listening to the same song. Maybe, just maybe, people would stop fighting and hating each other and bickering over pointless things, if only for a few minutes, because they spent a little time sharing the same experience.

Finally! I had hoped to make all of these new images about a month ago, but then I kept having a ton of other things to do, and I only got to them yesterday. They aren't very tree-ish, but they'll do. I was going to include some of the frozen trees from Ko-Koro somewhere, but in the end they never looked quite as good as the rest, since the nearly pure white behind them wasn't as dramatic as the blues from other things...

It is so weird seeing images I made all over the forum. Pretty nice, though. I'm very fond of how most of them turned out. And oh, I had fun making them (roughly two-thirds, more if you count things I finalized), even if it took a while sometimes.

Our production of A Chorus Line is finally OVER. It was fun, at least for me, since I was on tech crew and didn't have to dance and sing. (I was doing the spotlight.) But three hours of rehearsal every night gets more than a bit time-consuming, especially last week, when from Tuesday to Friday I just didn't go home until 10 because we got dinner at 5 and then rehearsal went from 6 to 10, so there was no point in leaving school. I've been doodling this figure for the past couple days in the edge of my history notebook, a human rendition of a certain Bionicle character, and I'm wondering if you can tell who she is. Alongside the incredible, amazing, and truly historic victory of electing Barack Obama President, an enormous triumph of the civil rights movement, that same movement suffered a defeat. In fact, three defeats.
California, the second state to formally legalize marriage between same-sex couples, became the first to repeal that. It was joined by Florida and Arizona in banning gay marriage, though those two never formally legalized it to begin with. And that leaves only Connecticut and Massachuss

I only wish I were with someone else in person so I could properly scream in delight and go hug somebody. This is ... truly incredible. That movie ... that was ... amazing. I had never really liked the idea that Mata Nui was the universe itself before now, but this ... this did it so perfectly. It's a concept that could very, very easily be absolutely ludicrous if not handled right.

Two days after Halloween... and two days until the election. At this point I just want it to be over; there's no way there's going to be a dramatic upset by Tuesday, so all we can do is wait and see... and make sure that CERTAIN PEOPLE (or person, you know who you are) vote.

I recently rediscovered a CD I hadn't listened to in rather a while: Release by Afro Celt Sound System. I fell in love with it all over again.
All of my favorite songs (The Other Side, Deep Channel, Rise Above It) are on their album Seed, but I realized that Release completely and perfectly embodies the sound and feel of their music. My life suddenly became extremely busy in the last week and a half. I'm not entirely sure how. Maybe it was that everything decided to happen all at once. Inordinate amounts of nightly problems for Calculus, most of them about integration and nigh-unsolvable, then two presentations to prepare for AP US, a 4-page-long essay for English, large amounts of reading for English (which are only a problem because I end up with no time to do them), and on top of all that
(because 'Glatorian' doesn't at all sound like a plural in and of itself and 'Glatorians' sounds inescapably lame.)
