"i Hate Bronies"

Bambi

Can anybody here who says that tell me why you hate them?

What exactly did bronies ever do to you? Okay, you're sick of seeing MLP banners, so we should remove them and change to something for your conservative, narrow-minded interests? What about someone who is tired of Bionicle/HF? Doesn't that mean you should change your signatures/avatars?

Another question, why bother saying it?

BRONIES ARE TAKING OVER BZPOWER BY EXPRESSING THEIR INTEREST IN SOMETHING I DISLIKE! THAT IS TOTALLY WRONG BECAUSE MY OPINION SAYS IT IS AND THEY ARE TAINTING THE SACRED NAME OF BIONICLE! HAIL MATA NUI!

Eh, Bronies are annoying. MLP fans are cool, and fine. Having pony avatars and signatures is fine. But the people who are obsessive and can't stop substituting "pony" for "person" or "people" or "body" are kind of tiring. At that point it goes from being "neat, something somebody likes and or is interested in!" to "Do you think this person realizes this is just a cartoon?"

Yes, I agree. I just don't see the point of putting "I hate bronies" or "A man against bronies" in your signature or wherever.

I don't get it when people bring up ponies in conversations that were never about ponies in the first place, and when they do I just go "Yeah, like, you know we weren't talking about ponies, right?".

EDIT: dauh DV just said that way better than i did lol

DUDE I KNOW RIGHT?! LIKE, NOBODY SHOULD BE ON HERE IF THEY DON'T LIKE BIONICLE, AND ANYBODY WHO LIKES HERO FACTORY SHOULDN'T BE HERE EITHER SINCE IT REPLACED MY CHILDHOOD.

Bronies are only annoying when they act overly obsessive about MLP and act like they need to make the entire internet accept them and/or share their interests.

That applies to pretty much any fanbase, really. But it seems to happen a lot with Bronies.

It's just when bronies go OTT (brohoof, everypony, overuse of the words 'mane' and 'tail' instead of 'main' and 'tale') that I get irritated. I don't mind anyone who doesn't do that, though. Let everyone have their own interests.

I don't honestly mind when people casually drop pony jargon. I rarely do so myself, but in casual conversation "everypony" is no less appropriate than other slang like "peeps" or "homies". "Mane" and "tail" don't work as well when not discussing ponies, because they can just look like typos.

Eh, it is less appropriate because "peeps" and "homies" are general slang that didn't originate in a cartoon, but originated in cultural movements. They also aren't a reference to a cartoon, they're just slang. "Everypony" and the like are words that are more like badges, like they say "look at me, I'm overly interested in a cartoon to a scary point!" (And yes, I feel the same way about people who use slang from other intellectual properties and the like. Browncoats are still the worst, and Homestuck fans are pretty terrible too. [Also, I liked Firefly and I love Homestuck, but I think the line between "like/love" and "obsess" is what tends to grate on people.])

People get to like whatever they want, we're on a fansite for a children's toy, for crying out loud. But the obsessive fans of any theme, especially when they're crazy vocal, are the ones who are going to ruin it for everyone else.

(Also, as an aside, there is a time and place for property-related slang, like in conversations with bronies about MLP, or when you're with a bunch of Star Wars fans and you use a quote from the movies, etc. Taking it to everyday use is when it just gets... bizarre.)
