Tyranid Army: Second Update

I haven't talked about this in quite some time. Granted though, most of you probably don't care about this anyways. :P

 

So, status update. I acquired a battleforce set (3 Warriors, 16 Hormagaunts, 16 Termagants, 3 Ripper Swarms, and 8 Genestealers) and a Hive Tyrant/Swarmlord kit.

 

As of now everything is at least partially painted. Completely painted models would be the Warriors, Genestealers, and Swarmlord which I just finished not five minutes ago. I really want to go out and buy more models, but I should probably finish painting the ones I already have. :glare:

 

Anyways, expect a picture or two of the finished ones soon.

 

As for actually playing the game, I got a few of 5th edition under my belt to get me used to the basics. But now 6th edition is out and it's way more fun. Neither I nor my boss have models for all the units we've been playing with (Vahi Kanoka Discs make a good proxy for Tyrant Guards. :P) and the terrain is almost nonexistent. We've mostly been using paint pots, screwdrivers, small boxes, and even paper towel scraps (flat, square white forests FTW).

 

Anyways, I leave all y'all now with a preview of the army I'll be taking for our next game of 1255 points.

I've searched high and low, but it looks like this guy only made a Tyranid version. :(

 

As for Lictors, I'll try them in another game. The last one I played I actually did run Deathleaper and he was somewhat effective. I was doomed to lose that game though. 750pts and I took Deathleaper and a Swarmlord. :D

Interesting. If I remember right, Tyranids can just reuse "killed" figures to symbolize their swarming strategies, right?

I'm pretty sure the 4th edition Tyranid codex had something where you could reuse gaunts, but I didn't look to see if that was in this edition.
