:kaukau: He's not overreacting, just...yeah, he's overreacting. But I think that it's a pretty long countdown and he plenty of time to change his mind, especially when I think he was being comedic.

Relax, man. The staff just gave us a (Really nice) new skin which is BIONICLE themed. Does a little .gif of a HF piece really make that much difference?

E: Bfa put it nicely:

This 35x32 spinning icon will surely lead to the permanent death of BIONICLE!

You know who I feel sorry for? Whoever it is that makes these things. They go to all this effort and suddenly people are saying that it's ruined BZPower forever.

I'm not. I'm dead serious.

Thankfully it will be a while before this newb reaches that milestone mid-life crisis. If Bionicle comes back before it happens, I'll stay.

Handy, seeing as that won't be for another six years. I suspect by then things will be a good deal different. We'll be older, and we can laugh about the good times.

I guess we'll see if BZP is still kicking in six years, then!

I'm totally setting a reminder in my calendar for six years from now, called "Makuta_of_Oz Leaves BZP Forever" just so I don't forget.

So...everything you stand for is being sad about a dead toyline?

Okay.

He's made this clear before. It certainly is worrying.

Really I think it's sad that the spinny has you so worked up. If this is the kind of attitude you're going to have about everything Hero Factory, then you might be better off leaving BZPower, because a lot of BIONICLE fans aren't so narrow-minded about which themes they consider acceptable.

Hero Factory never did anything to hurt BIONICLE; it was just created to fill the void when BIONICLE couldn't continue any longer. If Hero Factory hadn't emerged to replace BIONICLE then something else would have, because the people who made the series great for so many years knew better than to think they could continue it indefinitely, and did their best to wrap things up and let it down gently before the time came to call it quits.

I'm not saying you have to treat the themes as if they're equal, because they're very different and it's reasonable to like one and dislike the other. But treating Hero Factory as if it's evil just for succeeding BIONICLE is as silly as treating BIONICLE as if it's evil for succeeding RoboRiders.

I know people hate HF but I thought it'll never get to this point. It's unesscary to go overreacting just because of one small change.

So... A spinny that you're likely to never see next to your name is against everything you stand for?

I mean no offence when i say this but you're how old again? If everything you stand for revolves around a childs toyline... something's wrong.

My brother basically said what I was thinking.

I like you, Makuta of Oz. I love hearing about your struggle to break into a job on Australian railroads. I'm entertained by your descriptions of Pokemon tournaments, which I never had the guts to enter back when I still collected the TCG. But it frustrates me when I have to read that you're going back to tilting at the windmill that is Bionicle's return, or when you're spewing vitriol about Hero Factory simply because it came after Bionicle's end and it wasn't the same thing.

I accept that you haven't moved on, but honestly, treating BZPower as if it's ruined forever because of something as minor as this is ridiculous. If you can't accept that other members of BZPower have moved on to other interests after Bionicle's end, or that the staff want to keep BZPower viable by keeping its temporally-based statuses up with the times, then maybe you shouldn't even wait before leaving. Because BZPower isn't going to be coming any closer to the unrealistic ideal you hold it to.

Artists are okay with haters as long as they themselves know it's good.

Bfa is the artist for this one. :P

This is so hilarious in a bad way I won't even try to come up with a proper reaction. I'll just watch instead. But seriously, just wow.

Dude

Dude seriously

You are having a flipout about the fact that THIS THING FROM ONE CHILDREN'S TOYLINE IS NOT AS GOOD AS THE THINGS FROM THE CHILDREN'S TOYLINE THAT I LIKE!

I said it. You are flipping out over toys. For kids.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Bionicle. It would make my frickin' day if it was announced that it would come back. As it is, I wish we'd get an update on Bioniclestory.com because we were kinda left hanging there. And for what it's worth, I don't like Hero Factory; whereas Bionicle's story (which was what the main draw of the franchise was was, for me) is pretty enjoyable (and pretty good!), and even though I'm now outside of the target audience I can still enjoy it. Hero Factory seems too childish for my liking. The "story"(quotes because there's not really much of one) just seems unenjoyable to anyone over the age of seven, and the set design sucks.

But I'm not getting up in arms about it. The fact remains that it's not something earthshaking, it's not a lifestyle, it's not even something to get mildly worked up over.

It is, at its core, a toy line intended for children between the ages of six and twelve.

OK?
