I DON'T LIKE CHANGE ;-;

I AM SO ANGRY THAT THE WRITERS WOULD DARE TO ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOBS AND WRITE NEW THINGS ABOUT A CHARACTER THAT I OBVIOUSLY KNOW BETTER!

THEY ARE RUINING THE SHOW BY NOT KEEPING EVERYTHING EXACTLY THE SAME FOREVER. I AM SO DONE.

You know what I noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan". Even if the plan is horrifying. If tomorrow the writer's announce that, like, an Alicorn will get married or a couple of side-characters will have kids...nobody panics. Because it's all part of the plan. But when they say that one, little old mare will get wings...Well then, everyone loses their minds!

Introduce a little anarchy...

more a response to the reactions of the fandom at large than specifically anyone here

I just think everyone is being rather silly.

it's like, I've been seeing this kind of thing from parts of the fandom for the entirety of this season, even though at its core nothing has changed at all. I'm starting to wonder if maybe they're just getting bored with it or something.

Yeah, strong reactions are being seen fandom-wide right now.

That said, despite being a Twi fan, I'm iffy on this. It's clearly a change pushed by Hasbro corporate to sell toys, and it's gonna be really difficult to fit in with the established mythos (let alone the repercussions on the mane six relations); but if any team can do pull this off, it's the people over at DHX Media.

I'm interested to see how they handle this for the finale and season 4.

What I'm grateful about here on BZPower is that I haven't seen any of the "It's just to make money/sell toys!" arguments. Because really, LEGO fans know enough to realize that selling toys and telling quality stories aren't mutually exclusive. You'd think that bronies would also realize this, since the show has existed to sell toys from the beginning, but sadly too many of them think of "evil Hasbro that puts unfair obligations on the writers" and "the guys who give our writers their salaries and who have put their stamp of approval on most of the series' good decisions" as separate entitites.

Maybe if the MLP:FiM toys had the same reputation for quality as the show people would feel differently. I'll admit it's easy to think that the toy designers and show writers live in separate worlds when some characters in the toys are so terribly off-model.
