The Kid Icarus characters have character, they are all very unique within the Nintendo universe. All of them are very different from other characters that Nintendo has made. As much as I love Pokemon it does have too much representation in my opinion, and none of them are really favorites of mine.

As much as I love cute Pokemon, they don't really do much compared to Hades, Fawful, Luigi, Star Fox, etc.

It's similar to the arguement of whether Jigglypuff should be in the Smash Bros. games. Jigglypuff has no character, but just happens to be a favorite of Sakurai...

There really are too many Pokemon, and some really odd choices of them, too.

Also there was just way too little love for crazy-awesome minibosses.

I'll freely admit, I should've probably added in Lucina or Chrom, or Marth or Roy or Ike or someone. Though I'll also admit my knowledge on the lesser characters/franchises isn't exactly the greatest all the time...

If it makes anybody feel any better, I don't think too many of the Pokemon characters will be advancing into the next round. Some, yes, but not all.
